      You realize you can adjust the brightness settings via windows with or without hdr on right? Just open up nvidia control panel and tune it to your liking. The panel itself is capable of being blindingly bright, you just need to make the necessary adjustments mate.

    There are several things here that you may have missed in prepping for this review: 1) Install the latest LG display drivers for this monitor from the LG support page (version 7.79 dated 1/25/2023), 2) enable HDR (W10 & W11), 3) enable Auto HDR in the Win11 settings, 4) run the HDR calibration in W11 -> there should be no reason for this monitor to be dim as it has an HDR1000 rating…and 5) be more specific regarding which port you used in testing as there are fundamental differences between DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1. Let me know if you have any questions!

    Decent review. Thanks for the info! Mine should be in soon. About burn in… this was tested on a TV a few years back. It was left on a white screen all day long for 2 years before getting actual burn in. Technology has come a very long way. The chances of getting burn in within the first 5 years is close to none. They all do a pixel refresh every time you turn it off. There’s a reason OLED is the winner of TV’s and has been for about 4-5 years

    I have the monitor. Do I think it’s worth $1000? No way. Especially when they’re selling their C2 at $899 right now ($500 off at the time of posting). But, the price tag is the price you have to pay if you want the performance of OLED at the refresh rate of 240 instead of 120.
    I will say tho, after fixing the resolution issue (also, thanks to Reddit), turning off the energy saving, and using Auto HDR and HDR settings within games, it is the best quality picture from a monitor that I’ve ever seen. Fortnite is compatible with Auto HDR and looks insanely vivid on this monitor, and Warzone 2 with their own HDR setting turns on looks GREAT with all of my settings on low for maximum FPS. It’s plenty bright enough for me and the room I’m in, and my only concern with this monitor now is burn in. I have a CX with about 7500 hours of watch time, and there’s no burn in on that panel, so I’m hoping we get great life from this.
    But, great review. I appreciate the honesty, and I appreciate you being one of the only people to drop a review without LG sending the thing out to you personally.

      @@BrianMads I'd like a 32" 120hz oled which I'd use mainly for winter evening entertainment. Not really a great choice of smaller sizes and lower resolutions atm, but yeah it be nice but to spend a lot of money I'm going yo want to preserve as many years as possible. I suppose if you keep brightness down that's half the battle won. I think the pixel cleaning might be about evening out wear to keep everything even looking, I think the pixels will still be getting worn a lot faster out when driven at high brightness though. Presumably at a lower brightness is hopefully much further under any threshold of being worn down rather than just straight proportional wear but either way it's nice to preserve things through best practice use case.

My eyes are really sensitive to flicker and so would like to know how it is with this one. LG UltraGear OLED 27GR95QE-B 27" 240 Hz for 800 euro or
    Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM at 1100 euro? what is worth it?

      The Asus is definitely brighter. If I could stretch the $300 I would but honestly I love the LG it's my main monitor until now.

    How worried should I be about burn in?
    & approximately how long should this OLED monitor last me for let’s say 8 hours a day?

    • @BrianMads
      @BrianMads  Год назад

      To be honest with you no idea. I know a lot of people with the lg c1 and cx that have 8000 hours on their tv and still no burn in. I think this monitor is good just cause it goes to sleep after 10 mins idle and it cleans its pixels at night

      Just use your monitor. By the time any burn in would happen you will probably want a new monitor. Been using oled for like 2 years all day no problems.

    120hz vs 240hz playing completive games over the internet are not going to mean anything. The bottleneck is always going to be your internet connection.
    Now if this was at a Lan event sure, 240 might have a slight edge over 120 even 160 but not by much. You are talking about the very rare occurrents that both players see each other and draw weapons and shoot at the same exact time in the same location. Then the 240 will win the fight but thats like 1 out of 1000 kills maybe
