I remember when stupid people would try and tell me that Erza beat Irene in the manga (before the final season even aired) im like no Irene killed herself because she couldn't bring herself to kill her own daughter. Then they were like no that's not how it happened im like dude I'give you the chapters it's in. And he refused to read them because he was so sure =_=...

I always see people shitting on this fight because Erza lost but the fight was more than a test of physical strength. It was a fight of conviction and a battle of ideals, yes Erza lost the physical fight but her spirit was so strong Irene gave up on hers.
Irenes physical strength was far superior to Erza’s but every attack Erza threw it lowered Irenes ideals until there was nothing left.

Yes she wasn’t a bad mother to begin with only when she met her again and she really did die I’m pretty sure ☹️☹️but makarov did not because Irene’s spell was off so she did really die and that’s what makes me sad because we all have mothers and fathers who wouldn’t be ☹️😞🙁😕😕

I tolerated Erza's plot armor up until she destroyed a meteor
I don’t see how destroying a meteor was intolerable. People have done crazier things before
VGMasta yeah, but apart from Gildarts, just because of the way his magic works, nobody in Fairy Tail should be able to destroy a meteor which was big enough to destroy the earth. Plus Ezra could barely move
@@MW2proification Irene is supposed to be really powerful and was shown so in previous episodes. But in this fight, it's like she was nerfed in power. Erza is a strong person but even stopping the meteor should've been impossible to stop to where Erza would be knocked unconscious or close to death or something like that. Irene shouldn't have even been taken down so easily in her dragon form. She was sliced, sure, but she still could've retaliated back. At this point, she should've been able to win against Erza and Wendy. If Erza was going to stay standing, then her most powerful armor like the one at the end of GMG should've been used. Honestly, this fight has do many things done wrong, even Irene's suicide should've had more scenes leading up to it
Not really, as it was shown in GMG, any spells have their own power levels, offensive or hax wise. I do not understand how destroying a meteor would knock her out when it did not hit her. Also her blade was infused with DS magic which it anathema to Dragons. And technically Irene did won despite people’s opinions. Remember, Nakagami armor was a one move thing, which leaves her vulnerable to any attack and and cannot fight back against Irene, looking at it now, this was the best course of action to take. Irene was insane so her mind set would not be all there.
@@MW2proification You're arguing about meaningless things. Irene is a wizard who was able to enchant the entire continent. Her level of power was so ridiculously powerful, she should've been able to kill Erza with a spit, and not to mention hurting her, Erza shouldn't have been able to scratch her with her sword in her dragon form.
