A well choreographed and executed maneuver. It's very rewarding to do this correctly without damage or injury and this crew did it well. I just can't imagine how the hitch stayed on the ball with all the uplift created at the coupler by the frame dragging along the breakpoint between the ramp/drave way pitch change. Sorry, gawkers. Nothing to see here but skill and success. Press on!
If you have ever been a boat owner and were familiar about boat ramps, the sound of grating metal on the pavement in my opinion qualifies as extreme. I was holding my breathe the whole time. Nice job and nice boat.
Not sure if you guys noticed but I think you may have scraped the trailer a little bit on the ramp. There was a scraping-like noise. Sounded like scraping. Probably scraped the bottom of the trailer a little bit.
Craig carter, the tongue on the trailer was extended because when the tow vehicle gets to the point of floating the boat off the trailer the tires of the truck are still on dry concrete. Once the rear tires touch the green slime that grows on the ramp, it’s all over, that truck will end up in the water. If you don’t believe me, try walking in the slime at the waters edge and you’ll end up on your butt
You guys cut the video short. I guess you must have turned off the camera when the extremeness started happening. Happens all the time with rookie cameramen, they think the camera is still running and miss the extreme part of the shot. Oh well you guys are still learning I forgive you but for next time keep the camera running the whole time so nobody misses anything extreme. Thanks Guys!
That is A LOT of boat for that truck....THAT's what is extreme! The launch...the boat handling....The lookouts are properly positioned...The dock line handlers....EVERYONE knew what was needed and performed well. Well done!
RUclips generation I guess. Watching a group of competent people launch a large boat safely and without drama results in over 500 dislikes? People who know boats appreciate that this is a big boat to launch with only a 1 ton and trailer.
I used to launch and load my 93 Grady 25’ Sailfish model all by myself. With the bolt on bracket it was actually about 28’. I used a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive pickup and a triple axle trailer.
So for those that don't know. Quality T-Tops builds towers and t -tops, fuel tanks and other things for hundreds of boats and manufactures each year. The shop alone hold probably 50 boats at a time. If you listen in the backround you can hear shop noise. This boat was only loaded and unloaded to have work done. Located in Tarpon Springs FL.
Dean Kershner you've clearly never launched a 36 foot boat the costs several hundreds of thousands of dollars with a pickup truck. Boats belong in the water. This is very nerve-racking!
Obviously you’ve never launched a boat of that size and weight using a trailer... there’s a reason why that boat is supposed to be travel lifted in and out of the water. This was a lesson on how NOT to launch a boat of that size and weight.
ya, not extreme at all, ramp looks in great condition and that 36 GW doesn't weigh that much. Top is off, boat has outboards so it doesn't take much water to float it. Try this with a 35 Carolina Classic.
They made it a lot harder than it really is? the boat should be ready with driver at wheel, back it in til it floats and pull the truck and trailer out DONE in 36 seconds
There was NOTHING extreme about that, except your ground crew didn't know what the hell they were doing. It took entirely too long to scrape the shit out of your trailer and the concrete ramp.
WOW !!! Fascinating!!! I am waiting for your next movie when you eat a hamburger or a horror movie when you open the garage door. You have a great talent of a filmmaker.
Someone actually catch it! You can hear the trailer grinding on the concrete! But I don't blame other commenters. Guy doing the video was too far away!
Tremendous. That trailer was bending at the rails pretty good from the weight of that boat at the bow. There was A LOT of stress on the ball clip at the hitch once it started down the ramp I thought it would raise the back end of the truck if it didn't snap out of the ball first but I guess it worked out pretty good. A boat that long you need the really submerge the trailer to get any kind of floating out of that boat. Well done.
