This monitor is great. Bought it close to launch and been nothing but impressed an happy with it. It’s well more than bright enough super fast an looks amazing. If u hating on the monitor its just cuz you can’t afford it sorry.
It would make sense to use HDMI 2.1 in case you use NVIDIA GPU and, since the monitor doesnt have G-Sync Ultimate, the only way to have 1440p 240HZ with VRR and HDR 10bit color is HDMI 2.1. With DP 1.4 you can have the same by only using DSC.
There is an oled health button on the remote. The button looks like a little monitor, and it's the bottom most middle button on the remote. It opens a menu which lets you select screen shift, screen saver, as well as manually initiate pixel refresh (1 minute) or image refresh (10 minutes).

So far, I think the text is fine! I usually color correct on my other monitor for accuracy then I finish my edits on the OLED just because it’s smoother and looks better, but when I type up notes and stuff for vids, other than dropping brightness on a completely white screen, the text is fine
I'm casually optimistic regarding the OLED gaming PC Monitors that's coming this year, including this one. Don't get me wrong, I love the deep blacks & not having to worry about any kind of backlight bleed and so on with OLED PC Monitors, but what keeps me on my toes is the durability. PC Desktop use often consists of static elements on the screen over longer periods of time, so I'm hoping that burn-in is an issue of the past when it comes to the new 27 inch OLED panels made by LG Display.
I have the same outlook as well. I’ve seen so many people post their burn in issues on Reddit with the Alienware qdoled I’ve been getting more and more hesitant on picking up an oled monitor as a daily driver (mix of content consumption, gaming and the odd spreadsheet when I’m working on my gaming Pc)
@@AsianAnimeRuLe I don't think you should worry too much about burn-ins a bunch depending on how you use it. What did you use to calibrate it? I have it and yea the brightness is terrible... im not sure how it ended up so dim considering it has the best of LG's OLED tech?
2.1 is necessary to use vrr on ps5 for some reason. Not sure if that's been updated but that's how it was anyways. Even at 1440p. Big, massive, negative of this monitor is the coating. It's awful and if you have any lights around it's like it has ips glow. Even if it's not direct.
How would you say it performs in HDR content? I'd probably be playing Destiny 2 with mostly single player games, but I'm not a fan of ultrawide and curved panels for productivity.
HDR quite honestly doesn’t look horribly different than SDR, but you will notice a slight bit more detail in brighter/darker areas. I also tested the HDR myself on Destiny 2!
Too much tech, I wanted to know out of the oled monitors, do you prefer the lg 27in or the alienware oled? Im currently stuck between the two. Leaning more towards the alienware DWF though.
I'm definitely considering this. But I am kinda worried that oled will ruin my mini led 4k 120hz tv. I already have a 1440p 240hz monitor, but it's TN with pretty bad colors overall. I'm obsessed with competitive games and aim training so it made me really happy to see a reviewer who seemed to also be skillfully inclined in FPS games talk about it.
Haha I appreciate it, I consider myself SLIGHTLY above average but I can hold my own. I think this is the best E Sports panel on the market right right now as far as speed and clarity is concerned
@@TooMuchTech It came down to 1080p vs 1440p. Also I think the oled does indeed just look better overall. On Zowie there wasn't the exact perfect setting for motion. Even strobing still had some ghost here and there. Oled ghost free everywhere. They both feel telepathic as far as latency goes.
Just got mine yesterday . For the sound to come pit of the audio jack . I had to plug the USB b cable from my ps5 to the monitor and it powered the charging ports . You also have to change a setting on the monitor from optical to the other one, I can't remember the name

I would wait, new OLED’s dropping right now at CES for this year. These will be cheaper and the new one are like 360hz and 480hz for close to the same prices
Prob QD-OLED if it’s glossy, brighter and competitive priced. This is the first of its kind so it’s got the early adopter tax, Long term I think this will drop in price to like 7-800 USD
HDR Barely a difference in use, hardly worth mentioning but I will pin a comment. and QD-OLED honestly I think people have that issue when they try to eat the monitor, but if you have it pretty far back, I don't even notice it
Compare it to Odyssey G7 VA and LG C2 and Alienware QD OLED and Panasonic OLED please, Just for gaming, I do not care about "productivity". Can you please?
