I have had one of these since new in 1985. Please search on line for the manual & have a read. They were designed to be simple to use, Like most Canons, they were shutter priority (Tv mode as Canon calls it) where as Nikon favoured aperture priority. (until cameras got clever and you could have both). Put the lens aperture ring to 'A' Then select. Program (for average shooting), Wide if using a wide angle lens (gives slower shutter speed and smaller aperture) or Tele mode when using a telephoto lens, which gives faster shutter speed and wider aperture) For Tv mode, you select the shutter speed & camera will set the aperture. if F/ number flashes fast in the viewfinder, it means the camera can not set the correct exposure as shutter speed has been set too fast or slow. For manual mode, select the aperture on the lens & shutter speed on the camera. Again viewfinder will grumble if it thinks exposure is wrong. There is no exposure compensation (I used the ISO for this) and you can only adjust shutter in full stops. Don't forget to select the correct ISO of the film either :o) After 36 years, the internal battery in mine still works! Went to change it this week (need to remove faceplate and top plate, so need camera repair skills) but found mine was still sitting above 3 volts. The internal battery is used to store useful stuff like ISO and number of frames shot. So if you take the AAs out, put them back in & the camera has forgotten these, time for a new battery, or else just remember to set the ISO if you change batteries mid roll.
@@jeffersondiuguid9844 Hi, please search the interweb for the manual, as it is a long time since I have used my T70 & can't give you a definitive answer. Does 'P/M' appear together in the viewfinder, or just one or the other? P is program mode & M is manual mode. They should not ever be seen at the same time. A slowly blinking P is a warning that the shutter speed is very low & could give camera shake. If the F stop is also blinking, it is a warning the subject is too dark (slow blink) or if too bright, fast blink. In manual mode, I think the blinking means a similar thing & you can adjust the shutter or aperture until the blinking stops to give (what the camera thinks) is the correct exposure)
I have one of these Canon T70 they were originally designed for the 1984 Olympics but came out too late it became the F1 and Sports camera.Really easy just set "A" and the ISO put on Average Program ,focus and shoot film.Should work okay!! Nice video love to see these old cameras being used.
Chris P .Bacon Not a bad idea! I try to avoid "reviewing" gear on the channel. I don't feel like we're super qualifed for that, but still, could review the experience. I'll see if I can work it in!
Canon T70 is a very simple camera to use, I have two of them. Have you noticed that the photographs that you took in the Light are much, much better than the ones you took in the shade.
Nice work guys, I like the concept! I have a T70 and ended up just using it in auto mode because it is so awkward to shoot it manually. Then you can use the "program wide" or "program tele" settings to control the depth of field to a certain extent.
We weren't even sure if it HAD an auto mode but I think everything turned out okay! We had a lot of fun, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching!
I bought one of these new in 1985. Loved it, and the 1980's Angular styling. Easy to use, once you've had a quick peruse of the manual. Not too impressed with that B&W film , to be honest, seems a bit flat.
I like the concept! I honestly have never even heard of the T70 but the pictures really turned out great. Amazing what you can find out there for (presumably) not much money.
I really enjoyed this video!!! Maybe you could give someone a fully manual camera that doesn't have a light meter, then also give them a chart explaining the sunny 16 rule (a way of judging exposure based on the sun / shadows ). It's pretty simple, but It would be interesting to see what someone with no experience can achieve without a light meter.
James Szylobryt Hey! Funny you say that because I'm shooting a SMENA toy camera in the next episode and I've never used an exposure chart before! We'll see how that goes hahaha.
Great job using the camera! The song used in this video was entertaining. Did it have a laugh track as well? I was searching online for more information on the Canon T70 since my fiance call me and said they had this camera in the Salvation Army for about $70 with a huge lens.
The video is great. The idea is good. Nice Fotos. I found it by chance because I bought the camera T70. Have subscribed to your channel. Many greetings from Hessen in Germany.
Me too! That or the crypt at 7:09 which I'm really really fond of. It was definitely tough trying to figure out a new camera but the fun is in the adventure of figuring it out so we have that!
Pretty cool video sometimes it’s nothing nicer than using an old school camera and yes you can still get some dam good photos if not even better than modern day cameras.
Really great (and funny) video. Had the same things with my Canon T70. Mine won't load the film. So i still have to fix that. But i think the Canon T70 could be a cool camera next to my Pentax K-1000.
I don’t even know if you’ll even read this 😂. But this video had helped me a lot I have to same camera. It’s my first time in a photography class and I don’t even know how to even use a camera but watching this helped me
That is so strange. I was just thinking of Canon T70 today. Searched a bit online to see the price etc and then your video came up! Great minds, i guess ;) Cool video!
HELP! I had 2 cameras that happens the same, I hope you can help me know what happens to my camera. I was changing the film to my camera and when I closed the cabin, my camera did not rewind, it just shows the three lines blinking. When I try to take a picture, it makes a little noise (like trying to grab the film) and a beep beep beep and again show the 3 lines flashing. Will my camera be damaged by the side of rewinding the film? Help me!
There are two buttons at the bottom of the camera that you pinch together and push in (at the same time) that will start the rewind process. If that doesn't work you can always just open the camera and rip the film out but obviously I wouldn't recommend that. Might see a pro shop to see if they can help you out O.o
Not everything is a reason to giggle. Got way annoying amazingly quickly. The T70, like the AE-1 Program is a very simple camera. Point, focus, and shoot. Youth, it's wasted on the young.

What does the P/M mean in the viewfinder and what does it mean when they flash?

mamiyapress Does that have to do with the T70's metering?
No, images of Light & Shade are more pleasing to look at than images taken just in the shade, they are more three dimensional.
mamiyapress I see! Thanks for your insight!
mamiyapress hii! What iso do you use when you shooting in daylight?
@@edaayilmaz9796 . . . what ever it says on the film, but spot meter . . .
