Hi Everyone, We hope you enjoyed our video! Which Fiberglass RV did you like?? Please say hello by leaving a comment below! Also, please feel free to ask any questions or just tell us about yourselves. We want to get to know you and share our RV experiences.
Do yall live full time in a Rv. I thought about Me and my Wife giving that a shot, by Living in Rv camping areas. I know nothing about Rv living or anything about RV's. I love this channel, I just joined
@@markr.2233 Hi EBG, I define full time RVing as selling your home and only living in an RV full time. We are very fortunate and we have a home base and we RV quite a bit so by my own definition we will never be full-time. If you have never RV'd before I suggest maybe renting an RV and trying it out before you sell your home and everything you own and jump in with both feet. I have written like 60 articles about how to rent an RV and various types of RV rentals that are available. Here's the link to our website if you want to check any of them out. rvblogger.com/category/rv-rental-info/ Hope it helps you out! Thanks for subscribing to the channel! Mike
Great video, it will help a lot of people decide what to look for. As for me I like the Escape best. Right now I'm doing a van conversion. 2018 ford transit mid roof. I like the idea of only having one vehicle. I do have a motorcycle, but can keep it on a rack .
@@jamey48 Hi jamey, My daughter wants to do a van conversion too! It's way more expensive to do than the RUclips videos would suggest but she is investigating it. Keep us posted on your progress and good luck with it! Mike

I love the Bigfoot! My favorite thing about it is the walk-around bed and I like dry baths better than wet baths. I wish we could have seen the dry bath a bit better and I would have liked to have seen in the closet. He mentioned the option of 2 more feet. Do you know what difference the 2 extra feet would have done? Also, do you know approximately how much and where one could be purchased? Thank you!

I have a pretty short Fifth wheel myself I have a 24 foot Sierra by Forest River Silver Eagle I totally love my Fifth wheel no flat roof either!!!Ceiling fan high ceilings really enjoy living this way its been 2 years now since my parents have passed,,,,,,
Sorry to hear of your parents passing. I know how hard that can be. I sincerely hope you are enjoying your lifestyle!👍🎉👍 I watch these videos and dream. I wanted to travel this way when I retired. Unfortunately in my late 30s I got I’ll with CFS/FMS or ME/CFS. It basically takes your energy without warning and comes with full body pain. I would still do this if I knew I wouldn’t strand myself.😬 I wish I had one of my friends who would like to partner up and travel North America. Although they either have big families or their health is not good either. I will just keep praying for a miracle.🙏🏻🥺🙏🏻 I sincerely am wishing you the best in your adventures!👍🌼🙏🏻
Great to find this after looking through your videos and finding no references to molded fiberglass trailers. Good job! I think the Escape 5.0 is my favorite of these, but it obviously requires a pickup truck, and I’m pretty sure I want to stay with an SUV for the tow vehicle. Scamp also makes a 5th wheel, by the way.

Great video as always! I really like all these little fiberglass trailers. Just wish they weren't so expensive! And as a potential used buyer, they hold their values way too well!! Due to our budget we ended up buying a traditional trailer but these are still on the lust list for future upgrades.

Wow, a 21-ft fifth wheel. I'd buy a pickup just to get one of those but with gas prices skyrocketing every month since Joe Blow stole office, that's probably never going to happen.

Well I don't know if 25 foot is still a SMALL trailer! :D Really nice though. But that looks like one of those queen "short" beds they make for trailers. I got one of those mattresses and threw it out so my feet wouldn't always be hanging over the edge of the bed. Extended the shelf it was resting on by getting a bigger plywood sheet, then got a nice foam mattress and topper. 74 inches is only two inches above 6 feet, so if you're very tall at all, move around even a little, or just want to have space for a pillow instead of ramming your head into the wall behind the bed, you need more sleeping space. Still, gorgeous trailer though. Also: I was surprised nobody had solar.

No leaf blowers! If I fired up a leaf blower people would be throwing empty cans and squirt me with a hose. I use a Moerman extension window cleaning pole with the soft squeegee on the end, we always have our short ladder with us. Our home Membership campground does not allow them at all now. Gotta respect people getting away from town to peace and quiet to have a blower going while camping Electric or gas. No blowers please!

