Suggestion on the filter... I know this is an older video, but what the hell.... I would have taken the outlet & inlet and faced them down. No water (rain would get sucked in while driving). Then take a drill and drilled two holes in each one... making a "+" pattern. Then go to lowe's and get a good quality furnace filter, cut into 2 1/4" circles and shove into the pipes. You'd get plenty of them out of a filter and changeable on the trail if needed... Definitely the best build that I've seen so far.. VERY simple, love your idea.
Nice build! how's the throttle response now that the intake is noticeably longer? Also did you just seal the coupler to the flex hose with a hose clamp and no type of sealant?
+mrtosh I have not seen any difference in performance with the intake changes and I did not use any sealant for the flex hose and boots, just made sure they were good and tight. Good luck with your build.
+mrtosh No problems with the suction hose, it has a pvc coil inside. I almost gave up trying to find the hose at a price I could find and finally ran across some at local place Rural King, which is a chain store.
I am a new commander owner as of January 16 and was wondering how to snorkel my machine, now i know, thanks. great video also, not sure everyone will understand the lingo used like "street elbows" like i do being familiar with the plumbing world, but hopefully the guys at the hardware can help them out.
+Albert Breech When I was building the snorkel I went to lowes and bought about $200 in couplers about 4 of every 2" type, because I did not know how things would be routed. Once the build was done I returned all the unused parts for a refund. I hope your build turns out well, thanks for the comment please share & subscribe.
sorry for all the noob questions but I found some 2" spa hose that's pretty thick hut has a temp rating of 150*. Do you think that would be sufficient enough of a heat rating?
+Rene Sanchez (SKIDMARKS) I have tested the engine intake system by capping the inlet while running and it quickly pulls a vacuum and dies. the rest I have confidence in by how I constructed and assembled the system. Thanks for the comment, Please Share & Subscribe.
whats up brother. looking for ideas for my 15 maverick. i do miss the commander dump box but trading that for the trophy truck type suspension was a no brainer in the Pa. woods. Just started my 25th year, wow times go quick. IAFF for life
Have not had a problem with any melting of appearance of heat damage in the year it has been installed. Thanks for the comment, please Share & Subscribe.
Aeesome ingenuity well built and thought out.. gona do something similarl however what about trans and diff vents what did you do with those?

don't suppose you have a parts list of what to buy .. how many fittings/connections/sizes etc? great work!
How long have you had this installed now? Have you had any issues with the flex hose collapsing from the heat of the motor? Thanks for the vid!
Going on 4 years with no issues. The only difficult part is sealing the air box after cleaning the air filter.
So you run no filter at all?
Motorcycle air filters work great for the intakes u r talking about. Amazon and there $16 for 4 of them
You happen to be able to give a parts list as to how many 90's, fernco's etc that's needed?

+msfirefighter662 Excellent! Thanks again!
Have you had any melting or deformity issues with the vacuum hose? Does that have a metal coil in it? Trying to find it locally.

+msfirefighter662 Is it just listed as vacuum hose?
Is there any way to get a parts list for this
Also is that heat tape the hvac aluminum foil? Trying to build snorkels on my xds Maverick. Thanks in advance!
+mrtosh It is HVAC tape from lowes and seems to be holding up well so far. Thanks for the comment, Please Share & Subscribe.
If you're looking for a good pre filter Outerwear and K&N make nice little pre filters that would fit over the openings.
+mrtosh Thanks for the suggestion, I will check them out. Please Share & Subscribe.

+mrtosh I bet will do just fine, as long as the machine is running the piping is being cooled by the air flowing through it.
+msfirefighter662 I was thinking more for the cvt exhaust side.
once its all put together how do you test it?

I have not have a problem with it yet. Thanks for the comment, please Share & Subscribe.
And then it melts
