I absolutely love this song. I love all of Fowlis's work, but there's something about this song that is breathtaking in how it starts off slow and soft and ends up getting very exhilarating towards the end-something like flying, I would imagine. Fantastic!
Saw Julie last night in concert in London, for the 3rd time, i only "discovered " her at a Spell Songs concert just over 2 years ago, but im captivated by her music and singing, despite the fact i only know one word of Gaelic (Alba-Scotland), that doesnt matter. Its terrific, easy listening music and makes me yearn to move to my ancestral homeland of Scotland. What a wonderful talent she is, backed by her husband, Eamonn (on the bouzouki) Duncan (on the fiddle) and a guitarist (apologies, i cant recall his name). Cant wait until Julie's next concert.
Julie, first second i heard your voice, that was it, im a fan, a singer songwriter myslf, and i was in love with purity and sincerity in it, and its yours uniquely, dudnt even need to see your picture, alterum is my favorite album so far… every song, is good ….most are great…. Thank you for your presence, and i thank whatever the world found you. Sincerely, Beau C Ryan (music) & Secret songs on fb if you care to hear, just wishing to trade art, not looking fir favors or nothing, just wish to repay you somehow, PS gaelic is a hard language wish there was english translations, word for word, and or, a pronunciation key, lol thank you
Maybe this is weird, but I’m autistic and I’ve started stimming to this song every day, rocking back and forth flapping my hands, or spinning around and dancing, or other stuff like that. It’s really great for that.
That's not weird in the slightest! This is absolutely such a stimulating song. ☺️ (Many of Fowlis's songs are like this, to be honest. They're lovely.)

The one thing I find so striking about this song is the way starts off and begins to chug, going ever faster and faster, like an old steam locomotive.
Incredible

@@jj_the_ent I believe she sings in Scots Gailiege
@@karenvarian1174 it’s Scottish Gaelic, or Gàidhlig. Tha mi Gàidhlig mòr agad, agus tha i cànan brèagha. It’s a beautiful language.
