luvin the new direction!, I was getting tired of the nike dunk hype videos of a late, the new direction for the channel is the beauty of "the casual" Japanese/fashion with your "own" personal style from the eyes of REGGIE the pro! luving it man!
I have a suggestion: when you mention certain places, like Shimokitazawa, etc, you could display the name in kanji (and kana) at the bottom of the screen. Then I could pause the video and write that down.
Great video...!! I'm Japanese, but I have learned from you very much. You have your own style and at the same time, you have an objective point of view. And you know the real history of Japanese fashion. I'll always be your fan and support you.
Been to Tokyo twice and I made sure I spend 90% of my waking hours outside and I recognise every single shot you took. Missing Japan so badly smh. You should take us through yoyogi hachiman, imo one of the most beautiful areas for photoshoots + hidden gems + train crossing ambiance. Went there for Little Nap and ended up spending 6 hours wandering munching on bakeries from next door, fkin bliss
THIS IS THE CONTENT THE STREETS NEED!!! I was in Osaka earlier this year. Recently just came back from Tokyo last month for vacation. The Evisu store in Daikanyama is like heaven for me. I'd love to see more exploration into your favorite stores that sell the best Japanese denim!
I was in Hirajuku 3 weeks ago and remember shopping in a couple of places in the video. Miss Japan! Great video, cannot wait to check out some of the other stores next time.
great video! and I have been enjoying the recent videos too. Nice to see the channel back to what it does best. This is the channel I recommend as a rite of passage to friends heading to buy clothing in Japan. This channel has helped me to be informed and expand my curiosity to explore more brands I am less familiar that will hopefully be covered in the future.
Hey Reggie! I just left Japan today and during my trip to the Harajuku area I actually saw you perusing the Onitsuka Nippon Made store! Was going to say hi but you were speaking with someone. Anyway you should definitely do a video on Shimo-kitazawa in the future! Maybe explore how second-hand stores operate in Japan!
Love this whole video, from the commentary to the videography to the music. Great format and easy to digest but still leaves you wanting to find out more!
Wow, gonna be living in Japan for the next year and found myself on Cat Street last week, so it was quite the surprise to see this video pop up on my feed! Cool stuff
Thanks for a great video! I would love to see your take on something like Koenji, which in my experience has a lot of vintage, although you do have to look hard for something special… Or at least, that was my experience, not being a local…
One thing I wonder is whether prices for secondhand are higher in Harajuku than in other places in Japan. Is there more of a markup? But I guess, for example, that if certain items are for sale online as well as in the store, they'd have to be in line with similar online items. I am thinking of Second Street in particular.
This is great info to know. While on summer trips to Japan, I never went to Harajuku while in Tokyo. I wasn't really interested in the traditionally known Harajuku style. But, it's good to now know of other areas within it and hopefully, there will be lots of shops for females, too. While in Japan on 3-week vacations, I was busy with other areas of Tokyo like Omotesando, parts of Shibuya, parts of Shinjuku, even Aichi, and also my long time favorite department stores. Since I always stay in Marunouchi, I was close to Ginza and the areas nearby. Maybe on the next trip, I'll stay 3 days each in 3 different areas of Tokyo to cut down on subway commuting time. It just hit me that I was on Cat Street as I went into Opening Ceremony and bought a pair of sneakers. I didn't realize that that was Harajuku as I thought that it was Shibuya. When I finished shopping the street, I went to the Shibuya subway station and went back over to Marunouchi. I remember shopping in Omotesando and afterwards just roaming the streets and accidentally ended up on Cat Street. Tokyo is like a maze and it's difficult to figure out where one district ends and the other begins. Greetings from Los Angeles
Hi! It would be so useful to have the names of thebplaces you mentioned in the description. Sometimes i dont knkw how to spell it out when searching in google 😅 sorry
Not even close to most brands going global. The major ones yes but Japan still has a ton of localized brands doing amazing work and it’s still difficult to get Japanese designers out west. Japan still has its charm it’s just nobody covers the new stuff anymore. They cover the same brands over and over.
@@THECASUALco I mean most of the ones that are well known how about that. My bad on not elaborating because I think most people here aren't OG's or know the most. I was there when they had an Originalfake shop probably back in 2007. I mean with streetwear becoming not as niche, that's just how it goes. I mean Bape getting sold to iT was the icing on the cake.
Hi, There’s so much focus on 2nd hand and street style. Would love if there’s stores and local designers to check out that sells more avant-garde, oversized and Japanese inspired silhouettes, like Yohji, Y3, Rick Owens. Any suggestions!? 🙏🥷
I like this format because I feel like it’s less jaded and more passionate. Nice job!
Just left Japan last week, Harajuku was my favorite place. I loved it
Every time I've gone to Harajuku I blitz past Takeshita street for ura-hara. It's def the place to shop at in the area.

