Holy NWOBHM yer Dad is in Budgie !! My Dad was a Cool Hillbilly from the hills of Tennessee ! But he didn't write no songs ! But seriously - I'm trying to play this on guitar (I'm a bass player that wishes he could play lead !) and I was trying to figure out the tuning. One place says it's D major. But then it doesn't fall on the 5th and 7th frets on the A string. I thought it was like a hammer on from 5 to 7 on the A string, right ?
Budgie were great, Metallica were intense, this is how it always sounded in my head. Just listened to Budgie, Metallica and Florence Black in a row, this version blows the rest away!
@@graboomdoa Respectfully disagree. I will always prefer RCHP's "Higher Ground" than Stevie Wonder's (excellent) original. I will always prefer Metallica's "Whiskey in the Jar" than Thin Lizzy's (and as it's an old Irish folk song the many bands that have also covered it before Lizzy). Bob Dylan himself said that Jimi Hendrix improved "All Along The Watchtower", although, perversely in this discussion, I prefer the Dylan original. In this context I love Budgie's original, but Florence Black (who are Welsh just like Budgie) nail it. Peace.
It's not the Metallica version, it's not the Budgie version, yet somehow it is both of them at the same time. Song structure, riffs and solos of the original from Budgie mixed with Tempo, intensity and vocal style of the Metallica cover and you still found room to make it your own. Very well done!
I saw you guys last night in Tenby! Absolutely loved it guys!! Lots of lovely raw power. Also, it's also great to see a fellow drummer smashing seven bells out of the kit!!!!!
Wow phenomenal production!! Every track you young bloods release just gets better and better. Bravo lads, much respect and success coming in the near future for you all!!
saw you at the king billy in Northampton recently was such a flashback to hear such a great version of breadfan. Saw Budgie play the original back in the 70s ;-) I'm obviously old lol
saw them 2 times in frankfurt and yesterday in stuttgart as opening act for boehse onkelz....what a f...cking great live band ! i hope these guys came back to germany ! breadfan is live absolute killer !
@@swifferwetjet1_288 I think you need to pop in a store for a heareng test..Metallica/s version is, frankly, appalling!! At least FB do the song justice.
I reckon it beats Budgie’s. Mainly the singer’s voice completely elevates it and the riffs and drums are kinda edgier. I think it is great when a band covers someone else that they bring something new. Florence Black pulled it off. Hats off!
I heard you guys on Planet Rock today, playing "Start Again". That track is great great,so looked you up, stunned to see you are a three piece, with the sound you have. You guys have done an awesome job with Breadfan!
Budgie. One of the best ever. Saw em stateside back in the day. Burke, Steve, Tony and second guitarist, if I remember right John Thomas. Maybe 1979? A really great cover by Flo.
Brilliant cant wait to hear this live in sheffield at the corp in 2 weeks make sure you do play this fuckin gem of a song boys!!!!.....See you down the front!!!!!
Just heard this for the first time - my Dad wrote this song, you get the Shelley seal of approval! Cheers guys :-) xx
Knew your dad, lovely guy, used to go to Budgie gigs with my cousin, Janet. He showed me how to play Guts...loved it :)

Whoa ! I just listened to that cover of Runnin Up That Hill ! Excellent !
Listened at 13-14, got the vinyl 4 .50cents at garage sale. Tune kicked ass then and still does now. A1
Wow, met ur dad a few times gig,n the west country uk. He was a top man and great singer bassist. Budgie were the greatest!
Nice to see young dudes knowing their history. Nailed the song guys , grats.

Metallica piece of crap soldout band
It’s quite literally impossible for a cover to sound better than the original….. because it’s not the original
@@graboomdoa I think it depends on which one you listened to first imho , if you loved the track, thats the one that sticks...
Totally agree! His voice is much more suited to it than Budgie’s singer’s. Great cover. I saw them on stage and they did a great job.

This is my all time favourite Budgie song! Burke Shelley excelled himself with this one. Magnificent.
Nice job on the acoustic middle section! Nice, sinister Alice In Chains vibe!
Delicious
Good. Budgie greatest metal band of all time
Epic tune, and a great tribute to Burke Shelley from the band. I can't see it not appearing on the set list ever.

