I absolutely love Kool & The Gang! I saw them on stage back in 1976 at Kutztown University when they were touring their Open Sesame recording. They were playing opposite of The Blackbyrds feat. Dr. Donald Byrd. Can you imagine hearing Hollywood Swinging and Rock Creek Park all in the same evening? This video is magnificent in that it represents some of the finest moments in music history with the absolute best!! ❤✌🏽✊🏽
I first saw the original “The Magnificent 7” aka Kool and the Gang at the Apollo when they simply stood and played magnificently and have been in love with their music since. My favorites from back in the day… “Chocolate Buttermilk” and “Fruitman.” Seen them last week at AC and was so glad I did. Kool is the last OG still standing and may they finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for they are well overdue. Amen
At least 4 of the guys on that stage are gone RIP the best live band ever... rest in peace Khalis, DT, Charles and Clifford ❤ much love for all the music you made 🙏
The first time I saw them was at a lounge on Farmers Blvd in Queens NYC, my brother snuck me in under his coat, they played wonderfully and I'm still a fan today, I love these cats, they are the epitome of Kool, thank you for posting this treasure.☯️👊🙏

And what facing? And what brand of reeds back in that period I'm assuming Rico Royal, Rico, or la VOZ , those were the most common reeds in the '70s. Hopefully someone can pass this along . I know that Mr Ronald khalif bell passed away my condolences. But if someone know s that information I would really appreciate the saxophone setup thank you My name is Tony Harris.

Who else thought the poster didn’t know the name of the club?🏳️🌈
what year was this. I see charles white is still there, didn't he pass in 2012 or 2013?
2003 or 2004 Charles Claydes Smith died June 2006
He died in January 2007, no?
I think segment s of this have been recorded different times . Clifford on Trombone has passed away also a few years ago .

Dope but the wrong drummer for this era of Kool and the Gang
This video is close to twenty years old , I don’t know what you mean by comparing drummers. Actually some drummers know days overplay.
@@jalebjaba1487 i meant that this particular drummer wasn't playing the early Kool and the Gang stuff with the correct feel
@@andycooper75 George Brown is the original drummer that played on the early albums!!!!
@@rwyatt26 i know, i wished this drummer could have played more like Funky George
George Brown IS the original drummer. Your comment makes no sense.
