Bleach has always been great. However, the Anime is literally the worst way to consume the show and in the early 2ks that was how most people consumed Bleach. I'm just happy Bleach is back.
Bleach was one of my first anime which has over 300 episodes (besides Naruto and DBZ kai) And loved it from start to finnish especially the MC (Ichigo) I don't why exactly I like him as a character but I do and I'm regretting and the side character to, as a series overall it's a solid 8/10 or maybe a 9/10 but because I love this series that much I give it a 10/10, to describe it in one word well... it's just AMAZING
One thing I would add that got people so excited for Bleach’s return is Kubo’s direct involvement in the anime and adding things he couldn't add before like flashbacks, training, and a whole new fight and Bankai. In addition, he's gone from just casually interacting with staff and answering some questions to now in cour three where he helped draw storyboards, sitting in on dubbing with voice acting to convey the emotions of the characters, to personally choosing the opening and ending for the season for the new season. Side note mentioning Tekken is so funny since the director Harada mentioned recently that Bleach is his favorite manga.
I hate to be one of those people, but I was carrying the torch for bleach for years before it suddenly became popular again. To be fair, I have very specific reasons for my love of the series. That said it is gratifying to see people seemingly just now coming to realize what I, and many others, have been saying for years. In 2015-2016 when my life was falling apart and I was living out of a car, or a cheap motel if I was lucky, reading bleach gave me a few minutes every week where I had something I could still be excited about, something that made me happy when basically nothing else did. Then throughout the years it was one of the series that my brother and I both love that helps us feel connected living on opposite sides of the country. Even now, when things are hard, bleach is still giving me things to look forward to. When my mom first got sick TYBW cour 1 was coming out, cour 2 came out a few months after she died, cour 3 is coming out in a few weeks, right after I had to have my dog I have had for the past 12 years put to sleep. TBH I kind of hope I don't need to continue having personal tragedies every time something cool about bleach is being released, but right now I am just glad it is back getting the respect it always deserved. (Also, lost agent is the best arc. Fight me.)
Bro I Felt this too much. I was chewed out for carrying that torch by people for years lol. Like you ive had some shitty things happen during the ending and now the comeback of Bleach. It has remained one of the few things in my life that I will always be happy seeing, whether manga panels or the show. Hope things turn around for ya!! Sorry for the losses.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I’m sorry to hear about all that. I had to say goodbye to my dog a few years ago and it was rough to say the least. I’m glad to see Bleach can be so uplifting for you.
Yea I feel honestly bleach became one of my favourite shows because of the fact that I had just moved from my home of 9 years (I was 11 when i moved) to a country (my home country) that I had nothing but resentment for which only grew as i spent more time in school and with the people here. The bleach themes of being forced into an environment you aren't familiar with and fighting against those you could never imagine challenging resonated with me deeply. The betrayal in the lost agent arc also just killed me because of how lonely and how much of an outsider i felt like in my own home country. Bleach just feels like home everytime I watch it and I hope that feeling never fades
People don't understand the slander Bleach fans dealt with. Even now half of every comment section about bleach shits on it in some way, and that's the best ratio we've had in a decade. It used to feel like 1000 of us against the world. With like 3 content creators max defending the series. And one of those just stopped talking about it at all soon after the manga ended.
Yeah, it's annoying to see people slandering a series only to glaze it the moment that's the popular consensus. No fun arguing with people with second hand opinions.
I mean there wasn't much Tekking could do. He isnt really a super in-depth analyst like DBZimran or MrTommo, so he moved onto other series that he enjoyed and were still updating. I'm just happy he didn't do a 180 and begin shitting on bleach in favor of one piece
That's what happens when the series is too smart for lowly casuals to understand. I have always considered Bleach to be the best of the big three, the writing and art are simply that much better when compared to Naruto and even One Piece. And while One piece deserves a place beside Bleach, Naruto has been overrated since forever. Possibly because of how much simpler and easy to understand Naruto is
Thank you for calling out eyepatch wolf, the same eyepatch wolf who very much dismissed yozakura family, basically calling the concept a copy pasted of Spy x Family, when the only similarties are a family of spies. And now won't even admit how wrong he was about yozakura family.
@@Lasherluke Even after all the great Bleach analysis videos that have come out in the last 5 years, him and his fans would still say they were right about Bleach citing his horrible Bleach videos(yes even the new one has most of his shit takes).
Chapter 8 of Yozakura family has a guy through a truck at a helicopter with a flick of a finger. This is totally spy x family. Both series are great but very differently from the start. Thats like saying that Gundam and maccross (the later ones) are the same.😂
Nah, a totally wrong conclusion to put Yozakura family and Spyxfamily in similar term.😅 Clearly doesn't read the whole manga . For me, yozakura family more keen to kyo deepers as they both revolve around bloodline power in family
Of course the man did a redux were the first 15mins was all he needed then basically redid his old video and still completely misread and or didn't care to look at it again. Although I call him super grifterpatch
Bleach WAS cut short, but not by WSJ. It was by Kubo himself who started experiencing health issues during the latter parts of TYBW which caused it to be rushed. That’s why he’s so involved in he anime, he’s adding back in everything he wanted to all those years ago.
There has been a lot of misinformation on Bleach over the years and it doesn't help that much of it was echoed around when it first ended. As said in the video, Bleach was never cancelled but it did come to a hasty conclusion due to Kubo's health. In an interview, Jump gave him the option to choose to end in 1 or 2 years and he choose to end it about 1. Kubo also didn't hate his editor and as far as I know, his editor thinks really highly of Kubo. After Bleach ended and his editor became editor in chief, he convinced Kubo to publish the Burn the Witch one shot which not has potential to be another series. Toriyama also never sent Kubo a letter of encouragement because Bleach never got rejected. It got 1st for it's one shot and was approved for serialization. Over the years, there are more interviews with Kubo that has come out that help debunk previously spread misinfo.
Most of this happened because Kubo and his editors aren't very vocal about these issues and so they never brought to light the inner workings of the franchise pretty much ever. So speculation and theory became fact and everyone ran with it.
@@343JustMe That's true but also small one off statements get misinterpreted and blown out of proportion. Like Kubo made a joke about One Piece doing better and it led to rumors of Kubo hating Oda.
