If you would go back 10 years ago and say a show about ponies would become popular, people would say you’re crazy and you must be joking. But now looks like the jokes on them, because My little pony: friendship is magic is a fantastic show. Its has an amazing reintroduction to its world and mythology waiting to be explored, the best flash animation since FHFIF, songs that are nice to listen to, and some fun and memorable characters with a good amount of depth. True, I wouldn’t call this a masterpiece, due to having some predictable moments, a couple characters could’ve been used better and can be a bit repetitive at times, but that shouldn’t stop people from enjoying it. Plus, I’m amazed how not only how this show not only lasted 221 22 minutes episode in 9 years, which means it lasted longer than regular show and adventure time, but throughout all that time, the main character, Twilight Sparkle, not once have a single love interest throughout the entire series, and no I’m not counting equestria girls. I think everyone should at least give it a watch, if you love shows like the classic powerpuff girls. I’m gonna be generous and give this series a 8/10, since it has its standout episodes. 2010 has been the year remembered for bringing animation television back on top and nice to look back at the shows that revitalized television. From the game changer phenomenon Adventure Time, to the bizarre regular show, to MLP, a show that took an absurd toy franchise and made it a cultural hit.
I wholeheartedly agree. Although, I would add, that one of the series' greatest strengths is its' use of the (mostly) episodic nature of the story to slowly and gradually build up the characters' personalities and relationships with each other. This is something most other shows, especially those meant for younger audiences, just don't pull off well, but MLP did so extraordinarily well, even to the degree that many characters were so fleshed out, they came across as "real" people. This is extremely rare, because you don't even get this from most shows meant for adults.
Disagree with this. This show is overrated now after Season 4 the show went downhill with 5 being OK but the last 4 seasons where rubbish. The characters are inconsistent in diffrent episodes, the writing is mixed, the animation has flaws, the morals can be pretty bad from time to time, its a kids show so most of its lessons have been done to death to. It's also childish to like a lot of other kids shows.

A year later, but if you think about it we are constantly relearning the same lessons over and over again in real life. I like that they do this in the show tbh. Gives me some reassurance when I don’t get a lesson right the first time.

It was a perfect ending to a perfect series and there are so many times throughout the series that made me tear up. To think I’d dedicate a decade of my life to MLP I’d have called you insane but I’m glad I did.

During "The Magic of Friendship Grows" in the final scene, the fates of various characters are unknown, specifically Celestia, Luna, the Pillars, Shining Armor, Cadance, Cheerilee, Zecora, the Wonderbolts from the show's original time period, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and Sunset Shimmer.
Celestia and Luna are both immortal, through time. The pillars, except for Starswirl, don't seem that old, even the old one was magically wrinkly. Shining armor is probably just old and cadence cannot age too. Cherilee and zecora are similar ages to the main 6. The wonderbolts we knew were probably retired. The cakes could be dead and sunset is also similar age to the main 6.
I still cry every time I hear that last song. I definitely see Fluttercord as canon now, but also Appledash. They're clearly living together, but they act like they're married too.

According to series director Jim Miller, Discord impersonating Grogar was planned from the beginning of Season 9, as they wanted Chrysalis, Tirek and Cozy Glow to be the main antagonists of the finale because they had more of a personal connection to the main characters. The defeat of the Mean 3 was also meant to be symmetrical to Discord's battle with Celestia and Luna and later his defeat in Season 2.
There were a few hints that "Grogar" was Discord in disguise: • Discord didn't seem at all surprised in "The Beginning of The End" when he read Twilight's letter of King Sombra's return. • In "The Summer Sun Setback", Discord watched as Twilight was with her friends, then said how she might be ready for whatever comes next. • Grogar knew a lot about Twilight, her friends and the countless times they have saved Equestria. This is a little odd as when most villains debut, they have no knowledge of Twilight or her friends. • Grogar's first appearance was very convenient, appearing straight after Celestia and Luna announced their retirement.
Yeah, they were basically acting like a married couple too, whether or not they actually got married, that's the vibe they have. I get that he was too busy reacting to their designs to hear what they were saying, but I still wanted to see what he would say about it. Also since it seems like Fluttershy and Discord are living together in some way, even if portals are involved.

Especially since Cozy Glow was just a child, and we don't know who/what made her that way. Did Twilight even contact her parents? What does her family think of what happened to her? People (and ponies) can definitely have a dark past but become amazing, happy, and kindhearted people in the future. I know people who have been evil in the past, but because sweet and loving people. I'd hate to imagine if they were just killed for what they did instead of getting the chance to become the beautiful people they are today.

Like we all know that she believes that friendship is power and draining all the magic and Equestria will get her more friends. More friends equal power, power equals domination. But what if hear me out. She didn't want to conquer Equestria or Force everyone to be her friends. What she truly wanted was to have a family and I think she wants more to get rid of all the magic I think she wants to make everyone in Equestria and Beyond to suffer the pain like she did.
