    Thank you for taking the time to make this video - personally I’m really impressed with this synth! Can’t wait until Ableton 12 is released. You’re a very good teacher too - love your style. Subbed

    Fave things that I’ve seen in Meld so far are the texture generators (vinyl, rain, bubble) and then that polyphonic gliss mode locked to scale. Those I’ll actually use, but that may be it.

    Rishabh Rajan _ I'm by no means a synth 'nut,' but was intrigued by Meld. You certainly - and instantly, made its capabilities transparently clear. While Ableton folks certainly speak good English, it's sometimes a bit 'gormless.' The simpler they try to make it, the more head-scratch it becomes, LOL. So very much appreciated.
    Is there any way to change "basic shapes," into users supplied material? I doubt it.
    Excellent video.

      Glad you liked the video. As of right now I don't think you can load your own custom waveforms into Meld.

    I’ve noticed that in Meld the LFO will abruptly stop its modulation as soon as you are no longer triggering a note. In other words, the LFO has no release. Do you know of a way to provide a release to the LFO, so that it doesn’t immediately stop as soon as I’m no longer triggering a note?

    Interesting how it has wavetables and sound way smoother than Wavetable synth, while not sounding "old" like Operator

      no wavetables at all here.

      @@christiankleine9551 one of the options called "Basic shapes" is wavetable synthesis. Simple, but wavetables nonetheless.

      @@foljs5858 No it's waveform morphing, not wavetables :-) Because the effect is similar, we used a very similar looking icon compared to the wavetable init shape. Wavetables are pre-stored waveforms, here we use synthesis (oscillators)...

    I wonder if the LFOs work at audio rates like those on Drift.

    • @rishabhrajan
      @rishabhrajan  8 месяцев назад +2

      They go up to 200Hz

      Thanks. I wish they were like Drift's LFO, but 200 is definitely not bad

    Thanks for the video. I like your presentation, but the synth really doesn't appeal to me personally. It doesn't feel like there is any reason to start using it. I understand that it kinda combines all ableton synths plus some fx and some functions into one, and that you can do many many things with it, but in my eyes that doesn't make it a useful or usable synth. This feels complicated and boring all at once. I also can't say I like the sound, as far as I hear in this video. I find it all very cold and digital, but I am definitely biased being an analog synth lover. And it is just raw synth sound without any further embellishing. Then again there exist soft synths that make me turn my head and want to start messing with, and this one doesn't do that at all.
