Personally I would just put in a positive line from the battery and then make a good ground at the rear on the frame since it's all ground/negative. Also would mount the connector on top of the hitch, never know when you might back into a dirt bump or berm, drop into a hole, hit a snow bank etc and that connector will loose that battle for sure. I like the crimpers, much nicer than mine!
I like this, looks clean. I’ve been thinking about putting something like this together right now. Only thing I would add is a fuse. I’d be worried about that hot wire from the battery going to the gas fill neck and getting red hot.
Thanks for the view and comment. Super easy to install and very convenient if you don't want to add an extra battery to your trailer. The only thing I am going to do is add a cut-off switch and mount inside on the dash. I saw one at Harbor Freight for like $7...I'll post a video of that in the next week or so when I get it installed.

Did these wires heat up using a winch I have a 12000 winch and want to run it from the back of my truck also has this set up served you well?
