A peg board will do the exact same thing. The advantage of this system over a pegboard is the weight capacity and the ability to hold tool boxes. But I'd rather use the Fasttrack for hanging heavy stuff. If the price goes down then I'll probably consider it.
As a homeowner I'm personally not sold on the system. It takes up a lot of valuable wall real estate that's better suited for my 3) 77 in. W x 78 in. H x 24 in. D) garage shelving units, a large work bench (simulator to yours) with a large metal peg board mounted to the wall behind it and a large tool chest next to it. I have a toolbox full of hand tools on my peg board that I use pretty much daily. Thanks for the video tho!
Got my first 4 rail and hooks kit and im feeling like i wont be able to hang all my tools. I wish they designed specific hooks for each individual tool that would upright and correctly hold them off the trigger. Then i could hang my 1" SDS, Brad nailer, types tools aswell not just drills and impacts. Ill have a sweet little impact station but what about the grinder, recip, jig, circular saws. Awesome show must have 2k in link on the wall.
Honey I now what I want for my Birthday. Best yet I won't be in the house bothering you. 😆 Great Video Logan would like to see the 18v Bug Zapper. Got mine marked down to $39 new. Then they disappeared for awhile.🤔
A garage remodel is in the books next year for me. Was going to have a band of stainless slot and peg board on two walls. Between upper and lower cabinets. Being deep into the green brand, this may make me rethink it. I think I'll definitely have a least a couple spots where this could be helpful, for long pole items such as lawn equipment (rakes, shovels) and in the laundry room (vacuums, mops, brooms). I'll need to see how you deal with the shelves and boxes before doing a full commit though. Great vid.
Excellent video! Excellent system! In my opinion, worth every penny. The versatility of this system is amazing. If they made boards to hang the chargers it would be even better. Overall, I spackled my shorts watching. Thank you for the video, great job.
I love the idea and I think it would work great, it's just a lot of money to really have a good setup when a pegboard would do the job for much cheaper
I was excited to see these products come out, but now. To be honest I used a simple piece of plywood ( 1’ x 8’) with screws sticking out to hang all of my “Expand-it “ attachments and I’m still quite happy with that. I am a so-so DIY er so I tend to keep all of my power tools in a cabinet. Bottom line, I just don’t think the Links system is for me. It’s cool! But I don’t think I would personally get my monies worth out of it.
I like it but even the bundles don't help enough on the cost. I might buy the tool box stack though. Or buy the smaller bundles as I expand what I want to rack.
Are these safe for a concrete wall in my garage? My house is settling a bit because the contractor who built my bathroom, smacked into my foundation with a backhoe. Walls are getting cracks in the drywall next to the ceilings and doorways so my wife is worried about the stability of the wall.
Cool man, thanks for the looksey! My ocd would probably want to stack them more or less like you did, but looking at it set up, I’d probably do every other row to maximize your money’s worth (the rows behind hanging tools)
I'm very disappointed so far when it comes to putting the crate on. I just mounted a couple rails and I still can't get the crate to attach. I took it down and put in on one that wasn't on the wall and I saw how it went on but i still couldn't get it to hang. Now the crate is on the top rail but still it should be nowhere near as hard as that to get it on. Even the hooks I had force down in the slots. I love how it works that I can organize everything. I especially wanted it for the crates but what a let down so far. I'll eventually get it to work but still it should lock in no problem. I checked to make sure the rail was in the right position and it was. I think I tried a dozen times and still no progress
Bragging rights plus pegs don’t look that good and I had them then I switched to Milwaukee packout wall storage treat yourself it always can be sold later!
It cool but wastes too much space, I'll tune in for the shelf systems. For right now it's a no for me, I currently utilize a combination of slat Walls and peg boards. I couldn't justify the rail systems for the same reason, limited vertical ability...
Thanks for a very good video. I saw the product at the local home Depot and was going to buy and add to a wall but after seeing the video I am not going to waste my money. I really hate the look and don't think it is very functional.
Looks very nice, but since you failed to give the cost for that setup I will go with it is too expensive for most people. I'm not seeing the comparison to rubbermaid fast track, a 84in rail is only $17 my understanding is the Ryobi 2 pk of rail is at or above $30 and nowhere near 84 inches. Even the fast track hooks seem to be less expensive than the Ryobi hooks. Very disappointed in the Ryobi price.
Sorry about that, definitely should have included the total cost in addition to the individual prices. What you see on the wall was just under $600 with tax.
I think the word “peg board” has become a generic term like Fridge. I do have some “peg board” but nothing visible. I found “peg board” a poor way to organize. Unless the hooks screw to the “peg board” they always come loose or off at the least opportune time.
Not exactly. The hooks are not designed for a specific tool. Instead, they are generic to fit more than one tool. But most tools will fit on at least one or more of their hooks. And once the shelves, bins, and boxes are available, nearly everything should be able to go on the wall.
It is a pricey system, but a worthwhile investment if you want a really cool looking wall storage system. I don't have a garage and my tool space is a rather small room that is already lined with pegboard, so I won't be going for this, but I am looking forward to the packing cases.
Its not that expensive for what most of us need and with this middle of the road HD peg board/fast track style modular system. 60$ to get two rails with some hangers at home depot to start off is not unreasonable. This system will probably come down in price I just hope it stays the same in quality once it actually comes down in price
Do you know it’s kind of annoying is when you buy those Ryobi hooks and you think that they hooked to a regular wall. That’s what pisses people off and causes them to go right negative comments on the distributors website.
I dig the way you mounted your battery chargers and batteries. Little surprised Ryobi hasn't come out with an adapter that would allow the chargers to mount to the honeycomb board..maybe that's something in the works. Although, honestly, after having to "toss" so many batteries the last couple of years, I finally decided to move all of mine out of the garage and inside the climate controlled environment of the house. Hate having to take up space in the house with 40 and 18 v batteries, but those suckers are just too damn expensive to let them lose charge capacity at the rate they do in this south texas heat they are exposed to in my non-climate controlled garage.