I’ll be sure to do that next time!
This is great information. Love the street fashion items.
This is the type of content I’ve been waiting for

We’ll think of something for sure!
Thanks for the video. I like this kind of presentation...
going there next year!
lets go reggie!!

great video! it's like a great call back to when you first introduced Chicago in Harajuku way back then

Refreshing !
Yes dude! So glad to see the return of Reggie in harajuku. Great video man.
さっぱるね......現場のお仕事 💙
long overdue, dope content.
would love more in-depth coverage of individual fashion houses....and out of town trip to 岡山。

Enjoying these videos. Would be cool if you can show us more of the shops inside. Definitely looking forward to more.
We have to plan with the stores ahead of time but it can be done
I love the old videos where you walk the street and show all the different stores that are on every street and what some of the less know stores sell
Love this whole video, from the commentary to the videography to the music. Great format and easy to digest but still leaves you wanting to find out more!
More to come
@@THECASUALco Really looking forward to it!
I’m heading to Japan in 2 weeks, thanks for this video!
Went on a tour with you in person way back, really put me on to so much. Really great to see you continuing to thrive and share your passion
loving this, same vibes as some older Casual vids!
I’m soooo excited to go… just need to save!
love this style of vid!
Just got back from Tokyo!! Thank you for years of Japanese fashion content. Best time of my life ❤️
Haven't watched the video yet, but I just wanted to tell you that the thumbnail for the video looks super dope.😎
Just in time for those visiting Japan! Very similar vibe to your original videos but in an improved format. Keep it up! 3:40
Wow, gonna be living in Japan for the next year and found myself on Cat Street last week, so it was quite the surprise to see this video pop up on my feed! Cool stuff
Amazing content, would love to see you do a run through of Koenji's vintage scene!

The bnb I stayed at in November 2022 was right in front of that ragtag store on cat street
I think a video about daikanyama would be interesting. I've heard cool stuff about it but wasn't able to visit it sadly enough
mann reggie san just teasing me here in the states
4:25 what brand makes that beautiful piece?

Second street is notoriously overpriced BUT has an amazing selection
WE BACK BABY!
Oh wow just saw this movie after I went to Harajuku last night 😅
Cool segment. Where do the old but fashionable go to shop? 🤔
Reggie reporting live
I'm a big fan of Kingly Mask and they're right in the heart of Harajuku! Whenever I need something unique Harajuku is definitely where I go.
@thecasualco where is your hat from?

would love to see the intersection - differences and similarities alike - of japanese, chinese and s. korean street fashion.
I will do a bit of studying and make sure to do something a bit more comprehensive.
Just asking but where was the old nowhere store located when it was still open?
Hi! It would be so useful to have the names of thebplaces you mentioned in the description. Sometimes i dont knkw how to spell it out when searching in google 😅 sorry
Will provide it next time!

This area was at its peak around 15-20 years ago. Most brands have gone global. Japan is no longer the hub it was.
