    I own a 2013 model and I am glad they haven't changed anything in 5 years. You know the old saying "If it aint broke don't fix it". Also Mr. Baker does a nice job reviewing the trailer.

    Very nice camper. I love that there are several places to put items like long fishing poles and a lot of storage. I also love the slide out in a camper this size and the look and feel of the luxious dinette. Lance went a step above and beyond about something you mentioned, and that is the awening above the slide out. That is so important for all the reasons that you mentioned. NOw, I really liked the video that I watched previously about the fiberglass Airstream, but the Airstream's frig was smaller where this one is bigger. Lance only had a 2 way fridge where Airstream had a 3 way fridge. I liked the bath facilities in the Lance bettter. One thing I would like to see is these manufactures start making these campers a lot more solar friendly. Like adding a small yet expandable solar panel. If they buy in bulk and put them on EVERY camper, it wouldn't add that much to the cost. But then again, most solar crap comes from China and with Trumpty Dumpty's tariffs .... OH well, NVM. Let the China have their solar, I'll cook on wood and sweat ir out.

    Ian, your walk-though was excellent. You demonstrate superior product knowledge of this trailer. Onc thing you did from get go AFTER you showed the specs and base wight was saying the 1575 comes n aorund 3,100 pounds. Thanks for quoting the realistic trailer weight as optioned.

    Like the unit and the features... But I would like tandem axles... A little more weight wouldn't be bad if I could have that

    • @topnotchreviewer1429
      @topnotchreviewer1429 6 лет назад

      The base weight w/o options is aorund 2,650 pounds. Add typical options, and you'll be pushing 3,000 pounds. The Lance 1685 is about a half foot or so longer then the 1575. It also has a tandem axle. The base weight jumps up to something like 3,850 +/- pounds depending on options. That won't work for a vehicle with a 3,700 pound tow capacity. Practically speaking, by the time you load your 1685 with options, water, etc you are well into the 4K range. A 6 cylinder SUV might get away pulling the 1575, but forget about the 1685.

    Can you add a second propane tank to this unit. I know they have this different cover for them could you add a more traditional cover? Also the same with a second battery? It would be nice to do both if not at least one of these modifications

    • @campingworld

      Eric, I would need a tech to look at it and confirm, but with the proper brackets, I feel that it should be possible.

    • @topnotchreviewer1429
      @topnotchreviewer1429 6 лет назад +1

      Eric, do you tow with a pickup? I carry a spare 20lb tank forward in the bad of my truck. I keep it in a milk crate that I bought from Home Depot. You could do away with the shroud and retrofit a twin bottle holder on the tongue. However, the shroun is now gone.
      Here is the solution for your second battery. Install a 100 or 125 amp hour drop in lithium battery. This battery will weigh between 28 to 33 pounds. One, 100 AH flooded or AGM battery comes in around 63-74 pounds. Two of them tips the scales from 126-148 pounds. The 125 amp our lithium battery has about the same amount of electrical energy available as do two, 100 amp hour leaded batteries.
      Look at your weight reduction. 126 pounds down to 33 pounds! Lithium batteries have a higher, upfront cost. In the end it's worth it. I bought a Stark Power battery, but there are several other good brands out there. You will need to make some other tweaks for a lithium system, but believe me, it's worth.

    Is this an all season camper? Enclosed and heated underbelly ?

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  7 лет назад +5

      Arley, while the Lance 1575 does have an enclosed, heated and insulated fresh water tank, it is not truly considered an all season camper (a big part of that is the acrylic windows). Great question and thanks for watching!

    I like the wind sensor feature on the awning. Aluminum wheels not as strong as steel wheels if your in the mountains are rough terrain. Did he say they bolt the frame back together instead of weld? I don't think so. Fail.

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  7 лет назад +3

      Rick, I agree with the wind sensor and you are correct that aluminum wheels aren't quite as strong if traversing rough terrain. You are also correct that I did say it is bolted together. Lance utilizes a huck bolt frame construction. In the event the frame gets damaged, they can cut the huck bolts, remove the damaged frame section, replace it and re-bolt it back together. Obviously there are other factors involved, but overall it is generally quicker and easier to repair than your standard all welded frame. Hope this helps and thanks so much for watching!

    At 10:07 why is the light outlining the outside door access?

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  5 лет назад

      Wow, it does look a little like light shining through, doesn't it? It is actually just a white seal around the storage compartment. If you look closely at your time stamp (10:07) you can see the head of a screw in the white seal by the latch on the door. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

    Where is the battery and what kind is it? Is there room to parallel a couple of them?

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  7 лет назад +1

      The battery is tucked behind the propane tank under the shroud. The type of battery depends on what the dealer install for you. In my experience, generally a standard deep cycle lead acid battery is used unless you specify you want an AGM. Unfortunately on the 1575, there is only room for one battery. Some of the larger Lance travel trailers however are pre-wired for two. Thanks for watching and great question!

    Is the bathroom accessible with the slide closed?

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  7 лет назад +2

      With some minor parkour you can make it happen, lol. In all honesty though, it's a really tight squeeze and isn't very practical with the slide closed. That being said, it is a slider door on the bathroom, so if you open the slide about a foot or so, it is plenty to sneak past it. Great question and thanks for watching!

    • @topnotchreviewer1429
      @topnotchreviewer1429 6 лет назад

      The 1575 has a terrific floor plan. When the slide is out, it is so open and beats to pieces other similar sized trailers such as the R-Pod. However, one trade off to achieve what Lance Mfg. pulled off is that the bathroom is blocked when the slide is in. As CW said above, move the slide ou8t abou8 a foot.

      Perhaps you should know the products you sell a little better. Only the 1985 and up have the sliding battery trays.
      Again, where is the battery located on the 1575?

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  7 лет назад +2

      Sorry about that, I went into auto-answer mode. Yes, on the 1575, there are rails for a single battery located behind the propane tank under the shroud.

    I didnt see a sink in the bathroom?

    • @campingworld
      @campingworld  6 лет назад

      Lyndsay, you are correct there is not a sink in the bathroom. When making short floorplans such as this one, manufacturers have to give things up and the bathroom is one of the places that usually feel that the most. Many manufacturers if building a travel trailer this size will utilize a wet bath so you can get everything in the bath because the toilet and sink are in the shower. Lance opted to put in a dry bath, and there just isn't enough room for the sink in this bathroom. Hopefully that helps you understand their logic a little bit. Thanks for watching and excellent question!
