To be honest it was this show that gave me this "joker in not jokable situations" behaviors. Now I do have more contorl over it so I don't make jokes about very severe topics but I am not super serious. Watched this show as a kid
I saw B99 before Psych so at first I couldn't help comparing the two.. Genius detective with ADHD symptoms, childish sense of humor, poor relationship with his father, really close best friend(s), love interest is a female detective, friends with a notorious criminal who tricks him and gets away every time, etc. So, I mistakenly expected it to feel like a sitcom, which it is not. It's apples and oranges. (Well, pineapples.)
