This was recorded towards the beginning of his channel - which he started as a reaction to Covid. His newest, Carol of the Bells, is stunning, and it's a great way to see how much more sophisticated his production values are now. As he always does, he makes the song his own. His wife, Kathy, is his production manager - between the two of them, they do it all. No label, no manager, no producers. Geoff arranges, does the production design and edits.
He also plays all the instrumentals - usually on his midi keyboard and using plug-ins for the other instruments. Although he also often records others sounds to expand the soundscape. I don’t remember which song it was but there one which uses the sound of digging into sand/dirt for a percussion sound. I’ll echo that you might want to check his recent Christmas song “Carol of the Bells”. Most certainly lower than you hear here. It really ought to be renamed “Carol of the Cathedral Bells”. It’s as if done on the biggest bells imaginable.
Same here! I originally clicked on Geoff's version because my Dad always listened to the Tennessee Ernie Ford version, so I'd heard it since I was a kid, but even Ernie didn't get as low as Geoff!
Oh you must check out Geoff's Christmas offering this year: "Carol of the Bells" EPIC! He is extremely talented - not just in singing but arranging etc. as well. He is part of the acapella group Voiceplay (their bass) and they are BEYOND awesome! Thank you for the reaction 😉. ⚘️🕊
To get a good idea of just how large Geoff's range is, try I See Fire, a song that played over the ending credits of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Yes, all of the dwarves (very TALL dwarves!) in the video are Geoff, and like always, he sings all of the parts!
I always enjoy reactions to Geoff's solo work and to the group that he is a member of, VoicePlay. Geoff and Kathy borrowed the tools for this video from his dad's shed. His newest release, "Carol of the Bells" is stupendous. So, so many subharmonics! Thanks!
Geoff has done Carol of the Bells which is nothing like you've heard it before, and VoicePlay doing Zat U Santa Claus? an old Louis Armstrong song from 1952. A couple of recent Christmas songs are The Chipmunks (Christmas Don't Be Late) and Jingle Bell Rock (Mean Girls version).
Geoff has a 5 full octave range. If you ever watch voiceplay the beatboxer Layne have been friends since jr high of Geooff and he also has a 5 octave range.
Please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of The Little Mermaid. Very theatrical as they are known as The Theater Kids of a capella. Your daughter will love it.

@@hwyla4416 Maybe Carol of the Dragon Bells?
This was my introduction to Geoff which led me to Voiceplay. I never looked back!

You should listen to Hoist the colors from his group Voiceplay!
You have to watch Oogie Boogie song from Voiceplay
Funny as it is, this is all natural range - no subharmonics from him to go even lower.
Little bit of chest-fry on the final note, but that was for artistic purposes... still a chest connected note.
You need to check out "If I were a rich man - Voice Play ft. Ashley Diane '
You should hear a guy sing by the name Tim Storms. He has a Octive Range of 10 Octives. He's great. I highly recommend you need to listen to him.
