Tribute to Marcel Jacob - 1964 - 2009

Here is a commemorative video tribute to our brother Marcel Jacob, founder and main writer for the band Talisman which included Jeff Scott Soto, Jamie Borger, Fredrik Akesson, Jakob Samuelsson, & Pontus Norgren within its core origins.
Marcel made his professional name playing alongside with Yngwie Malmsteen (& Soto) in the original incarnation of Rising Force as well as John Norum's solo career when Norum left Europe shortly after the release of The Final Countdown. in 1989, Marcel went on his own, brought Soto into the picture and together they presented the world with Talisman.
Marcel took his own life on July 21, 2009, just days before Talisman would begin recording their 8th studio album. Upon his passing, the band asked good friend Gary Schutt, also a former bandmate of Jeff Scott Soto's as well as video editor for Talisman, to make this tribute for Marcel.

Thanks for uploading this! Talisman is one of my favorite bands ever and Marcel is in my opinion the best Swedish rock bass player ever. I had the privilege of being present at Talisman's gig at Mondo in Stockholm in 2003, which was also recorded on video. Thanks for all the great music you contributed!

Marcel was an AMAZING bass player, and a great guy! This video brought me memories of the concert you guys played with Talisman here in Brazil, in São Paulo. I was in the front row at that concert, and I can say it was one the best concerts I have seen in my whole life! After the show, I talked to Marcel for a while, and he was the sweetest guy, sweating buckets (it was REALLY hot that day!), and really happy to be in Brazil playing for the first time (as all of us there were happy to see him play). :D

Thank you for sharing this video it’s hard to hear bass players sometimes on their chops but to really hear him isolated like that was a treat to hear, he was really smoking I saw him with mom Steen I believe when they played down the green Oakland Coliseum and then came back to play opening up for AC/DC around two months later with you Jeff on vocals Puerto Rican pride brother