@@tengoodquestions because people are reluctant to praise anything else because of the hate it got. it's always about the drip, art or designs when in fact you can talk about things like themes, foreshadowing and so on.
@@Castiel_01x completely agree, like let's talk about ichigo being a quincy in the very first chapter rukia wanted to lend over half of her power to ichigo but he sucked it all up, which race absorbs spiritual energy? quincies then we have ichigo absorbing and releasing the energy of a cero in the same arc and his bedsheets having the quincy cross soul society arc has zangetsu explaining how to fly but he explains it in the quincy way (solidifying reishi into platforms instead of making them out of his reiatsu), the same zangetsu stopped ichigo's bleeding against kenpachi (blut vene) in karakura town arc aizen says "you're the offspring of a shinigami and a.." but is interrupted there are like 2 more foreshadows yet people say it was an asspull in the last arc it's so frustrating
It genuinely pissed me off how many bleach haters switched up after tybw was announced and became one of the most anticipated and hype anime of it's season
I think the reason why people are starting to like bleach is cuz of the audiences evolution, back when it came out bleach felt weird in the anime media compared to a stretchy pirate finding a treasure, a knucklehead ninja becoming hokage. We didn’t really have bleach’s target audience back then, but now with the rise of anime like demon slayer, jjk and chainsaw man, the anime industry are really open and interested in series with somewhat of a bleach formula
In fact, in the era of the Big 3, which is from 2000 to 2011, Bleach was more popular than One Piece both in Japan and in the West and you can verify that with metrics and statistics from those years. It was in 2012 when Bleach fell due to different circumstances and One Piece took over and the popularity that Bleach has today is not even close to what it was at the time before 2012, so you can understand the popularity that Bleach had is Its era was equivalent to what Jujutsu Kaisen has today.
@@gagogagos2265Name a statistic were Bleach out performs either OP or Naruto especially OP between 2001-12. OP was the best selling manga in Japan in 10 out of the 12 years, with NANA and Death Note having the last 2 years. Through out it's serialization (2002 to 2016) Bleach never out sold OP, and outsold Naruto just once in 2009. OP sold over 200m in that period, Naruto over 100m and bleach around 65m. In terms of movies, OP Strong World (2009) alone made more than all 4 Bleach movies combined, it's next movie released in 2012, Z,made even more than that. Strong World and Z combined made more than all 7 Naruto movies + 4 Bleach movies released by 2012 combined. In fact, all the 10 other OP movies and all 7 Naruto movies released in that time period made more than any Bleach movie ever. Then in terms of the anime through every audience metric, OP was over Naruto and Bleach. In fact Naruto and Bleach were published by the same studio and released on the same channel and block with Naruto far surpassing Bleach in audience ratings. So while Bleach was and is undoubtedly a mammoth in the manga and anime space still being one of the top 10 WSJ manga ever, even now, it pales in comparison to Naruto and OP. OP, in particular, was a juggernaut never before seen and broke every single Japanese record in that time period. In the West, instead of OP being insanely dominant, it was Naruto, with Naruto alone accounting for 30% of all manga sales in the US between 2006 and 2009, selling over 4m copies in those 4 years while Bleach sold about 1.5m and OP about 0.6m. Naruto was by far the most searched for anime in the 2000s and was dominant in the US (both anime and manga) in a way that has never been seen before or since. So while Bleach was over OP, Naruto dwarfed both by a significant margin So you don't have to bring the other 2 if the big 3 to prop Bleach up, Bleach is amazing in its own right, it did amazing numbers by itself, so don't bring false narratives into the mix to make Bleach feel better
Not to mention, most of the issues people had with Bleach were introduced in the anime. The Studio made some questionable decisions. I too had found myself irritated by this show until the long hiatus made me read the manga. And the difference slapped me silly. The manga is one of the best shonen works to date.
My only true let down on the manga was that I never got to see Halibel get saved, cause she was my favorite character back in the day, alongside Gin. Nowadays, as I mature, Orihime has skyrocketed and become not only my favorite character but my muse. A true role model on how you can smile and look at the bright side of things even after going through Hell and back, since she was a baby.
I think one of the things that people fail to understand about bleach is alot of the hidden undertones and sutble aspects about bleach, such as Shunsui's bankai, alot of people just saw it as plays being brought to life but if you look at it comparing it to his backstory you'll realise that it is actually bringing tragadies in his life into the form of attacks. First attack "Hesertating sharing of the wound"= Him and his brother sharing the same pain about losing nanao's mother Second attack "bed of shame"= representing his brother falling ill. Third attack "dango's abyass"= representing his drowning sorro of all the tragady in his life.
Bleach just oozes style in such an unapologetic way on every page that you can't help but feel passionate about it. The only mangaka that comes close to Kubo in this regard is Air Gear's Oh Great!
For some reason, no one wants to call out the role Naruto and one piece fans played in spreading misinformation about bleach and actively preventing potential fans from watching bleach due to their immaturity. I love Naruto (I'm not much of a one piece fan) but I hated bleach because I was a naruto fan and people who introduced me to naruto actively tried to make me hate bleach without even trying it out. Ironically, the ridiculous hatred for bleach was exactly what made me try it out and now I prefer it to naruto. It's ridiculous how low people go for horrible reasons
@@hxlobeatsIronically, Kubo is like the Steph Curry of Shonen Jump, he's pretty much the reference of a lot of new gen shonen mangakas from akutami, horikoshi, Tabata and many more, from technical standpoint of character design, world design, and even writing styles, just like curry with his threes, he made the shonen jump formula extremely efficient but just as compelling as it's contemporaries and that's something I think he has the biggest impact he had given compare to the two of the big three, he changed the game of shonen jump(I'm saying this while not even being a big fan of kubo), I mean there's also a reason Narita Ryohgo(Baccano and Durarara) is one of his biggest fans, that must mean he's doing something right
Im pretty interested to see how cour 3 and 4 of tybw is gonna be adapted since this section of the manga was extremely rushed, so we're about to see a whole lot of anime original stuff here, im pretty hyped
It wasn’t that rushed overall. There’s some things that could use some more general explanation (something they are already doing in cour 1 and 2), but the actual extremely rushed part is just the last 5 chapters. That’s where things go off the rails, but we won’t get to that before cour 4.
