Despite everything he's gone through, I'd say yes. Hughie is definitely going to end up being important in saving the entire world from Homelander and Vought. The incident with A-Train forced Hughie to grow as a person. Funny enough, dealing with Hughie has forced A-Train to grow as a person too.
The biggest change for Hughie was that he became more independent and turned into a fighter. Before his involvement with The Boys, Hughie was kind of a lame uninspired guy coasting on his girlfriend and dad, no aspirations or fight in him. A-Train killing robin turned him into the warrior he is now.
Prayers for A-Train, bro is not gonna last much longer. I feel like since he is good now, he won't be able to stay away from The Seven, and I think he's going to help The Boys one last time in the last episode and get killed for it. Cuz what the heck would be the point of his redemption arc if he's just gonna run away like a pussy?
Omg my coworkers and I was talking about this. I feel his time is coming quick. He was insensitive at the beginning of the series and now he’s done a 180. I hope he goes out like a G 😭

Bro also I'm just remembering a fan made Season of The Boys I messed around with making, I remember I had like some supe he could siphon powers off supes, but to do it he'd have to like cannibalize them. "So we're going to use this wAll" lmao But the boys hughie a lot of character development that he needed. Regardless of his prior jon he was able to move up in the world. He become calmer less anxious and even less hateful in season 4. So I think his life gas only improved.
Its gonna get worse (the comics ending as reference). Sure it will be the good ending, but do not mistake this as me saying he'll live happily ever after. He'll move on, but he's gonna experience the ultimate tragedy in season 5

Uhhhh honestly that's a question that we'd have to wait for the end of the series to say. Like we've seen the highs and the lows, but we won't know till it ends

Without Hughie losing Robin, Homelander won't have gone this rogue or out of control, cause Butcher won't have gone close to the Seven and wouldn't have recruited the boys had he not kidnapped Translucent and killed him.
