Hi Mike! First, Les grands buffets de Narbonne are well known in France and in Europe generally. The pastry, a cannelé, IS NOT a bread pudding XD. It came from Bordeaux and you have some rhum and vanilla here in the recipe, it's a crêpe pastry. Secondly, Les grands buffets have the most important cheese buffet in France and Europe, so if you are in, I absolutely recommand to try it. You should try Comté or Abondance, I tkink you would like that. Also, if you are in France for some time, you should try Boulom in Paris, a french gastronomic buffet for the same price. Greetings from France!
@@nadinemacdougal6981 That what I wrote, in Paris you have the french traditionnal restaurant Boulom, which is a gastronomic buffet located in an ancient bakery. The owner use bread ovens to cook the food, and the taste is really delicious . For Les Grands Buffets, it's located in the city of Narbonne and it's a great exception, because it's a wonderful buffet. Make sure to do a reservation several days before, even a week before . Generally, in France, traditionnal good restaurants have a short menu. For us, it's a quality guarantee with fresh ingredients. For example, we don't understand american menus, because it's far to long ! Also, if you go in France, don't go to the touristic restaurants. It's overpriced .
I never though I would see Mike in a restaurant I've been to! I've been there a couple of times because I live 40min away, and I have to say it's probably the best quality/price ratio I've ever found in a buffet! If you passby, you must stop for it! And please if you passvy Perpignan, have a stop at few restaurants there and let us know !
I learned about this buffet from Mike’s video today and did some research. It seems Mike is mistaken, there is no time limit of 2 hours. Lunch opens from noon to 4pm, dinner opens their door at 7:15pm and ends at midnight. Is that correct, Morgan D?
A big congratulations to you, Mike, for having discovered Narbonne. We are Americans living in SW France, and Narbonne is one of our very favorite places to visit. What an amazing, historic town! We didn't know about this buffet, but we'll definitely make a beeline for it next time we go there. Narbonne has a fabulous indoor covered market, too, BTW. With some classic cafés within it. Mikey: the Grand Buffet in Narbonne has been on my bucket list for a while. The price is right at about €47. Of course you mentioned a few negatives. Difficult to get a reservation! The 2 hour time limit is a big, big problem because when you order a special dish you may have to wait 20 minutes & you can only order one per person at a time! I do agree that it's a good idea to go several times & concentrate on just certain food categories, like desserts or seafood or charcuterie or cheese categories that you don't have to specialty made or wait in line! Well you could just eat anything else from the buffet right while you wait? Such a beautiful looking restaurant it’s an attraction on its own & at only €50 for this quality and variety is the most amazing value for money….Mikey looked stressed due to time limit and only able to squeeze in 1 serving of Lobster

Good to know - if you travel to Narbonne, plan to stay 3 days for the buffet! So affordable too. I read this buffet won a Guinness Book World Record for the most cheese in 1 place (on their website) OMG 😳

I've waited for years for you to come to my country. So happy that you had a good time Mike. You should definitely try a good parisian pastry aswell, gonna blow your mind
this is why in cooking school, i always personally leaned more towards french cooking versus english. english is more about measurements and strict recipes and rules or exactness, where alot of creativity virbrancy and flavors originated in alot of french cooking.
I would love to take a woman around the world to places like this. The last time I was in the South of France it was one of the best experiences of my life.
Eating my food with Mikey is always such a treat that makes the food I eat taste better. I just finished left over Panang curry and a mini pecan pie for desert. We took our shiba puppy to the beach today, gave her a bath. This was a good video with dinner to end the day on. 😁
Just want to confirm if there's really a 2 hour time limit? The website says that dinner starts at 7:15pm (can enter anywhere from 7:15pm to 9:15pm) and closes at 12am midnight.
I'm wondering what the French must have been thinking as he chows down his meal "why is zhis monsieur talking while he eats" or "use zhe fork and knife monsieur"
Nothing screams decadence like Christina dipping Iberico ham into Beluga caviar. It was SO much fun seeing Mikey blown away by how good everything was...yeah, I'm jealous and now hungry, too!