@@Dragonpuncher123to me it's more like stuff starts feeling kinda off when the whole shinigamis go to the soul palace, not everything of course but there are some details like Lille defeating most of them off camera or Ikkaku/Yumichika not doing anything, etc etc. Like I feel there were things meant to be shown but plans changed at some point. But that's just my theory, we'll see if it's true when anime adapts that part hehe. But knowing Kubo, starting the arc, said it would last 10 years only to last 5...just tells us something 🤔
@@solange1093 Yeah, there are some things that could be more fleshed out for sure, but there's also just so many characters and moving parts, not everyone can get some spotlight at all times. Making it 10 years wouldn't really have made it better I think. It's a war and only takes place over a few days, 10 years of chapters would have just made the pacing suffer. But it could have used like 1 more year for sure.
I've been a huge bleach fan since 2008 and when the manga ended it sure sucked because a part of my life was ending but I think what was more devastating was seeing fans trashing it so hard. Me and some other fans remained very vocal on our love for it and had to deal with the anime community throwing us shit, it really felt like there were just a bunch of remaining faithful fans out there but hey, we never gave up! I'm thankful to all of them :') and I sure would repeat all that shitty process because look where we are standing now. Ps: out of curiosity, I would love to know what are the issues you find in bleach :D
Subscribed I also found it wierd why big youtubers like Super eyepatch wolf and Trash taste really downplay Bleach without having enough knowledge of the series
Because they never did watch or read the series but knew how controversial the series are that would make great viewership and baiting. Thats how you manipulate the masses, by emotions especially negative ones
How did super eyepatch Wolf downplay Bleach?he Said that the series Started losing it's top 5 best selling shonen jump manga after the soul society arc. Bleach Also Started repeating the same plot formula (love the fullbringer arc but everything went back to the same). The manga last arc just wasn't good (good beginning, weird Middle and bad final events)so i can't understand how that is blind hate. The anime adaptation is fixing some of those issues but it's still not there.
@@isidorodaviddoro1920 He spread misinformation that was my biggest issue he said the anime was canceled due to bad ratings of the fullbring arc which is not true it went on hiatus as explained in this video he also didn't count why manga sales reduced for every anime when it went digitally and there's many more points why that video was misleading if you watch DBZImrans response video
Bleach is one of my favorite stories you have to keep rereading and catching the foreshadowing that was built up through what would be meaningless dialog on your first read and you realize on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time is actually massive like Zaraki's Bankai is foreshadowed throughout soul society but it's not obvious unless you already know what his bankai is
I remember reading Bleach back in the day and enjoying it the most out of the big 3, which was why it was a mystery to me the reason why people were always mocking it. Good to see it making its grand return.
It's having a rejuvenating revival from millions of fans and the creator himself getting an anime with proper love and respect for the final arc, which has far surpassed the manga to me and continuing to get great news like a new game and stuff that's what happened 😅
As one of the people who would probably attack you for liking Bleach on twitter after years of the fandom being under siege and the constant disrespect.....not a bad video. Pretty accurate criticisms and the context was accurately given.
I Underestimate this Series First because People called it so Bad especially the Anime. But then i read it, and i Love it for All the Good Reason it is. the Art, the Style, the Action, and the Messages i found. Tite Kubo had me Wanting to be Like them.
Also, another factor of bleach's resurrection could be attributed to new viewers from when anime blew up around the quarantine (2019-2022) who had access to the entirety of the story without any prejudice. I discovered bleach around this time as well and It is my favorite story of all time, to think i randomly picked out the first volume of the manga in the library because it seemed interesting. Bleach is love!
Anyone ever notice Ichigo embodies the "you are what you eat" saying? He always becomes the very thing or close to it that he's fighting. In season 2 he's fighting Soul Reapers and he's a substitute Soul Reaper. Then he fights Hollows that gained strength by becoming more like Soul Reapers, while Ichigo does something similar and learns to use Hollow powers. Next he fights Aizen who transcends Soul Reapers and Hollows and fuses with his sword, Ichigo says "I can do that too". Then he's up against Fullbringers, so he asks Fullbringers to teach him how to use the same powers too. Now we're fighting Quincies, let's just say his mother was one so that he has Quincy blood and powers too.
Now, on a serious note, as an anime-only fan - man, that explains so much about the general feelings people on the net tend to have towards Bleach. I didn’t enjoy fillers much (exception: Zanpakuto Rebellion), but the entirety of main plot was straight up FIRE, characters were extremely memorable, and the ending of - at the time - the last season felt right both as an actual end to the story and as a way to continue forward. I knew, of course, that there’s manga going further, but I was happy with what I got, no loose ends to tie. On top of that I kept seeing Bleach in so many recent titles like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen - and I just couldn’t figure out why people would trash the anime that inspired it all and was such a good thing by itself. Now, though, it makes sense.
I got into Bleach about few years ago. If i had known it was this good, i would have tried it long before. Bleach is not perfect but Amazing. Its my top 2, along with Naruto 👍
The only true problem Bleach ever had was the early popularity forcing the anime into production before enough source material was available, this obviously made the anime quality drop with the fillers as well as put pressure on how fast Kubo had to put out manga chapters leading to his injury and then him 'rushing' through the TYBW manga so he could take a damn break.... otherwise corporate greed caused a few minor problems and a few random but loud people used those as excuses as to why it was 'canceled' and thus 'bad' and spread it around like herpes to a bunch of people that never bothered to watch/ read before parroting the same opinion until just recently, when they suddenly always loved bleach.... despite not knowing basic facts about the series lol
I started reading bleach like a month ago and I’m currently on the arrancar arc, and it’s already one of my favorite series. I’ve never read a series and been as excited to turn the page as I am with bleach.
The comeback of Bleach after 10 years is one of the best things that happened to bleach fans. An OG anime + modern animation = PERFECTION!!! Hope Kubo will continue the anime after TYBW. Looking forward for the Hell Arc.