Less bright than that I’m sure, max brightness it shouldn’t hurt your eyes, it’s actually pretty comfortable without strain so that’s why the brightness I do not think is an issue

Yeah that monitor you have is barely available but, not a singular chance I spend anywhere 500+ on a TN panel these days. Even Zowie dropped the 240hz panel to 450 recently
@@chrisbeasley4727 It is hard to understand the difference between 165Hz and 240Hz.... my old 165hz monitor feels almost as smooth as this monitor. Kirneill was saying to set Black Stabilizet to MAX. Does this elevate dark areas to make it easier to see? Such as a dark corner in a room? Im noticing on some other reviews the blacks are wayyyy too dark but in your vieeo they look quite nice! Thanks for the review
Burn in is not an easy fix unfortunately, have to go with a different panel unfortunately to avoid it but believe it or not , there is LCD burn in too. At least with this monitor, when it shuts off it automatically starts the pixel refresh process
i have the AW3423DW, but for warzone its too big for me, i ordered the lg oled 27, is this monitor sharper? on the Alienware, i dont have any sharpening options
All you have to do is put the AW in 16.9 when playing warzone and its a 27 inch panel. This is what i do when playing cod. I just got 27 inch oled last night to test out and the AW oled is definitely brighter and crisper with that glossy panel. I will probably return the LG.
What would be the absolute best 2K gaming monitor for xbox series X, budget is around 1199 UK pounds. obviously don't need higher than 120hz as xbox cant go above that but most "best" monitors go above that anyway so it's no biggie, regardless, this new Oled would be sweet, but i've also seen a few Asus, LG and MSI monitors that get good reviews.
Great Review! But two questions, 1) Is the matte coating an issue in low (or NO) lighted rooms? I.e. do the blacks look as deep in those conditions as they do on glossy oled? (Obviously I don't expect a matte display to look as good when there's significant light, but I would only use it in dark/very dim rooms). 2)Can you store a calibrated profile on the monitor so you can use it with consoles? Thanks, keep up the good work.
In a dark room, even with ambient lighting, the Matte is not an issue at all. The brightness difference is mostly going to come down to the panel tech difference (ex, the Alienware vs the LG) that’s going to be the most perceivable. Just slapping a Glossy coating on this one isn’t going to make it significantly brighter or more or less nice to use. Will it increase clarity a bit? Yes, but it won’t change overall panel characteristics

I mostly play single player rpg games but I hate blurry images when moving. Do you think this is still viable for my case use?
How would you say it performs in HDR content? I'd probably be playing Destiny 2 with mostly single player games, but I'm not a fan of ultrawide and curved panels for productivity.
HDR quite honestly doesn’t look horribly different than SDR, but you will notice a slight bit more detail in brighter/darker areas. I also tested the HDR myself on Destiny 2!
Too much tech, I wanted to know out of the oled monitors, do you prefer the lg 27in or the alienware oled? Im currently stuck between the two. Leaning more towards the alienware DWF though.
Alienware OLED Lives in my setup where I mostly game, the DWF is a fantastic deal right now too! ruclips.net/video/UVM7S1If_hU/видео.html
U definitely gotta upgrade if u go from tn to oled
I own this and love it. I upgraded from a zowie-xl2546k. 100% worth.
Dang, from a Zowie owner themselves. That’s something! Keep Fraggin, Draggon
@@TooMuchTech
It came down to 1080p vs 1440p.
Also I think the oled does indeed just look better overall. On Zowie there wasn't the exact perfect setting for motion. Even strobing still had some ghost here and there.
Oled ghost free everywhere.
They both feel telepathic as far as latency goes.
There's a typo at 4:29 in the video 0.3ms at official website it is advertised as 0.03ms just to let you know!
@xtoomuchtech Nice try, however the channel is called toomuchtech without "x"!
Is this much better then the AW271d?? Is there a noticeable upgrade ?
Alienware is brighter, other than that, for gaming it’s not even a competition
Just got mine yesterday . For the sound to come pit of the audio jack . I had to plug the USB b cable from my ps5 to the monitor and it powered the charging ports . You also have to change a setting on the monitor from optical to the other one, I can't remember the name
Right right. Even with my USB plugged in it didn’t work🙃 I am aware lol
How do you calibrate the monitor?
What monitor arm is that tho Kyle 🙃
Can You turn off the LED Lights behind the Monitor??
Hi sir i have AW2721D 240hz fast nano ips gsync and 1440p anyway do you think its worth it to buy lg 240hz oled? I know oled have better response time and color and ill use it on multiplayer(sweaty) i dont know if oled also have a better or lower input lag vs aw2721d.
I would say so, but maybe wait for either a price drop, or check out some of the other OLEDs coming out this year like the Asus one coming soon
If am gonna spend 1000$ on a monitor it better be the best in gaming as well as colour work.