Hi Randy, Yeah - we tried something different in this video and we got blasted for taking 4 minutes to get to the trailers...Ugh! But we appreciate the feedback so we don't make that mistake again. Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
Hi Candycane. They are more expensive than traditional travel trailers because they don't get roof leaks, they last a long time, they are super lightweight and they hold their resale values. Hi Just Looking, Glad you like them! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan GET READY! We are launching our new digital/video magazine called RV Camping Magazine on June 1st! Stay tuned for our RUclips Video all about it!
Personally I love the look of the Escape, and the Big Foot. Both of them just look like something from the 80s or 90s to me for some reason. I have to wonder if the Escape would be able to be towed by a dually, or does the pin box sit back too far to clear the DRW fenders.
@RVBlogger 😆 if there is I can't find it. Also why do RV trailers use a different wire color arrangement for 7 pin round connector compared to utility trailers and such use for their 7 pins?
The largest one is the best. The dry bath, the larger refrigerator, the twin beds, the dining area when u enter n the BR near the bed. TY much for the tour!
Hi flight2k5, Thanks for the feedback. We tried a little something different in this video and most people really liked it and others just want to get to the point. Unfortunately, you didn’t get the “Rolls Royce” of fiberglass campers, The Oliver. If you are in the market for a fiberglass camper and you want the best quality rig you can get nothing beats an Oliver. Nothing.
Hey Brad, We appreciate the info. What do you like about The Oliver? Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤ Mike and Susan BTW, let us know what you think of RV Camping Magazine, our free digital and video magazine! rvblogger.com/rv-camping-magazine/
@@RVBlogger I think the Oliver is no question the best towable money can buy. The quality, the customer service is unmatched in the RV industry. They keep there value, people who purchased 5 years ago can sell for what they paid or more. There is no comparison with anything else out there. Go on a tour of the plant, in Hohenwald Tn. you’ll be amazed.
@@bradarmstrong7467 yeah we were hoping to tour an Oliver at the Fiverglass RV show but there wasn’t one there. And you won’t find them in any RV dealerships. But we will find and your one some day. Thanks for your input and thanks for watching! Mike
If you want, I live in eastern Tn just East of Gatlinburg contact me and I’ll be happy to show you mine, or you can go to the Oliver Rally at Guntersville state park Rv park at Lake Guntersville Alabama next May.
Hey DAM, The f250 was overkill. An f150 can tow between 5,000 and 11,300 depending on the options you choose. So it's enough to handle the 7500 GVWR of the Bigfoot in the video. Thank you for this video on fiberglass RVs @RVBlogger. It's too bad more people don't choose to use a broom; they are less expensive in several ways, make no noise and sweeping is good exercise. Leaf blowers are so loud, seem disrespectful of campsite neighbors, exponentially spread more dust and allergens and are generally so loud they disturb the peace and quiet of nature. Seems like the antithesis of spending time outdoors in nature. I enjoy your videos very much, @RVBlogger, including this one - however, I think leaf blowers (like really loud generators, etc.) are not a very good idea for RVing or camping.🙂
So interesting! This is the first review of a variety of fiberglass campers I have seen in 3 yrs of watching RV reviews. I love actually seeing how people live in them with their mods. Thank you!!

We bought an Escape 5.0TA in 2017. It was a nightmare...the windows leaked causing mold throughout the trailer, the awning never worked properly and the owners could have cared less. So, fiberglass travel trailers can and do leak at least the one we had leaked. POC
Hi Carey, They do leak as we mention in the video but they are less likely to have roof leaks. I have heard very few people ever complain about their Fiberglass RV. Thanks for sharing your experience. Mike

Sorry we didn't include that information. We include the GVWR of each RV so as long as your tow vehicle can handle that weight you should be good. Thanks for watching and commenting George!
We've pulled our 2006 Casita Freedom Deluxe with several V6 vehicles. Also with a single cab 2013 F150 with the 5 liter V8. All these tow vehicles were 4 x 4, a useful thing on rare occasions. 2003 Explore with 4.0 liter V6 and 4 speed automatic: I give this package a B. Two things kept it from a solid A. 1) With only 4 gears it would be winding hard in 2nd on step inclines. 2) The breaking power was just adequate. We used this rig to tow for many years. (Note: I felt it needed weight distribution hitch and anti sway bar and I got tired of messing with all that.) 2008 Dodge Dakota 3.7 liter V6 and 4 speed auto. I give this package a C-. The truck itself was a perfect size but it was underpowered. A V8 or more gears would have helped a lot. I still used the weight distribution hitch but probably did not really need it. 2013 F150 single cab, 4x4 with the 6 speed auto. This was a solid A+ tow rig for this trailer. I sold the F150 to my son because he needed it. I did not need distribution hitch nor sway bar. 2022 Honda Ridgeline with the 9 speed automatic. This rig gets an A. The 3.5 liter V6 makes more power than our other V6 rigs did and the extra gears are very helpful too. I do not use the weight distribution hitch or anti sway bar and have no problems. Could use more powerful brakes... All these vehicles were adequate. The F150 was superior. The Ridgeline is very good. Where did F150 shine? The way the transmission handles the downhills in tow mode, the stronger brakes. The power to accelerate when pressed by traffic, especially going uphill. Also, being a single cab F150 the turn radius is exceptional. Best of all these combos. Best visibility too. On occasion, the capacity to drop into 4X4 low really helped when backing trailer into a spot with an incline. The only drawback on the F150 4X4 was it's so high off the ground. Hard to get in and out and had to climb into bed to get things out. The Ridgeline does a really good job too. I do miss that low range gearing in reverse though.😮😮