waylon earls .......The extreme part was where you stayed for the entire boat launch. Now like the rest of us; welcome to the “Extreme Idiots Boat Launching Regalia.” I agree with the one entry: It would have been more interesting to see how much concrete this guy scraped off the boat ramp while hi-centering his entire rig, especially if the tide was low when he returned.
My home port is Black River Harbor, North of Bessemer (near Ironwood), MI in the U.P. on Lake Superior. A remote and beautiful port set in the Porcupine Mountains and there is a reason why boat traffic is so light there. This ramp looks flat compared to the grade we deal with at BRH and I've seen guys burning all 4 tires (sliding from side to side) trying to get out their boats out; even on dry days. The charter captains and most larger boats put in/take out at Ontonagan, MI to the East because anything over 23 feet is an adventure on BRH. I always carry a heavy duty strap with hooks, because each year I end up hooking onto a couple of guys to help them out. BRH is one of the most beautiful and remote ports on the Great Lakes. It is located in the Ottawa National Forest (one of the last stands of huge virgin timber), so there are no structures on the high cliffs for miles in either direction. It is in the Porcupine Mts and the several waterfalls on the Black River and a long suspension bridge that spans the river adds to the experience. Some of the best native lake trout fishing on Superior and lots more to do for those who don't fish. Tons of hiking/biking trails. Check out Bear Track Cabins, Powder Hound Lodge and Black River Lodge for great places to stay close to the harbor on Black River Road. A must do is climbing to the top of Copper Peak; which is the highest ski flying (not jumping) hill in the world and one of the highest free standing structures. Open during the summer. After the ride on the ski lift, an elevator takes you up and from there it is 7 stories of narrow, grated steps (you can see through them) to a wooden platform just big enough for 3 people. Definite "pucker factor" involved and the top sticks out over the end of a Mountain, which makes it look much further down. Most people don't make it to the top.
I had a 20 ft. Grady Overnighter years ago..got caught 10 miles off Jupiter inlet one day in bad weather.went from 2to3, To 5to8 real fast..Jupiter inlet had outgoing tide witch made it worse..I surfed down south to Palm Beach Inlet.!! We we’re tied to the seats with Life-Jackets on..Took a “few” over the back and front..My Grady White saved us,,no doubt about it..
Actually, in the winter, depending on location the winter makes the water cold enough where bacteria doesnt really grow. youll notice the boats in the water dont have much growth at all in the winter because they cant survive in it. But it does freeze over around the docks, which can be fixed by bubblers, but its expensive.
I agree with Mr Printer. Why was the strap still on when the boat got wet? When you want to see how to launch a boat come down to Louisiana and we’ll show you how it’s done.
You are supose to prep the boat before putting it in the water, not afterwards. The boat ramp is on then off. If the hitch is adjustable for up/down he should also put it as high as it will go to help with the low slung trailer from dragging so much, or use the big boat ramp longer, more gradual decline.
We used to launch on a jetty me and two pals, literally slowed the boat by hand 25 footer.. used the trailer, took it into the sea and pulled up and out the water, that was double extreme
How so is it the right truck? A SC P4XL would offer higher hitch ride and less if any dragging of the poor trailer frame like they just did on that breakover.
Very Nice Launch ! real good example of challenging boat launch , I am guessing this had to occur after the Vessel was out of the water for extensive repairs .
What's next - a 6,400sqft quadruple-wide, double-high mobile home pulled by a 1,500hp Lingenfelter twin-turbo dually with quad stacks and a horn that plays Dixie??
Normally you can't trailer anything over 35 feet because its too big and too hard to trailer, you would normally hire a company to put this on a tractor trailer and have it lifted out of the water by a crane, but there were doing it on their own

