ഞാൻ computer hardware diploma പഠിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു തരാൻ ഒരാൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. Btech ഉം Mtechഉം കയ്യിലുള്ള ടീച്ചേർസ് എല്ലാവരും തന്നെ syllabus ൽ ഉള്ള കാര്യങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ മുറക്ക് മാത്രം പറഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നു എന്നല്ലാതെ... അവസാനം സഹികെട്ടിട്ട് വളരേ സീനിയർ ആയിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു sir നോട്‌ ചോദിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ് പറഞ്ഞു തന്നത്. എന്താണ് ബൈനറി എന്നും. ഇതെല്ലാം കറണ്ട് കൊണ്ടുള്ള കളിയാണ് എന്നും. കറണ്ട് ഉള്ള അവസ്ഥ 1 എന്നും. കറണ്ട് ഇല്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥ 0 എന്നും. എണ്ണമില്ലാത്ത അത്ര 0 നെയും 1 നെയും ദശലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് transistors നെ വച്ച് (processor) കണക്കാക്കാൻ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ compute ചെയ്യാൻ നമ്മൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഈ ഉപകരണത്തെ computer എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ഈ 0 ഉം 1 ഉം എവിടെ എങ്ങനെയൊക്കെ വരണം എന്നത് മെമ്മറിയിൽ സ്റ്റോർ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. ചുരുക്കിപ്പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഇത് തന്നെയാണ് മെമ്മറി. ഇത് ഒരു 8 എണ്ണം എടുത്ത്(eg:01110101) അതിനെ byte എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ഇതേപോലെ ഒരു 1024 എണ്ണം byte എടുത്താൽ അതിനെ ഒരു kilobyte അല്ലെങ്കിൽ KB എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു.
1024 KB= 1 Mega byte or MB
1024 MB=1 GB
1024 GB=1TB
ഇനിയും കടല് പോലെ കിടക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ നിർത്തുന്നു.