I been looking at this and the swift rog 240hz
What you think?
I would wait, new OLED’s dropping right now at CES for this year. These will be cheaper and the new one are like 360hz and 480hz for close to the same prices
@@TooMuchTech okay thanks!
Is there any auto brightness ILED CARE feature u can’t turn off like with the lg oled tv series? That would be a dealbreaker for me
Do you prefer this monitor or the aw 3423dwf?
Alienware, I love that Ultrawide. If that was 240hz, I’d end monitor reviews
Would you rather have this over the Alienware? Or wait till a QD OLED equivalent release?
Prob QD-OLED if it’s glossy, brighter and competitive priced. This is the first of its kind so it’s got the early adopter tax,
Long term I think this will drop in price to like 7-800 USD
Nice review but it was lacking on hdr performance and it didn't me mention the subpixel issue with the qd oled vs this oled
HDR Barely a difference in use, hardly worth mentioning but I will pin a comment. and QD-OLED honestly I think people have that issue when they try to eat the monitor, but if you have it pretty far back, I don't even notice it
Would you say the input lag latency a game changer over the Alienware QD Oled?
Comparable. But the LG is smoother because of the faster refresh of course - game changer? No
I still prefer the AW personally if I picked one
Ips 4k or the LG 27 o led hmmm thought's?
What about text? I've seen other vids that complained about the sub pixel problems.
So between this monitor and the alienware, which do you prefer?
Also, love the video!
Overall, I like the Alienware better, see this video: ruclips.net/video/UVM7S1If_hU/видео.html
How is the text readability on this monitor?
Compare it to Odyssey G7 VA and LG C2 and Alienware QD OLED and Panasonic OLED please, Just for gaming, I do not care about "productivity". Can you please?
Idk why these monitors don’t have blue tooth, can someone explain to me why not?
Still bummed how LG, Asus and Acer all smeared a matte coating over this beauty.
Ayyy u play D2?? Thats hype bro.
Is it comortable for the eyes? I have the lg 27GP850 nano ips and after 1 hour use i have headache
Less bright than that I’m sure, max brightness it shouldn’t hurt your eyes, it’s actually pretty comfortable without strain so that’s why the brightness I do not think is an issue
I can play on my 27" oled all day with no issues on the eyes.
the review i was waiting for. but damn idk if i should get this or asus oled or stay with my aw3423dw
If you already have the Alienware just keep rocking with that haha, thanks for watching!
@@TooMuchTech yeah i should just wait. hard to say no to new tech tho lol. was debating between this or a 4k monitor. should i get a 4k one and if so do you have one to recommend.
I am the try hard one, not sure 240hz oled can beat 360hz TN (DyAC ON) or not in motion clarity, currently using Lenovo Y27GQ-25, a 1440p 240hz TN panel, need suggestion, thx
Yeah that monitor you have is barely available but, not a singular chance I spend anywhere 500+ on a TN panel these days. Even Zowie dropped the 240hz panel to 450 recently
Great review and game play of BOCW which is my favorite COD title.
Can you confirm or deny if this panel has the MLA (micro lens array) tech? That was supposed to make WOLED as bright as QD-OLED?
Pretty sure it does not. I think MLA will only be happening on the LG C3 & G3 series this year
MLA will only be on the G3, they left it out of the C3 unfortunately
Not currently available at Amazon
DDaddy you're glowing. Upload skin care routine bb
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
If they do a 1080p 240hz with BFI it will be E-Sports king even VS 360hz TN
do you notice the difference between the175hz qd-oled vs the 240hz woled in terms of the motion blur?
I do not, they are both crystal clear pretty much
This is a very important answer to me, thank you for that. So outside of the form factor the LG doesn't feel faster than the Alienware in any way?
@@chrisbeasley4727 It is hard to understand the difference between 165Hz and 240Hz.... my old 165hz monitor feels almost as smooth as this monitor. However I can tell you that the brightness is low so its for fast paced games but not all games. However QD-OLED has text fringing and I don't see any on this LG monitor
@@Jimster481 yeah I'm starting to lean to the Alienware if I update my PG279Q
@@chrisbeasley4727 yea I just hate the curvature. People have burn in problems already.
Kirneill was saying to set Black Stabilizet to MAX. Does this elevate dark areas to make it easier to see? Such as a dark corner in a room? Im noticing on some other reviews the blacks are wayyyy too dark but in your vieeo they look quite nice! Thanks for the review
Correct, if you are playing a game like warzone or a FPS where people hide in the dark, it would be to your advantage
Oled is great but the risk of burn in is real and texts are blurred. Hopefully they would find a fix for these two issues.