After watching so many boat docking dummy videos it was refreshing to see some people that actually know what they’re doing.
If you have ever been a boat owner and were familiar about boat ramps, the sound of grating metal on the pavement in my opinion qualifies as extreme. I was holding my breathe the whole time. Nice job and nice boat.
Besides being one of the best quality boats, those lines are gorgeous. Grady white boats look good on the water and on the trailer.
Best boat launch I've seen on here, very well organized. The dodge has plenty of strength to tow that beast.
The “extreme” part was the trailer dragging a groove in the pavement.😂
Extreme would be how he pulls it out of the water
@@johnnywalker7350 I suspect that one made into the boat ramp “fails” video compilation.
And all these years I've been extreme launching and didn't even know it
!!!
This is a massively underrated comment! my thoughts exactly!
Nice
How the heck are there so many dislikes on this? I swear this was as clean a launch of a big boat I have ever seen on RUclips.
Not sure if you guys noticed but I think you may have scraped the trailer a little bit on the ramp. There was a scraping-like noise. Sounded like scraping. Probably scraped the bottom of the trailer a little bit.

OMG...that would be so exciting!
That lil dodge might not do it lol. Or at least with them tires
I for one, would flip, right the fuck out!!!

The only thing about the extreme nature of this video was the amount of time I wasted waiting for "extreme".
One of the reasons I always do a quick scroll through first to see if it's worthwhile.
Maybe the name of the boat was "extreme"
No, they just left a word out of the title: extremely.....boring
Tony Perkins exremely boring
Agreed
RUclips generation I guess. Watching a group of competent people launch a large boat safely and without drama results in over 500 dislikes? People who know boats appreciate that this is a big boat to launch with only a 1 ton and trailer.
All these people commenting about how this isn’t “extreme” have obviously never launched a 30+ foot boat weighing 7 tons at a ramp with a shitty dock.
Plus the trailer scraping on the ramp drop angle with all that weight. It was still good watching to me.
I used to launch and load my 93 Grady 25’ Sailfish model all by myself.
With the bolt on bracket it was actually about 28’.
I used a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive pickup and a triple axle trailer.
I got a 25 foot trophy pro Grady white triple axel, pretty heavy boats
Extremely un-extreme
Yes
Having said that. my work vehicle is 40m long and weighs over 70 tonnes, don't know if that helps me but probably not.
Extremely normal

Extremely nice boat.
Can’t believe a little boat like this has a bow thruster 🤠 😂 🇬🇧
I guess I missed the extreme part of this.....
Ha ha ! I was just about to type that comment!
The extreme part is launching with the transom straps attached. Most folks undo those in the staging lanes not with the boat in the water.
@@pineyLt I see. Thank you. J.B.

Well, that went "smoothly" At the ramp I work at over the summer, anything with the three axle trailer is something I'm not messing with
three axle trailer with roller skate wheels
Cmon, you got this😂
3 axle trailer, with roller skate wheels, with way too much weight on it.
Driving that thing to the ramp with that trailer sagging was dangerous as FK
Kudos to the guy that pulls this 12-13 foot wide boat down the road. I have trouble keeping my 8'6" beam between the lines.
i'd say the load on the front trailer axle at the ramp breakover was pretty extreme
A boat this size is best launched using a marine travel lift crane.
I didnt know you could launch a 36 ft boat that way. Glad it went well.
From the sound of that trailer grinding against the cement, I dont think it went all that well

A well done launch. I kept worrying they weren't gonna take the aft tie down strap off and that would be the "extreme" part. LOL
If the boat is big enough to make that Cummins grunt like that, I think it's time for a bigger truck.

The extreme part is when he goes to refill the boats fuel tank.
🤤nice job getting that beast in the water!!👍👍
lol i wanna see the recovery when their puttin it on the trailer xD
Rollers have a significant advantage but it is very dangerous if you unhook the boat before it reaches unlaunching time.
Yep, they might need about 4 more people especially if the wind is blowing. 🙂

A boat that size is normally brought in on a semi, and is placed in the water by a huge fork lift
To some below, ever think maybe they were just trailering it from a spot in the boat yard to the water after winter storage?
Did we forget about the back strap boys? :o)
I love boating, doesn't matter what type of boat or what the size, from launching to heading out. What a rush.