I really enjoyed this video. My plan was to travel North America once I retired. Unfortunately, my body had different plans. I ended up getting severe CFS and whatever alphabet soup they call it now. No one’s even looking into trying to cure it.💔 It leaves you completely exhausted with full body pain. Plus, it gives you some other symptoms that are no fun. All I do now is watch these videos and dream .🙏🏻🥺💔

i dont get that whole camp ground idea, u leave ur nice and quiet house to live in a box next to 100 other campers like you......makes no sense....park it off grid without people around and suddenly it is CAMPING

Hi Mildred! You must have a thing for Canadians! lol! They are both manufactured in Canada! As always - thanks for watching our videos! We really appreciate you. Mike and Susan
Mike & Susan, you've done a really nice job highlighting molded fiberglass RV's. My wife and I are currently proud owners of a 1994 Bigfoot fifth wheel. The 1994 was the last year Bigfoot manufactured the fifth wheel and we were fortunate to find one. Our previous trailers included a 1989 Bigfoot fifth wheel, a 1984 Bigfoot fifth wheel and a 1989 17' Bigfoot. Yes we love the Bigfoot line. If your travels take you to the west coast, check out some of the Oregon gatherings. Living in the "Pacific North Wet" molded fiberglass trailers are fantastic.

Good old Hungry Mother SP!! 💗 I love that place. I started going there in 1985 when I was a geology student at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. There was a turnout just down the road that we referred to as Dirty Diaper - lots of folks seemed to miss the dumpster. 😹. I really liked that Escape 5th wheel, in part, because it has dual axles.

I was there off season. (Only one other camper) I loved it. The beauty and peacefulness is almost eerie . I would spend a month or two again that time of the year if you could stay more than two weeks without vacating the site.

I like the idea of a fiberglass trailer. The two things that would keep us from getting one. No comfortable place to set. I can take a dinette for about an hour. No walk around beds. I know the Bigfoot had one but it’s the exception. Nice video thanks for doing this.

What an improvement to the Scamp interior! I love Scamps and I’ve wanted one ever since the mid-70s, but the interior is basically unchanged and very very cheap and tacky looking. (Why haven’t I gotten one since I’ve wanted one for so long? My husband‘s too tall for them - maybe their mini fifth wheel would be OK, but we don’t want a pickup truck..)

Good video Mike. What are good websites to view fiberglass rv trailers for sale? Looked at many sites and links that are old ads, been sold, etc. Thanks for any input on this. Eddie San Diego.
Hi Eddie, RVTrader.com is always a good place to check. You could also check out this Facebook Group called Fiberglass RVs for Sale or Trade at facebook.com/groups/477650053044512 Every now and then you will find one on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. And finally Google "Fiberglass RV Rally" to find some forums you can join which could lead to a sale... Hope all of that helps! Fiberglass RVs for Sale or Trade
Wow! Sure wish there were more over 23 ft fiberglass 5th Wheels out there. For solo campers the east/west bed configuration works better for more closet/storage space. Also prefer _real_ dry baths over wet baths trying to be dry baths. A camper does need a bit more footage for that.

Hi Sheryl, We agree. In fact we think you have to have a great relationship with your partner to RV in any size rig. Great point and thanks for your comment! Mike
That is a great question to which we are not sure of the answer 🤣 Could be to keep construction cost down, maybe because they are made from a mold. There are some manufacturers that are expanding their lineup to larger floor plans, like Oliver RV 23'6" Bigfoot RV 25'6". Thank you for watching our Fiberglass tour video and commenting.