Brilliant version. Sang and played with feeling. Saw them play it live at Winterstorm. Blew me away 🤘

same here Keith, Budgie played Liverpool regularly

Budgie continua vivo !
Seeing these guys tonight at the Redhouse, a hometown gig for the boys and it will be insane.
2nd best version of Breadfan. Nothing beats Budgie, but this is bloody good and 300 times better than Metalica
@spudy1216 the one from seattle 89 was so much better than the studio versions of it I'd give it a listen if you haven't
Although this is nothing like the uniqueness of budgie it is better than metaliccas take

Good cover! Got to say, Budgie hit a major home run with this little riff.
This version over the top... Thanks guys
I've had this song stuck in my head all day.
BOOM...💥💥😎🤘🤘🤘 I haven't heard a bad track from these guys.....Rock is safe....🤘🤘🤘🤘😎👌

These boys are amazing ......
Amazing! Saludos desde Asuncion, Paraguay!

Much better than most successful bands... no agent, with a bit of good taste, to help these guys take off?!
Hai-sai from Okinawa… Budgie was one of my favorite bands when I was a kid! Good job.
Love it! Well done fellas. Hope to see you over here in the States sometime soon.
Love your Positive waves Stymie woof woof
Isn't this a Budgie cover? I really like this!! Well done! This has some serious drive!
Oh hell yea!!!! Awesome job guys
Never heard of Florence Black before, but I guess if they like Budgie then I like them.
Hoping to hear this in a few weeks at Chepstow castle. BRING THE NOISE
Awsome cover, I really enjoyed it.
I applaud Florence Back for taking this path. A breath of fresh air.
Brilliant cant wait to hear this live in sheffield at the corp in 2 weeks make sure you do play this fuckin gem of a song boys!!!!.....See you down the front!!!!!
It will be worth the wait Chris.
Love this version.😍
100% the best cover!!
Fantastic band, such energy. Enjoying discovering their music 🤘❤️
Hell ya! The first image that jumped into my mind was Stone Cold walking into the ring and having beers tossed at him with this track rocking!
This is the coolest version I’ve ever heard of this song.
Brilliant version of one of my favourite songs
Brought right up to date. Brilliant well played chaps
Sauber und geile stimme!

This is the best ,fuckin, awesom cover from this song .
Yeahhhhhhhhhhh🔥🔥🔥🔥this boys rocks the world 👌👌👌
Great band! Saw them yesterday and they were tearing it. Proper rock n roll!
And actually I really like their cover. It is a bit slower than Metallica’s and the singer’s voice is great on it.
I’m a big Metallica fan…but this is in fact the best cover of Breadfan I’ve ever heard!!!
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had the originbal Budgie LP. This is is on par - or better
AWSOME!!!
You guys kick ass
Best breadfan cover ever
I agree!
Best Band from the Valley’s “Ever”
best version of beadfan
Balls out guys total balls out cover and very true to the original, I have seen Budgie perform Breadfan and i think that they would love your version.
Yes lads!!!! 🤘
Yep, you nailed it.
Hey, that’s cool. John Burke Shelley (Original Bassist and Vocalist in the Band) passed away yesterday on the 10th of January 2022. This is for him.
Cracking Vid - Good editing, I'd like to see your studio version on here also boys ;-)
The best cover of Breadfan :)
Awesome cover boys!
Better than Metallica's version! The original will always be my favorite though!
Exactly my view
spudy1216 this is the og
Better than Metallica's studio version but the way Metallica played it in Seattle 1989 was batshit crazy !
Aside from the Metallica-esque vocals (I way prefer the Budgie original in terms of style), this is awesome... GREAT JOB!
they probably got more inspired by the Metallica covers
Badass 🤘🤘🔥🔥
HOLY HELL GENTS!!! F TO THE YEA!!! 🤘🤘
Wow, this arrangement is fucking brilliant.
Hands down: Best cover 👌🏽
This is REALLY good.

Ride the night mare
ВЫ ОФИГИТЕЛЬНЫЕ!!!!!
Stellar
best version ever!
After Metallica
@@user-xu9yf3yd3h buhahahaha
This has a great energy. After Budgie, definitely the best version. And better than the way Budgie played it in their later years.
I feel like ties with Metallica's for me.
Awesome!
nice cover
Class cover

Great cover guy has a great voice maybe he could cover some Motorhead

Saludos bros, \m/
fucking best Breadfan version EVER
Sounds damn good to me.. It does sound darker than the original BUDGIE and the METALLICA. But that's just my opinion. Good Day!
Fucking best cover ever.