Didn't seem all that great, was very elegant looking but the food seem ok, he mostly got cold cuts, cheese and some made to order dishes and dessert overload, didn't see any seafood or meats other than one...is it only me?
@@marilynalvarez9951 No seafood ? Fresh oysters, lobster in several preparations, crab, shrimps, sardines, caviar, and he didn't get everything that was served. Not sure we watched the same vid, he says it's the best buffet he's ever been to. Given how many buffets he has been to, I'd say it's probably all very good. What's true though is the lobster has to be frozen and not freshly caught, because fresh lobster is now very rare and thus expensive on the french coasts. These lobsters probably were caught near canadian coasts.
@@lolilollolilol7773 I was just saying that there IS a lot of seafood but Mike nor Christine seemed to enjoy/gotten any of it, they mostly had cold cuts, cheeses and some of the made per person dishes, they didn't even get any of the mentioned seafood which I think is the reason to go to such an extravagant buffet.

Yes, it was low quality caviar, but then again, not many buffets offer caviar. And I suspect the lobsters weren't that good either. Good lobster is *very* expensive in France (in the hundreds of € a piece), so these ones were fished in northern Atlantic near Canada and frozen. Not nearly as good as french lobster that has been freshly caught, but much cheaper. OTOH, I'm pretty sure the foie gras were high quality, as was the meat in general, and of course the cheeses and desserts.

That buffet is amazing, but I was also blown away by the architecture. That cathedral looked amazing. I'd visit there just to see that.
I'm French and have never been to France. I'm saving this video because the buffet is now on my bucket list. Great job.
When it comes to food&travel video.., Mikey is simply the best! 😋👍
Watching your videos make me happy. I can't wait to travel and eat good food one day too!
Such a beautiful looking restaurant it’s an attraction on its own & at only €50 for this quality and variety is the most amazing value for money….Mikey looked stressed due to time limit and only able to squeeze in 1 serving of Lobster
Anybody know what is the name of this buffet places ?
@@rudymasato2968 it’s in the description, “Les Grands Buffets” in Narbonne, France
According to their website there is no time limit on it.
@@bonclymew5069 Thank you and sorry I didn’t opened
@@meat_loves_wasabi Thank You 🙏
Not only does the food look world-class, but the decor is gorgeous
The interior is gorgeous and I love the way they arranged the food items. Going there will definitely be on my bucket list.
You've added a new place to my bucket list everything looked soooo good. That Lobster tower literally made my jaw drop. I love buffets where you can tell each dish is top restaurant quality.
Good to know - if you travel to Narbonne, plan to stay 3 days for the buffet! So affordable too. I read this buffet won a Guinness Book World Record for the most cheese in 1 place (on their website) OMG 😳
love , Love , Love , your reaction when trying the food , The best part of the video
This type of content is valuable. Stuff you probably wouldn't hear about unless you really searched it out, and even then you wouldn't get a very thorough tour of everything.
" This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life!" I can't stop watching it I keep backing up to listen to you say that! The sheer joy and wonderment in your voice is palpable. I follow you all around the world living vicariously through you. Keep up the good work sir.
That just looks CRAZY in the best way. Looks like you and Miss Christine were as happy as it gets here, and that price is indeed amazing for what you got!
I can't believe he got married. Guess I haven't been watching as much.
@@janvdb9258 I think we were all surprised when that happened, for sure! Even though I'm an evolutionary dead end who will never find anybody, I can still be happy for them. 🙂
Wow that buffet looks like heaven on earth! You are right, have to spend like 5 days there to experience all the goodness. It’s the Disney World of food. And for under $50 so amazing!
I've waited for years for you to come to my country. So happy that you had a good time Mike. You should definitely try a good parisian pastry aswell, gonna blow your mind
He already has, a while ago.
this is why in cooking school, i always personally leaned more towards french cooking versus english. english is more about measurements and strict recipes and rules or exactness, where alot of creativity virbrancy and flavors originated in alot of french cooking.
I would love to take a woman around the world to places like this. The last time I was in the South of France it was one of the best experiences of my life.
Watching at 5 am while eating a fried egg sandwich. I wish I could just do one buffet trip with Mikey. That’s a bucket list item.
Omg I must go to this buffet Mikey. I’m drooling right now. Thanks for the video as always.
Eating my food with Mikey is always such a treat that makes the food I eat taste better. I just finished left over Panang curry and a mini pecan pie for desert. We took our shiba puppy to the beach today, gave her a bath. This was a good video with dinner to end the day on. 😁
In no time I'm already drooling over FRENCH LOBSTER BUFFET
Wish I can just grab it out of the screen and chow down
Just want to confirm if there's really a 2 hour time limit? The website says that dinner starts at 7:15pm (can enter anywhere from 7:15pm to 9:15pm) and closes at 12am midnight.
Thanks for sharing France fabulous French buffet! It’s looks delicious & yummy.
Words out of my mouth. Lol.
Yeah, nothing screams "out of the way, peasants" more. 😁
I cannot fathom how that would taste good together. Money cannot buy taste.
@@janvdb9258 it’s a buffet, dude. You emphasise on value and efficiency more than anything else.
Hi! I have a Food Vlog in Orlando Florida, would love it if you would check it out! Thanks! I've been paying a couple hundred per month in Google Ads, but trying any option I can to get the word out!
I had the chance to try this buffet a couple of years ago, that was simply amazing, definitely tbe best one i've ever tried in my life ! Too bad the price has recently been augmented but I don't care, I would absolutly want to try it once more !
U should come to peniche (Portugal). Some of the best fish in the world. Fresh out the boat to the restaurants. Fresh Sardines on a fire. U cant beat that
Portuguese food Rocks .. yummy 😋 😋
That sounds truely epic and worth a trip!

