Holy crap. I lent my cousin New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.. and when I tried to ask for them back.. she said she didn't remember even borrowing them -_- So.. I had to re-buy them. Thank God for Strand. I grabbed them for like $2 each. Maybe it's something with the Twilight series lmaoo - Briana
THIS VIDEO IS SO EXCELLENT. LOLOLOLOL i stopped lending books out.... in 5th grade when i lent my cousin Ronald Dahls THE WITCHES witch was my favorite non harry potter book in the whole wide world AND I NEVER GOT IT BACK.
Bah. I lent The Twits to someone, and the only reason I got it back was because I got to look through a box of stuff being given to a thrift store... yeahhh... my head almost exploded.
I have this issue too. I tell everyone beforehand that I charge for damages towards the book. 1. Every ripped page is one dollar. 2. Each scratch, bend, or rips in the cover is two. 3. Every dog ear I find is fifty cents. 4. Damages to the binding are two dollars. 5. Food smears, pencil marks, or any of the sort are three dollars. They usually give the book back to me, mumbling how they'll borrow it from someone else.
If you're not willing to go to the library to check out a book that you want to read, you obviously don't want to read the book enough. My books are NOT for your convenience.
I remember this one time, my friend wanted to borrow not one but 7 of my comic books. I was like 10 and those copies were from 1970-80 so they were precious yet I still got only 3 of them back. Now I have my own library marks were I stick them on my book saying my name, details and due date... I even stamp them.
God me too. I seriously do that. Good to know I'm not alone. Plus, I am constantly reminding them if they are finished with the books or like if they're not gonna read it to give it back to me either right then and there or the next day.
My friend borrowed my first and third percy jackson books...when i lent them to her they were in mint condition...when i got them back the first book's cover was ripped, torn, and bent, and the third book's cover was ripped, torn, bent, and had a pink marker stain on it...she told me she dropped it on the floor...WHAT FLOOR!?!?
That is a crime punishable by a few good years listening to the Olympians fight and Zues's big ego. An alternative is going to Azkaban, talking to Demeter about farming, hanging out with Mr D, really, the list goes on and on
I'm ridiculously paranoid about lending out books so half the time I just tell them to go to the library. Even with family members I'm like, "Okay..you can read it BUT RUIN IT AND YOU'RE BUYING ME ANOTHER ONE"
YOU KNOW. I was crying and having a really freaking bad day, but I came home, saw this in my subscriptions and watched it, and it made me laugh so hard. Thanks for making my day not suck so much.
I understand you. I'm kinda obsessed with my books and don't even like people coming close to it. When i lend some (wich is once in never) it's under the condition of returning me in at least five days. If the person do not read it, i go to their house and take it back. Rules are rules.
I'm in the same boat. I hate lending out books. I don't own any of my favorite books anymore because I've lent them out and never got them back. Never again.
I remembered lending my mom a book I hadn't even read, and it got chewed by the dog. I kind of lost it, mainly because she couldn't understand why I would be so upset. I eventually got an apology, but I was over it by then. And more recently someone borrowed a book that I've had since I was like 8 years old. I had to ask over and over again to get it back. This book means a lot to me, if it didn't I wouldn't have kept it for over 20 years. I got it back.
This is awesome. And this is the reason I only lend books to my mom. One of my friends in high school borrowed Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants series and I never got them back. O_O Yep. If I let people borrow books, they have to be awesome book people like booktubers or book bloggers who appreciate books as much as i do.
I have a signed copy of Legend series, and then one of my friends borrowed it without telling me. After like a month, he gave it back with the dust jacket missing, the signed page gone, it has a gum sticked to it, and I'm missing the page 108. You know what I did to him? I slapped the book through his face hard the side of his lips almost bleed. But he replaced it signed. After he replaced the book, I never lend my books to other, except my parents, because they're cool with it.
Oh my God, this like happens to me A LOT! And I know how hard it is to say no and when they walk away with my books I'll be like poking daggers at them in my head, saying "You better take care of those books!"