Thanks for adding this video link to your Airstream video. I've been thinking about fulltime RVing when I retire in 3-4 yrs. I'm 63. The Airstream seemed like the only way to go because of the craftmanship, but for over $100k for a used one, I'd have to continue working until I'm 70 to save that kind of money for it. So this video gives me hope that a fiberglass RV will be almost as good, and I can still retire in 3-4 years to afford one. Thanks again! I like that BigFoot alot!
Hi Beware the Lion, Glad it was helpful! If we were going to buy a trailer we would go with a fiberglass camper. And that Bigfoot was gorgeous! Good luck preparing for retirement! Keep us posted if you buy a camper! Thanks for watching and commenting! Mike and Susan
I tore down an Airstream that been been wrecked. They had used steel carriage bolts to secure the bottom wall plates to the floor, and dissimilar metal corrosion was well on it's way. Minimal insulation, you couldn't give me one!
We bought a brand new 13' Scamp in 1977 for $1300. Our family of four enjoyed it for 30 years and then we sold it for $1000. ($10 per year depreciation!)

Do yall live full time in a Rv.
I thought about Me and my Wife giving that a shot, by Living in Rv camping areas. I know nothing about Rv living or anything about RV's. I love this channel, I just joined
@@markr.2233 Hi EBG,
I define full time RVing as selling your home and only living in an RV full time.

Great video, it will help a lot of people decide what to look for. As for me I like the Escape best. Right now I'm doing a van conversion. 2018 ford transit mid roof. I like the idea of only having one vehicle. I do have a motorcycle, but can keep it on a rack .

Thank you!

I watch these videos and dream. I wanted to travel this way when I retired. Unfortunately in my late 30s I got I’ll with CFS/FMS or ME/CFS. It basically takes your energy without warning and comes with full body pain. I would still do this if I knew I wouldn’t strand myself.😬
I wish I had one of my friends who would like to partner up and travel North America. Although they either have big families or their health is not good either.
I will just keep praying for a miracle.🙏🏻🥺🙏🏻

Great to find this after looking through your videos and finding no references to molded fiberglass trailers. Good job! I think the Escape 5.0 is my favorite of these, but it obviously requires a pickup truck, and I’m pretty sure I want to stay with an SUV for the tow vehicle. Scamp also makes a 5th wheel, by the way.

Hi D S,
Small is relative I guess. But that Bigfoot sure felt bigger than a 25' trailer!

No leaf blowers! If I fired up a leaf blower people would be throwing empty cans and squirt me with a hose. I use a Moerman extension window cleaning pole with the soft squeegee on the end, we always have our short ladder with us.
Our home Membership campground does not allow them at all now.
Gotta respect people getting away from town to peace and quiet to have a blower going while camping

Didn't hear any blowers. Smallest trailers seem overpriced, but I guess if they are less of a hassle then that's worth it.

Personally I love the look of the Escape, and the Big Foot. Both of them just look like something from the 80s or 90s to me for some reason. I have to wonder if the Escape would be able to be towed by a dually, or does the pin box sit back too far to clear the DRW fenders.
Wow! That's a great question about the Escape! I'm sure there's information on their website that could help. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Was that F250 towing the Bigfoot overkill or is it that heavy?
Hey DAM,
The f250 was overkill.

We were a bit suprised as well but we are seeing more leaf blowers as we travel. Thank you for all your support, watching and commenting.

We bought an Escape 5.0TA in 2017. It was a nightmare...the windows leaked causing mold throughout the trailer, the awning never worked properly and the owners could have cared less. So, fiberglass travel trailers can and do leak at least the one we had leaked. POC

They do leak as we mention in the video but they are less likely to have roof leaks.

Would be nice to ask what vehicle they use to pull the trailer, i.e., Ford 150 or ?
(Note: I felt it needed weight distribution hitch and anti sway bar and I got tired of messing with all that.)
2008 Dodge Dakota 3.7 liter V6 and 4 speed auto.
That gooseneck Escape is by far the best design, I think anyway.
Hey Johnny,
Great choice!

I'm so sorry to hear about your current health. We hope you are able to find some kind of relief soon! 🙏❤️
❤ thank you both Mike & Susan ( my name as well Sue ❤) for doing these fiberglass campers otherwise we all would have to drive/ fly around the USA/Canada so thank you for saving us money. These are the only rvs people can trust ( that's why they are not at the rvs dealerships ) again thanks to both of you we are finally going to get or order ( we know about the wait well worth it) ❤ ✌
Hi Sue,
Glad you liked the video and we are sure your fiberglass trailer will be well worth the wait! Which one did you order? Keep us posted on your adventures when you get it!