12:50 classic mike drinking french soup like its Ramen LMAO
That duck pastry looked soooo good. And the variety in the fancy salami section looked heavenly. And honestly, super cheap.
This really looks like the best buffet you’ve ever been too. And for just $50 it’s worth the price for sure
I wanna go there and spend three days eating 🍽 there to try everything at least once. I am a buffet connoisseur and I have been dreaming about this place.. Thank you Mike for sharing with all of us… I saw you wanting clap your hands and dance that how food should taste, all components of making a delicious dish of food should make one want to stand up, clap,
and dance. And when I see other individuals do that “you know.” Again thank you for taking us along. I am inspired and love that you appreciate what good foods are all about… and that’s Awesome 😎 and worthy of watching to learn from the Best. Many blessings, positive vibes and positive thoughts…😊
You make me want to book a flight to France just to go to the buffet - food looks so delicious and fresh -I would have to go a few times to be sure I covered everything ❤
It’s the mother ship of all buffets! Wow!
"This tastes like something you would order from an awesome restaurant," he said, while eating it in an awesome restaurant.
I love that Mike suffers through these things so we don't have to. 😁
8:01 "Well, there's a scale you get on. I guess you can weigh yourself before and after. YEAH, WE'RE NOT DOING THAT." 😂😂😂
Oh Mikey and the breath-taking Christine, so so glad you went to France together and tasted how The French do buffets. I loved your Las Vegas videos, however compared with this dining experience, the viewer (me and millions of others) can see a world of difference between the American and European style.
I was with you all the way, wishing someone would come over to your table and say "time is unlimited" and we could see Mike on attack mode! As always keep safe and thank you for the joy and love you both bring to this world X X X
I learned about this buffet from Mike’s video today and did some research. It seems Mike is mistaken, there is no time limit of 2 hours. Lunch opens from noon to 4pm, dinner opens their door at 7:15pm and ends at midnight.
oh my gosh,I want to go there for a month just for that experience. Thank you and these great videos that lets us travel too. Take care and stay safe you two,as always your biggest fan from Arkansas 👍🏻😉❤️
Looks amazing. Impressive decor , impressive quality of the preparation and food. Especially for price !! High quality buffet nowadays go for 150$ and might not be as good
If only I could travel like the dumpling master, & eat like him 🤩🤩🤩
Maybe one day