Both are the same resolution, just the alienware is ultrawide
@@TooMuchTech my alienware oled has 3440x1440 and the Lg 2560x1440 its Not really the Same 😂
All you have to do is put the AW in 16.9 when playing warzone and its a 27 inch panel. This is what i do when playing cod. I just got 27 inch oled last night to test out and the AW oled is definitely brighter and crisper with that glossy panel. I will probably return the LG.
Solid objective review
Thank you 👊🏾
The price should be no more than $800. Too dim, No burn in warranty and $100 tax on top making it $1,100. I'll pass and wait for 4K QD-OLED monitors.
Valid. something is telling me a 4K 240hz QD-OLED is going to be 1500-1800 tho haha
@@TooMuchTech I'd happily do extra shifts at work to save up 😅
4k at 27" is not noticeable enough to lose half your framerates.. But 32" plus 4k is lovely. Brightness for gaming is fine.
@@walker2006au 4K at 27 inch is noticeable the pixels per inch give it a sharper look. I don't mind 32 inch though.
Is the Monitor too dark in Dark Games where you can't see what your doing wondering about Dead Space the Game.
You can turn up the Black EQ and it makes those areas brighter
Great Review! But two questions,
1) Is the matte coating an issue in low (or NO) lighted rooms? I.e. do the blacks look as deep in those conditions as they do on glossy oled?
@@TooMuchTech Is there a way to turn off ABL on the LG Oled?
I do not think so, just the couple power saving options I was talking about that’s about it
How would you compare the Samsung g7 1440p 240hz to the LG oled 240hz? Cause I’m stuck on which one I want. They’re like $400 in difference too.
I used to have one, I am well past it. G7 is good but, it’s way too curved, and has worse viewing angles. This one is both faster and clearer than the G7
@@TooMuchTech hell yes! Thanks brotha! Also keep the good shit coming👊🏻
@@RyseShineReviews you know it, thank you!
I have the G7, it's a great monitor and tbh i don't even notice the curvature any longer, but I'm planning to get an OLED.
@@pirx9798 I was thinking of getting the g7 240hz 1440p. I’m coming from a 1080p monitor 144hz Asus. Is the g7 an upgrade from my current monitor and how is the image and the colors on it ? Thank you. Oh btw I also have a 3080 so I think that will work fine with a 1440p display.
wait for the QD-oled 27invh versions 1440p 240hz I feel like 700$ would be a good price
In Canada this monitor currently costs $1299.99 I would get the Alienware at that price.
Great, can't wait for the next industry campaign. "Frames can't win Games On just LED, you need OLED"
I pre-ordered the 27 inch I wish they would of made a 32 inch that's the sweet spot for me
32" at 4K absolutely
I love oled tech but i will wait for brighter and more sustained brightness models to come out.
Absolutely
When is that Asus monitor coming out?
I'm stuck trying to decide between this or the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7.
I mostly play PS5 games like Elden Ring, a lot of story rpgs & colourful indie games, but occasionally play CoD (although I'm not a serious eSports person at all).
I'm upgrading from a mediocre samsung budget 4k 60hz monitor at 28"... I guess i have some concerns about 1440p at 27", & also you said this is an eSports first monitor, so is it dogshit for story rpgs? How would you compare it to the Neo G7 for games like Cyberpunk or Demon Souls remake or something.
I moved on a long time ago from the G7, this is pretty much superior in every eay
@@TooMuchTech G7 Neo, not the G7 . I saw your old review on the regular G7, but you haven't done one on the G7 Neo which monitors unboxed has as the best 4K HDR LCD monitor right now with the mini-led 1200 dimming zones.
I want this LG OLED, at least I think I do. It's the right size so it'll fit on my monitor, and 1440p 240hz is better for my laptop (RTX 4080), not sure how 1440p will look from PS5 side though, even with VRR.
Idk, the 1440p has me worried it won't look sharp. But everything else about it seems fantastic
this oled has image and pixel restoration but its a complete different button. just want to let u know :)
390hz monitor or oled, what do u recommend me guys?
If you play a lot of Valorant specifically maybe the Acer 390 hz, but other than that specific case, I’d say wait for the tippity top OLED monitor to come out, but the price ranges are also completely different and not comparable lol
@@TooMuchTech thanks, idc about price, i want sometjing good overall for single player Games, movies, videos but above all competitive gaming, i'm a hardcore valorant player and battle royales, what do u recommend me?