I'm not gonna lie As much as it pains me to admit But 2 years ago I didn't view bleach in good light Tbh I thought it was meh only having some good fights not really something memorable Safe to say it was the worst in the big 3 for me But after I saw Tybw and read the full manga + novels I went complete 180 It literally became my favourite shonen series Top 5 favourite anime of all time for me And to think if I said this to my old self two years ago I'd have problems believing it😂 The impulsive reactions The haters all made bleach disrespected and ppl just jumped on the bandwagon tho I didn't hate on it I obviously didn't think it was anything impressive That's why tybw was the best thing to happen It really made fans speak up about their series and made ppl to view it in a good light I never ever thought I'd be as obsessed I am with bleach today But I am obsessed with it😂 I'm really happy I changed and the bleach franchise is doing well again I love it so much Anyways this experience did teach me not to let peer pressure influence your decision Bleach is peak😁
The TYBW anime has massive hype because, even though people's reactions were largely lukewarm to negative on the manga, it was announced that new canon was going to be added to it in the anime. It makes the new arc pretty much mandatory viewing for everyone who's ever been a Bleach fan
I think Bleach's story can be more appreciated when you check out the novels and the side stories like the marriage of Rukia which show how the characters still have their normal lifestyles then theres also the novels which build the world heavily and fill up for alot of missing elements
Vagabond and Bleach are my favorite mangas that have inspired me to be a artist. To see Bleach finally called "masterpiece" by somebody, honestly makes my day. It has its flaws but the good definitely outweighs the bad imo. I think Ichigo is one of the greatest characters created in all of pop culture- yea I'll openly dick ride bleach- Tite Kubo is one of the greatest. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk
One of Bleach's biggest strengths and weaknesses is how much of the story is told through external means. Characters are given pieces of characterization through songs that Kubo only references briefly, core themes are expanded on through supplemental poems, 'extra' scenes are just barely touched upon in seemingly throwaway pages, and the series is very heavily laden with symbolism connecting to real world ideologies. For example, the Quincies are heavily inspired by Christianity while Shinigami (and most other aspects) use Buddhist ideas. The dynamic between the two has a lot of mirrors toward the real interactions Christianity held in Japan, with the religion being seen as an outside and invasive to the culture. There is a lot of this reflection in Bleach, with the Quincies being viewed as outsiders and the outright prejudice against them, leading up to an outright extermination. Yet, a lot of the connections are just barely touched upon in the actual text and almost never explicitly stated. It leaves it up to us ar readers to do the research and figure out the deeper thematic reason ourselves. This is fine when you look at Bleach now. It's had years to sit in our minds and we've had multiple people doing in-depth analyses of these aspects most of us would never figure out ourselves. But, back when it was airing? When it was a weekly series in which we had to wait a long time, sometimes hundreds of chapters, to be given context to very important things... yeah, it's no wonder the series suffered. It doesn't help that TYBW, the arc that should have wrapped everything up, had to be rushed and many of the questions either weren't answered or would answered without proper buildup.
Bleach was always good, but it became popular to hate on Bleach. Most people only watched the Anime filled with terrible filler. Most socials became filled with the exact same surface level hot take of Bleach fell off after Soul Society Arc and Ichigo is a terrible protag. Bleach manga fans had to endure a very hostile environment for literal years fighting an uphill battle against people who didn't want to like Bleach and all kept echoing the exact same flawed hot takes. Now Bleach fans feel vindicated, but also annoyed that the exact same haters are now jumping on the Bleach is great bandwagon. I read Bleach from the start and always defended it. I can understand the bitterness and betrayal other die hards feel. I'm just glad Bleach is back and people are seeing it for the great show that it has always been.
Bleach is what happens when a fashion designer / Tarantino fan creates a manga. For that reason, Bleach is my favorite manga of all time. Bleach is a very stylish. A trait that shows through especially when no battles are occuring. I forgot until the TYBW anime just how much Kubo's work really excels in shot composition, color, and gorgeous fashion. Studio Pierrot by nature of their anime schedule really stretched out fights which harmed pacing and really diluted Kubo's style. In all honesty the TYBW anime is a return to Kubo's stylistic composition best seen in the the OG anime's first OP.
I rarely comment on any yt vids but great video, you did a great job in summarizing and explaining the topic at hand. Bleach is my favorite anime and I know it's not the best anime but I love the story, the characters, the foreshadowing, the art and the music. I just hated how the anime community treated Bleach after the anime hiatus. Also, I went and subscribe to you channel. Will watch your other vids and will wait for what's to come.
Kubo is a master class on setting up plot points and anime only watchers never got to see the payoffs of some of the more major ones until only recently.
I think anime fillers hindered BLEACH unfortunately but its still a great manga. Always been a fan always will be. Its true TYWB had its issues but theres alot of effort and passion being put into the anime to fix it. If we ever do get a remake and the same passion is put into it, can you imagine how much better the flow from Soul Society to Arrancar to Lost Agent would be? Amazing. The og would still be nostalgic for its early 2000s vibes.
I remember the days were you got dogpilled online if you were a Bleach fan, growing up is recognizing how good and influential it was. I'm really glad Kubo is doing better and Bleach is getting more love than ever before (rightfully so)
Bleach was always pretty much never going to have the mass appeal to shonen fans. Kubo is a very artistic minded writer utilizing every single aspect of the medium as much as possible. Paneling, cover art, dialogue bubbles, character design etc. His instincts aren't very "populist" as a lot of his counterparts. HIs story is wrought with a lot of introspective characters, symbolism, thematic work and subtext. It doesn't rely a lot on flash, and seeking of greatness the way more popular shounen do. The cliche'd take is that it just only was good at Soul Society and fell off, but people like TotallyNotMark were some of the only ones with any guts to not toe the appeals to majority and say that Fullbring was actually great. People's major problems with Bleach rely a lot on the fact Kubo lowered the scope of the plot after Aizen's defeat, and then wrought this into an arc that seems isolated but has strong implication for the entire narrative. Tie that to an iffy villain resolution, and fans will overwrite the whole thing. Fans pretty much always say a shonen fell off when it starts to handle more adult, complex work. Almost every time, and then don't think anything about it. It's the worst part of the fandom, there's zero actual critical discourse and insight aside from guys like yourself. I need to read it from chapter 1 and see how I feel.
Thank you for the video, and I would like to add a point, which is that many people did not understand the story well or in the balance of power, and this is due to the lack of clarification by the writer on the one hand, and on the other hand, people did not give it enough focus, and this is one of the reasons that made them underestimate it.