Love your videos Mike, they always make me hungry at 1am :)
LOL ME TO
I am ready to sell my house and head to France lol .You have really put the hurt on my taste buds now. I gotta do that buffet.
This was my fave video of late. I'm hoping to visit friend in Paris at some point next year and will definitely do this buffet.
Same, fav video of his lately
As an American who has lived in France for a while, I had never heard of this buffet before, even though I've had a lot of this food. I'm absolutely salivating right now. This looks incredible.
You have to book six month in advance
LoL I feel like getting on a midnight flight to go to this buffet 🤤 good job finding this place Mikey 👍
Mikey said 'no numbers on the menu to order' must speak/read French. lol. This ain't your typical chinese take out restaurant. lol
Hey just wanted to say I love your videos I’ve been watching for a while now and you have really helped me to not be scared of trying new food because you make everything you eat seem so good. From the pickiest water ever Thank you!!!
Do you need to make a reservation?
Didn't think it possible. TWO, repeat TWO fisted hand thumps from Mikey - THE ultimate endorsement from Mikey. Mikey Chen, overwhelmed. WOW. Bucket list.
Now this is worth going to France. This is on my bucket list.
Alright Mr. Mike, you watch the youtubers with mansions, money, cars etc....you are the only one I am jealous of. Travel the world and eat the best food. Absolutely amazing
This buffet is massive! So many dishes to taste
Anyone else been eagerly waiting for this one with all the hype Mike was giving?
Hi! I have a Food Vlog in Orlando Florida, would love it if you would check it out! Thanks! I've been paying a couple hundred per month in Google Ads, but trying any option I can to get the word out!
Mikey! When caviar is very briny (vs buttery, like you said) it's usually low quality! But that makes sense at a buffet
You know it's gonna a be a marathon when the waiter gives you a map upon seating 💕
By far the most excellent buffet I've ever seen!!! Thank-you for sharing your experience with me!👍❤😸
Mike's adoration for pre-bought thaw n serve desserts is off the charts....I'd love to take him to a vendor food show, he'd be in heaven.
I am sure they contract out some but some just cannot be frozen
@@janvdb9258 oh no doubt, lots of these are handmade, I more meant in general 😄 Mike would be the #1 salesman for Sweet Streets or Rich's no problem if youtube ever failed....

Yes, I would totally go on holiday there just to enjoy that buffet 🤤
I love France so much. I’ve had a lot of fun in Normandy, but I also have had some great visits to Arcachon and Bordeaux. Only been to Paris once or twice, but I like the country side better
Normandy is great, Bretagne is awesome, as well as Savoie for the amazing Alps scenery, Alsace for that traditional german influence, the region of Lyon for its food and roman influence, and of course Provence and the Cote d'Azur. Ah and the Pyrénées too.
Yeah plenty of beautiful countryside in France :)

I am addicted to your channel! You are such a likable presence. I have to admit that I never thought that I am a picky eater but you put me to shame! I'm from the upper Midwest and maybe that explains my limited palette. I've lived in different areas of the US, and have adopted many different foods to my repertoire. I'm envious of your eclectic tastes. Keep those videos coming!
Bienvenue en France 🇫🇷 mon ami
I’m not a buffet guy but it looks 🔥 !
Cheers from San Diego California
This buffet is officially on my bucket list. and you really can't beat that price, holy moly!
Only MC leaves the one of the best food cities in the world in search of the best buffet in the Universe! I watch all the food channels and never saw this place. It’s like finding the lost city of Atlantis. Bravo!
There are some videos on "Les Grands Buffets" in french. I mentionned this buffet in one of the comments a few months ago but I doubt Mike read it.
the bread is a frozen bread , it is known here that's the way they have all those shops . still better than a lot of places
Lol I would totally host my wedding reception there . The classiest buffet ever lol !!
There is not one serious scientific proof for AthleticGreens.
Oh dearest food gods ... please grant my wish to be experiencing the delicious food in this video 😋 ..
This is definitely now on my bucket list. Looks absolutely amazing!
Did that sign have the price? It can't be only 50 euros. I've paid $35 for half-assed American breakfast buffets (hotels). That spread can't be only 50 euros!?
Edit - ha! I had stopped the video mid-point and now see that the price is 42 euros, confirmed. Even cheaper and an amazing value.
