Seriously Nutn, you can make anything interesting. I have no plans to get a travel trailer but I’m still entertained none the less. You and your family’s attitude on living life to the fullest inspires me every time I watch one of your vids. Keep making them and I’ll keep watching them. 👍🏻

I would get the stabilizer. One it takes weight off the hitch so your front tires don't float. Two safety reasons it will keep the trailer from swaying from side to side avoiding a accident.

I boondock all of the time in my Airstream 190 class B. When the factory generator went out and they wanted almost six grand to replace it, Honda was my generator of choice. I needed at least 2800 watts to run the AC. I looked at the Honda 3000, but decided on two Honda 2000's for the simple reason of weight. The 2000s weigh under 50 pounds each. I bought the cable from Honda to pair them together. One of them I bought with the 30 amp plug. I also have a VW Westfalia that does not require a 30 amp plug. So when I go camping in the VW, I take that one. I also purchased a 15 gallon gas tank and a device that feeds both generators with fuel at the same time so that I do not have to fill the generators with gas so often. All of this fits into a lockable box on the swivel trailer behind the class B. With the trailer, I can back into any parking spot without having to worry about jack-knifing the trailer. I saved over 600 pounds by taking out the factory generator, which gives me space for tools, and floor jack, and I saved over $4000. I can also lift each of the generators by myself because of the saved weight over the 3000 watt generator, and it made the system more versatile for use with other camping vehicles or tent camping.

Just bought a forest river 16 BHS. Loving it so far. 3.1k MT, 4K GTWR. Towing it initially with a Ford Explorer. WDH is worth it, first I’ve ever used. Planning on adding a 2nd propane & battery & solar. Most trailer makers have their own forums for good info. BTW, square head screws are Robertson screws.

This explains why there haven't been any tent reviews in a few years! Unfortunately I can't throw a trailer on my back and disappear into the mountains for a few days. Trailer accessible sites are too over crowded here. Wish you had some time to do some updated tent reviews for those of us still backpacking. Keep up the good work!

For weight distribution we use Anderson Hitch. It's both weight distributing and anti-sway. Not a huge addition of weight but makes our tow vehicle ride level and safe. If you go with the Andersen, have the mounting brackets welded to the frame. I can send you pics of ours if you ask.

Hey all, just a point of reference. Class b motorhomes are essentially motorhomes fully contained in a large van body. Class c motorhomes are the oversized motorhome built on a van frame with the bunk overhanging the front cab. Class c is pictured in the video. Just clarifying for anyone shopping for a rig and wanting to know the different options.

Nutn something is wrong with your outdoor shower. Your pump should put enough pressure for that shower to work just as with full hook up. I use ours all the time to wash gear and for help cleaning butchering during deer season. Keeps the mess down inside the camper. A folding plastic table and cutting board setup right under that is just as good to bone out and pack up our kill in coolers till we get home to freeze or can the meat. Also keeps the gray water from filling up too quick.

If Nutn wasn't being so positive throughout I would have guessed this to be a negative review given all the issues.
    >Windows are dainty garbage
    >Insecure locking of storage
    >Insecure locking of main door
    >Water infiltration on popouts into interior
    >Water retention on popouts causing mold
    >Stabilizing legs are not coated and will rust away without constant care
    > Inbuilt shower has zero pressure
    >No integrated security lighting
    >Blackwater tank apparently too incovenant to be serviceable "must pee in bottles"
    >Not picking quality parts "water heater / service doors / blinds"
    >No built in temperature / humidity gauge
    >Uncomfortable sleeping mattress and sofa included
    >Screens whose only job is to keep out insects do not keep out insects
    > Power and USB not arranged ergonomically.
Well Nutn you have thoroughly scared me away from ever buying from this company in all honesty.

for the bed in ouir 2285 we just added a 2" latex soft topper and have great support, no pressure points, and is probably more comfortable than our king sized latex bed at in our home. We got it from a company called sleep on latex.

Great review - great to see a Nutnfancy style review instead of dealers just showing them off. I've been looking at small travel trailers to take around California when I get back from overseas. Lance have been at the top of the list. I was looking at Airstream, but from what I've been reading from some recent owners is that their quality is not what they used to be. Everyone was saying to buy one a few years old so everything has been fixed...which is not acceptable considering how expensive they are.

  • @Edwardmodos
    @Edwardmodos 6 лет назад

I picked up a 2016 Starcraft AR-One (18QB) so my dog could go with me on work contracts, "save money" and be self-contained instead of staying in buggy hotels... or the hassle of renting short term with a dog. I can't say it hasn't been without issue, but on the balance, getting back to "base" after work in a wooded campsite to my dog and familiar territory is worth the hassle. Many of the same features in my 18QB are similar/identical to the Lance. Build quality is an RV issue throughout the industry, the components are built to a low standards regardless of the make. Watch your sealing systems (roof, windows) and have a dehumidifier to keep the moisture down, this is critical, even using mine I had some mold issues. 80% of RVs are manufactured in Indiana, some are great, some are junk, and I say this as an Indiana native. Caveat Emptor. I bought mine a year old used. Used deals with the teething issues sorted are usually a better deal.

I think your "Behind enemy lines" series still holds up and the only thing that would change is newer gear. Your "Urban Survival Kit" series, however id like to ask you to update using all the lessons youve learned since that series was originally made. I think given your audience's general real life POU and the amount of questions im sure you get about EDC, they would get a wealth of good information out of an updated USK series. Especially for the guys who havent been around as long as i have.....

20:05 shower should have more pressure than that. Unscrew the head and look for pieces of plastic that got sucked up from tank when new. Or possibly pinched line. Also check all the sink faucet screens for plastic bits that slow flow.

Right on, I dig what you do and how you do it. Someday, been hoping to do a dive trip to CA. Whats your opinion of the diving?