@@ShonenOuji Some of the things I saw from some people are: the subject of Ichigo's strength in general, and also how could Commander Zaraki lose to a new guy, how did he reach such strength so quickly, "the power of friendship" when Orihime called Ichigo in his fight with Ulquiorra, Ichigo's fight with Grimmjow and how he was enjoying the fight with his instinct but when he realized that Orihime didn't want him to get hurt he ended the fight quickly and I see people thinking that Ichigo's strength increased from Orihime's words and some of the things that were in the end (spoiler) how did Yuhabache not notice Oryu's arrow even though we have the information that Yuhabache said from the beginning that Oryu has higher strength than him, these are some of the points that were on my mind now and I don't know if they are only present in the anime community in my region (the Middle East) or everywhere! Sorry for the length
You are wrong about the hate though. A lot of TikTok creators are still spreading hate and misinformation about the series to fit their agendas especially after Boruto came up with its own Yeach and Stirnritters .
Bleach ending 29 so nostalgic 7 years ago ichigo losing power not being see rukia his friend hit me bro bleach is just amazing since I was a kid watching the first op just such a good series
Well, the truth is that a lot of people including me felt that after Aizen got defeated the series went downhill. And I still stand by that - noting has changed in that regard. The ending was weak and felt rushed and it is true that the series was rushed towards the end. The new anime has been very good though. Animation is much better than it used to be, there are no fillers and there’s some extra content that makes the story make more sense. I still have issues with the source material but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s just a very good anime. Overall, Bleach will always be one of my favourite series but really the only arcs that were REALLY good and I remember Bleach for are the Soul Society and Arrancar arcs. The latter was extremely long and it kind of defined the series for a lot of people. Aizen was also a really cool character which helped a lot in my view. Yhwach just came out of nowhere and I never felt particularly excited about him. I also think that with time Kubo went a bit overboard with really abstract and OP powers. This wasn’t really a problem until the last arc.
I really loved bleach as an anime, but never really got into manga (just my thing, don’t enjoy manga/comics in general and stick to books). So, this is the first time I’m hearing this. *BLEACH HAD A FULL COLOURED ISSUE?!*
I want to point out that the TYBW anime is very different from the manga. It's different enough that the anime is basically the new canon for the arc. The issues with the manga version being rushed was due to Kubo's health issues at the time, and since then he's been adding everything that he had initially planned to add to the arc. He first did this in the novel CFYOW, and then now in the anime. Cour 2 got tons of new scenes, plot points, and abilities. Cour 3 is confirmed to have even more new stuff. And cour 4 is practically be mostly original content.
I am 14, started bleach 3 years ago (I watched and read it over 20 times) and now I’m watching the tybw cour 3, I love it. It was never bad to me. (Except bount arc and fillers, those do NOT hold a special place in my heart)
a dumb youtuber made clickbait video about bleach's supposed "downfall" and it caught fire. It goes to show how you could never take people seriously on the internet, as its a hivemind, and people rarely think for themselves.
Started out in middle school back in the day. Never stopped. Won't stop. Fullbring was a lul but the end fight with Ginjo was fire. And it brought brevity to Ichigo and Ginjo. Made Ginjo relatable after Ichigo reflects on his life and decisions. For he too could have gone down the same path, if not for his friends.
I mostly do think it's thanks to DBZimran's video responding to Wolf and all givin bleach misconceptions. As well as making proper analysis on the series. Chaomix's 2010s Sonic hate kinda reminisces that.
When I first met my girlfriend she hated anime as a whole but now after the decade ive spent with her bleach is her fav series and ive shown her well over a hundred series just goes to show everyone has a taste and don’t let people tell you otherwise
Ichigo will always be my favorite Big 3 protagonist no matter what happens in the future, and that's for a simple reason...the sense of togetherness. When an author creates a hero for his manga, it is often the same motif, stupid, reckless, who forms friendships with everyone he meets and has a big dream.Meanwhile Ichigo... was just an ordinary guy you might have met in the hallway at school. He's not stupid but he's not smart either, he's interested in girls but he's not crazy about them, he has no problem fighting but he's not a fighting maniac either, and most importantly he's not a guy who wants to save the world but when his loved ones are in danger he's ready to sacrifice for them. This is a character where you can imagine yourself as a manga hero if such a situation happened to you, and yet he cannot be called flat like some isekai hero because he still has cool character elements such as saying what he thinks and not caring about social status. But what I always love the most about him is that after each big action, the guy just goes back to his everyday life. He doesn't want to become a captain, squad zero, soul king or any other powerful shit, he became a soul reaper because his loved ones were in danger. No matter what happens, the guy always comes back to his place to go to school the next day, then to work, and then he starts a family, has children, and a job that the series never talked about out loud because it wasn't that important. And this is a dream that I can identify with much easier than being Hokage or Pirate King
One note i'd like to add is that a lot of modern manga/anime heavy hitters took direct inspiration from bleach causing a lot of younger/newer anime watchers to become enamored with the series for the first time
ever since i was a child about 7-8 i LOVED bleach and later as time went on i was forced ot hide how much i loved bleach and anime since it was UNCOOL but now i cant even tell you how damn happy i am to see my childhood favourite anime to come back 😅
@@Justanormalperson777Is it even a comparison jkk went downhill at the end of the manga it seemed had no idea what instead embrace the memes and kill everyone and there is many plot holes unfortunately it is good but not great
I think most of the praise and love bleach got since the blood war animation announcement was due to hype, nostalgia and the hope of a better final arc. I dont think it had much to do with fans forgeting why they didn't like bleach. All the problems of the old anime are still present in the blood war it just looks different
not only all that, we got anime exclusive scenes and fight ,which Tite Kubo was unable to put in manga because of the schedules , with whole tybw supervised by Tite Kubo himself unlike before.
I dont understand why bleach fans are mad that people are loving the series NOW. I've been a Bleach fan since 2008, nearing the end of the Manga I understood why ppl were shitting on it but I also understood the struggles Kubo had with the editor/publishers that he had to rush the ending of the series. Now that Bleach is finally getting the adaptation it deserves I got so many of my friends who stopped reading Bleach or even never watched it before to watch it now and they're loving it.