Hi Storytelling in Motion
The Bigfoot was pretty sweet!

10:50 Andy’s Big Foot. TO ME this is hands down with out a doubt the nicest trailer/home I’ve ever seen on RUclips.
Hi Robert,
We fell in love with that camper! If we ever buy a travel trailer that is the one we would buy...

Wow, that Bigfoot is amazing but id love an Escape. We currently like our scamp.
We were pretty WOWed by the Bigfoot too. The Escape 5th wheel is a great floor plan, a nice separation of living space and bedroom. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.
i dont get that whole camp ground idea, u leave ur nice and quiet house to live in a box next to 100 other campers like you......makes no sense....park it off grid without people around and suddenly it is CAMPING
Hey Charlie,
We understand the appeal of going off grid and getting away from everything, but also going to a campground that may be better suited for children, newbies, glampers, etc. :)

That Bigfoot 25RQ is hard to beat all around. It's close to being the perfect couples camper. But all of these are very well made.

Seems like a great way to go. Lightweight and for the most part waterproof. A leaky roof is probably what scares me most about our Class C motorhome.
Hi Al,
our Class C had a leaky roof and we had to finally replace it...
We did a video about it if you wanna see the process of how we replaced our roof. It is leakproof and pretty indestructible!
The open is goofy so please overlook that! lol!

Loved the ,,escape,, and the ,,Bigfoot ,,
Hi Mildred!
You must have a thing for Canadians! lol!
They are both manufactured in Canada!
As always - thanks for watching our videos! We really appreciate you.

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for the kind words and next time we are in the Pacific North West we will do that!

If you plan on buying a fiberglass camper, better bring your checkbook. They are not cheap!
Hi Mike,
They are more expensive than standard trailers but in my opinion well worth the price.

HMSP was a great little park! We really enjoyed it and all the great people we met at the Rally.
The escape was really nice.

I was there off season. (Only one other camper) I loved it. The beauty and peacefulness is almost eerie . I would spend a month or two again that time of the year if you could stay more than two weeks without vacating the site.
Mike and Susan, you're the best. Always informative, concise content. Stay safe out there!

Hi Trish,
It would be tough to camp in a Scamp if you are tall...

Good video Mike. What are good websites to view fiberglass rv trailers for sale? Looked at many sites and links that are old ads, been sold, etc. Thanks for any input on this.
Eddie San Diego.
Hi Eddie,
RVTrader.com is always a good place to check. You could also check out this Facebook Group called Fiberglass RVs for Sale or Trade at
facebook.com/groups/477650053044512
Every now and then you will find one on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.
And finally Google "Fiberglass RV Rally" to find some forums you can join which could lead to a sale...
Hope all of that helps!

Wow! Sure wish there were more over 23 ft fiberglass 5th Wheels out there. For solo campers the east/west bed configuration works better for more closet/storage space. Also prefer _real_ dry baths over wet baths trying to be dry baths. A camper does need a bit more footage for that.

You really have to get along well with your partner with camping in anything this small.
Hi Sheryl, We agree. In fact we think you have to have a great relationship with your partner to RV in any size rig. Great point and thanks for your comment!
Mike
Is there a reason why all the fiberglass RVs are so small? Do they become unstable if they're 28 or 30 feet?
That is a great question to which we are not sure of the answer 🤣 Could be to keep construction cost down, maybe because they are made from a mold. There are some manufacturers that are expanding their lineup to larger floor plans, like Oliver RV 23'6" Bigfoot RV 25'6". Thank you for watching our Fiberglass tour video and commenting.
That is exactly what I need. A fiberglass trailor. My truck wouldnt have any issues pulling one. I love how they all look.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Beware the Lion,
Glad it was helpful! If we were going to buy a trailer we would go with a fiberglass camper. And that Bigfoot was gorgeous! Good luck preparing for retirement! Keep us posted if you buy a camper!

I tore down an Airstream that been been wrecked. They had used steel carriage bolts to secure the bottom wall plates to the floor, and dissimilar metal corrosion was well on it's way. Minimal insulation, you couldn't give me one!
@@portnuefflyer - Wow. No kidding! Thanks for the tip.
We bought a brand new 13' Scamp in 1977 for $1300. Our family of four enjoyed it for 30 years and then we sold it for $1000. ($10 per year depreciation!)
