- Teaching in China, I have met Baguazhang Style ("eight trigram palm") Master Zhang in his temple from Zhuhai, Guandong. Master Zhang is coming from the sacred Wudang Mountain and even if he is more than 60 years old, he is moving with the speed and agility of a tiger.
My Muay Thai coach taught me a simple Baguazhang style set of movements that when combined with the Muay Thai/Muay Chaiya triangle style footwork is extremely effective footwork for modern striking. It may look artistic in the way he is doing it here but in addition to being artistic there are extremely useful movements in baguazhang that are useful for circling one's opponent. I have used it in the context of an actual MMA match and noticed my opponent had a look of fear on his face at one point when I started circling him like he was a prey animal about to be eaten. I like these spinning footwork techniques because it allows me to create angles on opponents that are really hard to create with the normal linear footwork patterns
Man this looks so stunning! Martial arts are really beautiful!
This just made me incorporate even more miles of axons on my neurons... Glad I found it. Now I have to learn This ^_^ Respect.
AWESOME DISPLAY OF BAGUAZHANG....ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, POWER WITH GRACE AND DIGNITY....
Thanks so much for the fine video! This demonstration is a testament to the health maintenance qualities of Bagua Zhang. The name "The School of the Heart" is a wonderful name for a school because, to me, the elevated qualities of the heart like joy, gratitude, appreciation, care, love, and compassion are the sweetness of life and can help lead to blissful health. 🙏🏻❤️🦋
Very Good Bagua Zhang !!
WWWOOOAAAWWW! This was awesome! Namaste master Daniel!
Good and very inspiring. Would like to practice with him. Would like to hear the filming without music and listen to the stepping and palm change. Can you post a version without music? Thanks Xie xie
This is literally airbending
this is what airbending was based off
Waterbenders (tai chi chuan), Earthbenders (Hung Ga kung fu, for the most part), Firebenders (Northern Shaolin kung fu) and Airbenders (baguazhang).

Beautiful!!
Great flowing Baguazhang.
Wow, that is hypnotising
Can I ask what specific style of pants and shirts that he is wearing? This clothing looks very traditional and I would like to wear something like it during practice. Where might I purchase also... Thanks...
Not sure if you can get these type of Martial Arts clothes outside China although nowadays there are stores everywhere with similar pants and shirts or probably you can look online and try to find something similar; what he wears is done right there in the area he is living.
I have a question for you, if someone practices this art and they are an agile and skilled person already, how often are flips, trick kicks, and trick twists performed?
Its said that there was an High Level Training called "Qing Gong" Light Body Training. You only learned it after you have become pretty good. This kind of training likely involved things like you mention.
@@BeifengDaoren okay, thanks, I'll look into that, I'm a martial arts tricker
thank you Master, amazing video :) very helpful for me as a beginner
Thank you too!! ❤️
Wonderful!
I want to draw such a Taijitu in my garden.
This dude is AMAZING! 👏
Excellent Movement Master:)
His BAGUAZHANG is good
Perfect move with Awesome background music. Great clip. What is that song called, please?
Beautiful
Is there a circle walk sequence for each of the 8 palms?
In most Bagua styles that I know of, yes. Typically there are 8 palm changes and each palm change is done in a clockwise and a counterclockwise movement around the circle.
Excellent cette fluidité !!! Merci au maître merci à vous je suis abonné plus le pouce :) :) :)
Looks good!
It is not true that Baguazhang comes from Wudang Shan. Dong Haichuan invented Baguazhang when he was living at Jiuhuashan among Taoist priests.
Wudang Shan has become associated with Tai Chi and Baguazhang due to a government decision in the 1920s to group them under the Wudang label at the Central Guosho (old name for wushu) School in Nanjing. All internal styles were arbitrarily assigned to Wudang, and all external styles to Shaolin, even though most of these styles originated elsewhere.
In 2017, the Chinese Baguazhang Association made a road trip to Wudang Shan looking to explore the origins of Baguazhang. I was there when they presented their findings, which stated that Baguazhang did not originate in Wudang Shan and few people there practiced it. If they did practice Baguazhang, it was usually a modern, flowery style that became popular after the 1960, geared for performance rather than fighting.
If somebody claims lineage from Wudang Shan for their Tai Chi or Baguazhang, their teacher his teacher probably learnt it elsewhere and moved to Wudang Shan afterwards
actually the art of t'ai-chi ch'uan was not even named until yeung-lu-chan, a contemporary of dong hai chuan, arrived in beijing
Ken Lek Didn't taiji quan originate in Wudang?(or wudang was born because of thw taiji) - as I understand from wiki
why u dont just enjoy??? damn !!!!
Do you have an opinion on who teaches legitimate bagua? Trying to find someone who really understands structure and internal principles.
Wales.Mohammad in houston has the best bagua I,ve ever seen, his form looks like he,s floating, and I will start teaching also
Aang the last airbender, fifty years later
I love this video. Can you tell me more about Master Zhang, especially his full name? Thanks for posting it.
Талант краса
Variations of the Gao YiSheng style of bagua, with a little wushu accents
So this is 8 trigram palm style?
He is focused on one of the last palms, which is one of the best.
Is there any school in houston tx that teaches authentic bagua?
Walee Mohammad has the best period, and I.want to teach, just send email
Excellence
Whats the purpose of this Martial Art?
Flow.
The system looks similar to the gao lineage?!
Liu style
a mixture of Cheng and Fu style, with some chen tai chi bits in it. many techniques from snake "gua".
Daniel Mitel - School of the Heart This was......amazingly beautiful. The movements were so fluid. Thank you for this upload Teacher. respects to You &&' your Sifu🕉
Almost exactly like Gao style, except with flourish added. Snake, Dragon, Tiger, Sparrow, etc.
I was going to say the same.
Superb!!!!
Hey, I will be 60 years old this August with a BMI of 23. I bet I run faster than you. I taught myself Wing Chun. I believe I understand the Wing Chun moves more than some so-called Wing Chun masters. I play two sticks using the Bat Jaam Do technique in Wing Chun too. LOL Baa Gua is much more difficult to apply in real fights than Wing Chun. The forms are beautiful. I have only seen a couple of masters using this system effectively in real fight applications so far. One of them was showing his technique in a very short footage shot in Hawaii. One of them is teaching in the national academy of kung fu in China.
Hawaii is Sifu Matsuo
Soundtrack please
Eyes (or glasses) similar to Dalailama's :)
His Bagua looks more like Cheng Bagua and less like Jiang(Wudang) Bagua....
Who's here because of naruto? Hyuga Clan FOREVER

耍的漂亮。。。
How beuty it's is
Nice movement.
Nice dance
he clearly doesn't know what the opening sequence is for since he doesn't complete it. it's a choke escape but then when the arms are trapped you need to strike. he does the start but not the finish. I doubt this guy knows any applications of these forms. most of that was lost on the mainland because the cultural revolution murdered most of the boxers. the rest fled to taiwan