The following is just a story interconnected with Bleach on many levels. I am a long standing “torch carrier”. Got trashtalked about liking Bleach, yada yada, you know the drill. I used to always be a guy to dive in deep, search for meaning and a philosophy enjoyer. Back in 2009 I got my first hold of bleach dvd, when I was living in a one room apartment with 13 other people in suburbs. It was a first peek at entertainment for kids at the time, the only thing I could understand when my classmates were discussing. I didn’t love the series initially, I thought it was cool, nothing more. Until I got to SS arc, the same time period when I discovered Carl Jung. I immediately got the correlation, the shadow self being a zanpakuto, self discovery, self belief. The more I dived in, the more I realized it is a story about Ichigo - about us. Not flashy fights, not cool techniques, but US. Me. It literally helped me solve my ongoing issues, climb out of the darkest place and live. Up to date, Bleach holds a special place in my heart. Enjoying Bleach let me enjoy life too - which was not so good at the time, as I was working 2 shifts as a kid just to have a food on my plate. And it will continue to be so.
I think another aspect on why people are more positive to the series is that the anime has been adding new content to try and fix the story. So far there hasn't been too much added and even a few things taken out but the next cour I believe will answer a lot of questions that fans have had and Kubo is directly involved in that process. I believe he was sick at the time of creating tybw so it was rushed but now he can fix certain issues.
I was reading BLEACH since 2009 and I was also fuming about the last two arcs, and we indeed had reasons for that. The TWBW arc is nothing more but mindless fights after the other. You know the comic trope of "villain explaning his plan because the author wants to show the reader how genious it is the plan he came up with?", BLEACH suffers the same, but for characters habilities. You have a villain group with more than 20 members (TOO much) and each one have a power with absolutely no limitations (remember, lack of limitations is bad for the creativity). Each villain can have absolutelly ANYTHING as his powers, there is no rules about their powers, no REAL rules, so it already makes their powers boring as hell to think about it, a todler could have came up with the majority of those habilities. Not only that, but the entire arc is nothing more but a succession of fights, in a line, fights that ONLY wants to explain each one's boring powers and then go to the next one, really nothing interesting happens in the arc, it is just it, a line of fights to explain boring powers. The power system of the shinigamis and of the hollows/espadas is fucking AMAZING. And the Quincies under Juha Bach is what a toddler would come up with, the exact opposite in terms of power system quality... and we have more than 20 of those characters at captain level!! You knwo how they say character design in Bleach is marvelous? It is because it is!!! The shinigamis have a "uniform" with bits of individuality for each character (LIMITATION, limitation ALWAYS helps creativity), as well as the arrancars.... But the quyncies?? You have Thor wannabe, random wrestling guy with boring power with no limits, sniper guy, the stock "anything I think of turns into reality" obligatory guy... looks like a collection of digimon, the "anything goes with no rules". The TWBW arc ONLY pillars is the lore it provides to the lore of the world of BLEACH, but I'm sorry, something like this is NEVER enough to make any story interesting. Aside from that, the main bad guy came out of fucking NOWHERE and presented himself as the biggest threat of the universe! I'm sorry but we have been with Aizen our whole lives and now we have to swallow that there is this another guy, completely unrelated to ANYTHING that happened until now (not lore wise, unrealted to anything that happened during the entire manga DIRECTLY) and accept that this is the "final boss"? I thought we abandoned that since Dragon Ball Z, this looks like a big retcon. BLEACH started to fall, in my opinion, in the fake karakura town arc, when Kubo decided to just completely throw away the Espadas (the characters) to go to the final fight against Aizen. There was NO CONSEQUENCE, the Espadas left ZERO consequence, no major main character died by the hands of the Espadas, no landscape or major world event happened because of them, they were REALLY WELL PRESENTED as this unstopabble force and Kubo threw them away giving zero consequence to all of their actions until there. I felt betrayed by buying that those guys were something until that point in the story. There was also no TWIST about them being actually useless if that is supposed to be the argument for this entire time, there was no clever "I got you", they were indeed worked to be those really dangerous group and they were dealt with as an inconvenience and everything just moved after they died leaving zero consequences to anything. The ending was terrible but more terrible is Uryu's role in the manga. He did nothing the entire arc, made a plan to turn on the Quyncies but we didn't know why he wanted to turn on them or his plan, his plan wasn't worked on for the entire arc and at the end he received a mcgufin out of fucking nowhere that had the power to "nulify the power of God"... I mean, WTF??
Bleach in some way despite me comparing it with Naruto somehow has more Realism (Togashi wise since there are similarities with their stories in some manner however more darker than what meets the black) in its own enterity of its own perspecting atmosphere regarding the character going through a lot of BS to some extent it has woken me up through a somewhat kind of astral spectacle ever since the moment I watched it back in 2008 and through my journey over the years with this beautiful masterpiece it has led me to cope plus deal with so many messed up things on a daily basis of having enough resilience through getting by certain encycling PSTD and calamitous routes in my life regardless of the setbacks it gives though that is not say it wrecked me up completely cause i'm thankful of it leading me through a better light hearted yet hopeful journey on going with the flow of this cursed fated existence period.
Bleach has always been the underappreciated GOAT of the big three, and is still one of the best anime and manga to come out to this date. It's influence on Manga cannot be understated and has a legacy that will likely outshine the others with how Boruto has gone. Though One Piece might become quite a lot more accessible with the WIT Remake, we can only wait and see on that one, but with Bleach if you skip all the filler it's the MOST accessible of the Big Three thanks to it's Modern Day setting and relatable cast. If they remake all of Bleach in the TYBW Style it will go really hard too.
