    Story time:
    I just became a bearded dragon owner on march 17th, 2024. I named my 1 year old dragon Yoshi and I think my mom got him cheap for $30 from a rich family. When my mom first got him. He was very skinny and had a missing part of his tail. He was neglected so he needed a lot of love. He never had light so he was cold, and all he had was those red crunchy food. He never had worms and crickets when i first got him. This day, he's happy and had gotten crickets and trying to fatten him up. I'm still waiting to find horn worms to make him become fat enough to become healthy. And he shows me that he's happy by head bobbing. And he always wanna scratch the glass saying he wants out.

    They are not just “easy “to take care of. That makes ppl think u don’t have to do much. U have to spend time with them, get their cage the right temperature, make sure you keep their cage clean bc they poop in it. You have to give them baths, which they poo pin sometimes. And feed them well. And make sure to give them calcium so they have strong bones and live long. My beardie is 8 and my best friend but he isn’t just “easy”. He takes work! And if a person is lazy, they shouldn’t get one. It’s not fair to the animal.

      Just an fyi in case you didn’t know, bearded dragons can be a big responsibility (like with any pet)
      They can be very difficult and expensive to house and care for, and live a very long time too
      Please be sure to learn as much as you can about caring for them before deciding to get one

    All of these facts are completely wrong, and they cannot be cared for without a parental guardians help. I am not a child. It might look like that from my videos, but all of these facts are completely wrong. Besides, from the last one they are very cute and do look like little bearded dragons. I do not advise this man’s facts or advice from his channel. He is a very good content creator, but not a very good trainer.

    as an advanced reptile owner, they are not cheap, not for children because they could hurt it or the lizard could scratch them, and just overall not for starters or children. they require a calm environment and safe handling. a kid could drop them or worse. just stick to dogs for the kiddos. :)

    in my place, bearded dragon is not cheap and to actually keep it alive and healthy also very not cheap i mean the supplement, lighting, tank, food, medicine, vet appoinment and everyhthing, i think it is also not suitable for a child or newbie, it is easy to train and to tame but to keep it healthy is a bit challenging for a kid.

  • @puchi920
    @puchi920 2 месяца назад

    First off they are not cheap. They average cost if you are taking care of them right is about $40-$80 dollars per month. They need to be well taken care of if don’t want them to die. You have to cut up fresh salads for them at least once a day. They need to be in a 120 gallon tank. They will tell you you can do a small tank but that is not true. You will have to keep buying bigger tanks as they grow. This is why you just get a 120 gallon from the get go. You have to make sure their lights and temperatures are just right. Please do your research if you want a healthy bearded dragon. They are great support animals but they need a lot of care.

    From what I’ve heard I can definitely agree they’re a great ‘pet’ reptile for how docile and handleable they are, but I definitely wouldn’t consider them a ‘beginner’ reptile despite them often being considered as such