I am a RYOBI-addict. And I have a nice spot in my garage I can install some rails and improve my storage. I will definitely give it a try.
we too are RYOBI-Addicts
It’s expensive but I’ve already started buying pieces. They need chargers that fit the link system.
YES!!!! Chargers that fit the system PLEASE!! Also... maybe a entire wall rail that is powered somehow...🤔
😂 You and me both! I’m already invested. Can’t stop now until I’ve collected them all!
I’m sure you could modify some cheap attachments and mate them to a charger. And voila.
They have this square green things that attach to this wall systwm and you can attach anything u want to it
I agree 100%
Looks awesome! Paint the wood black. Love it. Great job
Yup, that is the plan! Thanks!

Literally the first thing I said when you started on the wall was “did he measure the height of his cabinet first” lol. But nice job. It looks great!
I know right! 🤦♂️ 🤣
I cut mine in half! And it works well!

I was back and forth on cutting one. Have a small wall space at the end of my current wall mounts and it is driving me nuts.
I cut a few because my wall was short and it works perfect they hold the shape and they work
Can you mount the rails vertically?
I love the idea and I think it would work great, it's just a lot of money to really have a good setup when a pegboard would do the job for much cheaper
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how this system does and if they end up dropping the price at all.
@@SolelyRyobi I think it would be wise for them to make it just a little more affordable.
@@Tammacazi10 Agreed.

Yes, it is the older version.

Where do you get the ryobi belt clips? I love ryobi, but it’s annoying the tools don’t come with them in the box.
I love the look of it and the easy setup. But I’m not sure how interested I am at the current price. 💰

Cool man, thanks for the looksey! My ocd would probably want to stack them more or less like you did, but looking at it set up, I’d probably do every other row to maximize your money’s worth (the rows behind hanging tools)
Absolutely, every other row would be a great way to save money as they are unused anyway!
As most tools hang and cover the rail below I think you can get away with half as many rails.
Are these only in the US as I can't seem to find them any where in the Aussie roybi website
Good question, not sure about that. That would be lame if they weren’t available in Australia