Bruh, Ichigo doing a Getsuga Jujishou on Ywatch, that never existed in the manga, is the reason Bleach is back and big and no fillers, man thats a relief
I remember that when I started to watch youtube videos about anime, there were many videos that by today's standard would be on par with Tokyo Revengers in terms of quality and that it had really bad sales, characters, arcs (except soul society), story, and basically everything except the art
I love Bleach, but I still hate the ending. And, through my activating of the Almighty, no, I see you future commenters, it was not about the ships. They were perfectly fine ships, if not a little underdeveloped. That’s fine, it’s nothing new in a Shonen battle manga, where romance is nowhere near the focus. No, my problem stems from multiple factors. Like characters straight up not getting any resolutions, leaving them in limbo on whether they were dead or not. And even the characters where there WERE resolutions didn’t make any sense. Why does Chad have a boxing career when that’s very much against his established character? Why is Uryu a doctor, the same profession as his dad, whom he hates, not even mentioning his established skills at sewing/craftwork. I could go further, but I won’t. And I don’t necessarily blame Kubo. Jump deadlines are notoriously terrible and his health was also in decline. Bleach just seems like Ground Zero for how mangaka are terribly treated in the industry.
How would you rate Bleach? How has it changed over time?

Bleach has always been great. However, the Anime is literally the worst way to consume the show and in the early 2ks that was how most people consumed Bleach. I'm just happy Bleach is back.
@@sr.g7543Take your awful rating along with you
Bleach was one of my first anime which has over 300 episodes (besides Naruto and DBZ kai)
And loved it from start to finnish especially the MC (Ichigo) I don't why exactly I like him as a character but I do and I'm regretting and the side character to, as a series overall it's a solid 8/10 or maybe a 9/10 but because I love this series that much I give it a 10/10, to describe it in one word well... it's just AMAZING

Lots of love man
Maybe I was too harsh on bleach
People don't understand the slander Bleach fans dealt with. Even now half of every comment section about bleach shits on it in some way, and that's the best ratio we've had in a decade. It used to feel like 1000 of us against the world. With like 3 content creators max defending the series. And one of those just stopped talking about it at all soon after the manga ended.
Yeah, it's annoying to see people slandering a series only to glaze it the moment that's the popular consensus. No fun arguing with people with second hand opinions.
Oh yeah he definitely pulled a 101....
Possibly because of how much simpler and easy to understand Naruto is
I mean, I’m a staunch bleach hater and I’ve never seen anyone agree with me in recent times
Thank you for calling out eyepatch wolf, the same eyepatch wolf who very much dismissed yozakura family, basically calling the concept a copy pasted of Spy x Family, when the only similarties are a family of spies. And now won't even admit how wrong he was about yozakura family.
Eyepatch is a typical, overly pretentious, pseudo-intellectual video essayist.
Bleach aged like fine wine
No replays for the best comments, Let me fix that.
Didnt the toriyama sending letter to kubo was because kubo dont have motivation to draw a story? Not because of getting rejected?
@@reurez7942 toriyama never wrote him a letter regardless
@@343JustMe That's true but also small one off statements get misinterpreted and blown out of proportion. Like Kubo made a joke about One Piece doing better and it led to rumors of Kubo hating Oda.

@@Castiel_01xwhys that bland
@@tengoodquestions because people are reluctant to praise anything else because of the hate it got. it's always about the drip, art or designs when in fact you can talk about things like themes, foreshadowing and so on.
@@Castiel_01x completely agree, like let's talk about ichigo being a quincy
in the very first chapter rukia wanted to lend over half of her power to ichigo but he sucked it all up, which race absorbs spiritual energy? quincies
then we have ichigo absorbing and releasing the energy of a cero in the same arc and his bedsheets having the quincy cross
soul society arc has zangetsu explaining how to fly but he explains it in the quincy way (solidifying reishi into platforms instead of making them out of his reiatsu), the same zangetsu stopped ichigo's bleeding against kenpachi (blut vene)
in karakura town arc aizen says "you're the offspring of a shinigami and a.." but is interrupted
there are like 2 more foreshadows yet people say it was an asspull in the last arc it's so frustrating
Exactly 💯
In fact, in the era of the Big 3, which is from 2000 to 2011, Bleach was more popular than One Piece both in Japan and in the West and you can verify that with metrics and statistics from those years. It was in 2012 when Bleach fell due to different circumstances and One Piece took over and the popularity that Bleach has today is not even close to what it was at the time before 2012, so you can understand the popularity that Bleach had is Its era was equivalent to what Jujutsu Kaisen has today.
@@gagogagos2265 jjk doesn't even come close to the 2012 bleach popularity what are you talking about?
So while Bleach was over OP, Naruto dwarfed both by a significant margin
So you don't have to bring the other 2 if the big 3 to prop Bleach up, Bleach is amazing in its own right, it did amazing numbers by itself, so don't bring false narratives into the mix to make Bleach feel better
I think you might be exaggerating One Piece's popularity (outside of Japan) back then.
Not to mention, most of the issues people had with Bleach were introduced in the anime. The Studio made some questionable decisions. I too had found myself irritated by this show until the long hiatus made me read the manga.
And the difference slapped me silly. The manga is one of the best shonen works to date.

the New Bleach Anime is less Censored compared to the Old Bleach Anime and has better Pacing and better Animation than the Old Bleach Anime.
I originally only read the manga because of animes pacing but I've watched every episode of TYBW so far.
You can’t deny Bleach has the biggest comeback in the history of animanga
I think one of the things that people fail to understand about bleach is alot of the hidden undertones and sutble aspects about bleach, such as Shunsui's bankai, alot of people just saw it as plays being brought to life but if you look at it comparing it to his backstory you'll realise that it is actually bringing tragadies in his life into the form of attacks.
First attack "Hesertating sharing of the wound"= Him and his brother sharing the same pain about losing nanao's mother
Second attack "bed of shame"= representing his brother falling ill.
Third attack "dango's abyass"= representing his drowning sorro of all the tragady in his life.
Elegantly said.
Bleach is like Russell Westbrook on the lakers bleach is the scapegoat
@@hxlobeatsIronically, Kubo is like the Steph Curry of Shonen Jump, he's pretty much the reference of a lot of new gen shonen mangakas from akutami, horikoshi, Tabata and many more, from technical standpoint of character design, world design, and even writing styles, just like curry with his threes, he made the shonen jump formula extremely efficient but just as compelling as it's contemporaries and that's something I think he has the biggest impact he had given compare to the two of the big three, he changed the game of shonen jump(I'm saying this while not even being a big fan of kubo), I mean there's also a reason Narita Ryohgo(Baccano and Durarara) is one of his biggest fans, that must mean he's doing something right
In my experience, while that's true, it was more specifically all of the power scaling freaks that did a ton of damage to Bleach
Im pretty interested to see how cour 3 and 4 of tybw is gonna be adapted since this section of the manga was extremely rushed, so we're about to see a whole lot of anime original stuff here, im pretty hyped
Yes! I’m excited to see what kinds of original content we’ll get.
It wasn’t that rushed overall. There’s some things that could use some more general explanation (something they are already doing in cour 1 and 2), but the actual extremely rushed part is just the last 5 chapters. That’s where things go off the rails, but we won’t get to that before cour 4.
Gonna be wild

Bleach is one of my favorite stories you have to keep rereading and catching the foreshadowing that was built up through what would be meaningless dialog on your first read and you realize on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time is actually massive like Zaraki's Bankai is foreshadowed throughout soul society but it's not obvious unless you already know what his bankai is
It’s right around the corner. Even the production staff can’t wait
Is that all? 😂
@@ShonenOuji Well actually.......
As one of the people who would probably attack you for liking Bleach on twitter after years of the fandom being under siege and the constant disrespect.....not a bad video. Pretty accurate criticisms and the context was accurately given.
Thank you!
I Underestimate this Series First because People called it so Bad especially the Anime. But then i read it, and i Love it for All the Good Reason it is. the Art, the Style, the Action, and the Messages i found. Tite Kubo had me Wanting to be Like them.
I never disliked bleach. I just kept reading and ignored everyone. That being said the internet ruined anime and manga
We are in 2024
Saying "bleach falls off after soul society" is an old title
I mean I still think it kinda does.
Thanks so much Townzie 🙏 I mean, dang, those technical difficulties
God dang those technical difficulties…
I'll do better next time. Gee whiz!
Immaculate video good sir, Bleach was hard to get into but it was worth it
I'm not gonna lie
As much as it pains me to admit
But 2 years ago I didn't view bleach in good light
Tbh I thought it was meh only having some good fights not really something memorable
Safe to say it was the worst in the big 3 for me
But after I saw Tybw and read the full manga + novels
I went complete 180
It literally became my favourite shonen series
Top 5 favourite anime of all time for me
And to think if I said this to my old self two years ago I'd have problems believing it😂
The impulsive reactions
The haters all made bleach disrespected and ppl just jumped on the bandwagon tho I didn't hate on it I obviously didn't think it was anything impressive
That's why tybw was the best thing to happen
It really made fans speak up about their series and made ppl to view it in a good light
I never ever thought I'd be as obsessed I am with bleach today
But I am obsessed with it😂
I'm really happy I changed and the bleach franchise is doing well again
I love it so much
Anyways this experience did teach me not to let peer pressure influence your decision
Bleach is peak😁
So glad this video, cuz more people need to know about this insane comeback story
Fullbringer arc gets better with age. Looking back on it and seeing all the friends you lost from your past.
Bleach is one of few anime/manga who was ahead of its time 🗣️
The TYBW anime has massive hype because, even though people's reactions were largely lukewarm to negative on the manga, it was announced that new canon was going to be added to it in the anime.
Thanks Townzie
for the people!
I'm just glad Bleach is back and people are seeing it for the great show that it has always been.
i was a jjk fan before but after i watched bleach and i started loving it
Bleach is what happens when a fashion designer / Tarantino fan creates a manga.
Bleach has a specific aura to it that I cant explain, that makes it a masterpiece
Thank you so much! I have another Bleach video scheduled in the next couple of weeks, so make sure to check that one out too!
literally right after i finished Bleach and became a fan the tybw arc was announced
Everything from the character design to the soundtrack and everything else is just.....PERFECT👌
Kubo is a master class on setting up plot points and anime only watchers never got to see the payoffs of some of the more major ones until only recently.
sliding rukia peach invthere is insane
My favorite anime, got me through sm and I was so happy when I saw the trailer for tybw
The tekken comparison is really on par
I need to read it from chapter 1 and see how I feel.
only just started watching bleach last month and i’m all caught up already, that’s how good it is
Great video man ❤
Very excited for the bleach game
Thank you for the video, and I would like to add a point, which is that many people did not understand the story well or in the balance of power, and this is due to the lack of clarification by the writer on the one hand, and on the other hand, people did not give it enough focus, and this is one of the reasons that made them underestimate it.
Thanks!
Just to be clear, what is it that you think people misunderstood?
W editor let us have a second to see the preciouse beach episode
I want to point out that the TYBW anime is very different from the manga. It's different enough that the anime is basically the new canon for the arc. The issues with the manga version being rushed was due to Kubo's health issues at the time, and since then he's been adding everything that he had initially planned to add to the arc. He first did this in the novel CFYOW, and then now in the anime. Cour 2 got tons of new scenes, plot points, and abilities. Cour 3 is confirmed to have even more new stuff. And cour 4 is practically be mostly original content.
Senjumaru’s Bankai was actually insane. Squad Zero has one hell of a showing in the anime
Chaomix's 2010s Sonic hate kinda reminisces that.
you forget that kubo and studio Pierrot actually adding more lore and scene, and actually cut any unnecessary scene
Always was a fan always will be , best story best characters best vibe and tone, and most importantly best writing
One note i'd like to add is that a lot of modern manga/anime heavy hitters took direct inspiration from bleach causing a lot of younger/newer anime watchers to become enamored with the series for the first time
nothing but pure unadulterated aura 12:43
ever since i was a child about 7-8 i LOVED bleach and later as time went on i was forced ot hide how much i loved bleach and anime since it was UNCOOL but now i cant even tell you how damn happy i am to see my childhood favourite anime to come back 😅

I think most of the praise and love bleach got since the blood war animation announcement was due to hype, nostalgia and the hope of a better final arc. I dont think it had much to do with fans forgeting why they didn't like bleach. All the problems of the old anime are still present in the blood war it just looks different
False
not only all that, we got anime exclusive scenes and fight ,which Tite Kubo was unable to put in manga because of the schedules , with whole tybw supervised by Tite Kubo himself unlike before.

Bruh, Ichigo doing a Getsuga Jujishou on Ywatch, that never existed in the manga, is the reason Bleach is back and big and no fillers, man thats a relief
is there any news regarding hell arc?