OMG SO TRUE !!! I only read the books I brought. And NO ONE , not even my big sister or brother COULD TOUCH IT !!! And my OWN book shelf literally have this note saying " if you mess with my books ? I'll mess with you . 😉"
Oh my God you just summed up all of my feelings about lending books! I don't even lend them to my dad who lives in the same house because the way he holds them puts pressure on the spine which leads to it breaking, which happened to my beautiful illustrated copy of The Hobbit :C (and half of the pages of my sister's copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone FELL OUT because he bent the cover right around and pulled the binding apart). Whenever I see him holding it wrong I tell him but then he gets annoyed because he thinks he IS holding it carefully and I can't tell him how to hold it properly because I don't know how to teach people to do it because I just automatically do it. So now I only let him borrow books that are hardcover (but I don't let him have the jackets) or ones that are already old or have been accidentally damaged by me (I'm very careful, but sometimes things get dropped). I love him but I do not trust him with my books XD I'm also really anal about the time they've been out of my possession. Longer than two weeks and I get really antsy about having them back, but then on the same hand I borrow books from people and then get distracted by my own books and never end up reading them D: Although if I know I'm not going to read it for a long time I always give it back and say 'I have a lot of other things to read, but when I have time and if it's okay I'll borrow it again.' Wow. This is a really long comment. Sorry about that! Tl;dr - I am with you 100% for everything you said in this video.
When I loan a book to someone and that person asks if they can give it their friend for a while I just lie and say that I have someone else waiting on the book. LYING IS THE ONLY WAY OUT
Every time someone borrows me a book, I immediately feel an intense pressure to return it as soon as possible and to check all the possible imperfections it may have just to make sure that they weren't there because of me, yeah, it's really stressful to have a borrowed book but also I think it's something really nice to do with your friends (to borrow each others books) Great vid, you have a new subscriber!
So know what you mean. I either do NOT get them back, or they get returned with pages missing, creased cover, etc. It even happens when I lend my books to my sisters.
I only somewhat mind lending out books. It's great when I get more people to read a book I love, like for instance, this past school year I lent out my copy of The Fault In Our Stars to about 5 different people (it was agonizing not having it). The one thing that I don't like though is how long it takes people to read the books, because I read my books super fast, so it's always weird for me when I ask someone if they're reading a book after about a couple of days and they aren't done with it....oh the struggles...
Omg, the thing you said about lending out books, and it felt like giving away our baby, that is so me. I can not even lend my books out any more cause no one seems to understand the value of them. Thank you for making this video!
EXACTLY! For the same reason, I usually refuse to do the borrowing myself because I know how touchy I am about my books. I'll just opt to get it from the library or buy it for myself instead.
I always remind my friends to return my books, but they never seem to listen. They even pass on the books to others who wanted to borrow without telling me. By the time I finally catch up to the person who has a book, it'll almost always be damaged. There was even this time when somebody borrowed 3 comic books of 6 volumes - 1 of them was an omnibus of 3 volumes, another an omnibus of 2, and I only got the latter back. I asked around but nobody would tell. Just because I'm no big collector doesn't mean I care about the books I own any less. I lend people my books because I know stories should be shared. But I am still the owner and my books are precious to me. I just wish they would respect that.
Hey, I'm from Italy and love all of your videos! And by the way... you just described what i feel when someone asks me to lend my books. Please continue your videos you have my full support!!!
''Do I need to give you a bookmark too?!'' HAHA! You're the best. I never lend out books, learned my lesson by now. As soon as someone just starts talking about my books I say don't even ask about borrowing one. It's just too stressful. Great video! : ]
I feel you. My hardbound copy of the Last Olympian is apparently in oblivion because the person I lent it to lost it. I just can't... All those times and feels I had while reading that very book were now gone. And the issue here is that it's a Percy Jackson hardbound book. It's precious and expensive. Other than that, the rest of the PJO series are with me, but they're destroyed. The Battle of the Labyrinth cover was taped. The spines had lines. The pages were sticking out. I just can't help but mourn over all of them, my first ever series. I could feel my heart shattering every time I see them on my shelf. I plan to save for PJO books, but I do not know where to get the original covers because let's face it, original covers are still the best no matter how many covers they make. So tragic.
I'm with you on that. Reason why I don't lend out my books unless there already a little wrecked. My friends know me well enough to know not to take take it personally when I say no. My book shelf is already wayy to small for my liking people, and I do NOT want to loose my books
Oh my god, literally the biggest problem for me right now. I have 4 books that I lend out last year, LAST YEAR, and they havnt been returned. I always ask, "hey so what page are you on" and usually they say ""oh I just need 10 more pages". BUT HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO READ 10 PAGES . I'm sorry I'm calm now. I loved this video(: I couldn't stop laughing, I feel your pain
The beginning was so funny! But YES! I understand you. I do not like lending out books because one day they are in perfect condition, then someone borrows it, and THEN it comes back like if it were 200 years old! That happenes to me, especially when they are paperbacks!
Great video. I've learned to say no to many people for all the reasons you mentioned! There's only a handful of people I lend books to now, and even that feels like giving away a part of me!
Yes, so much yes! I sometimes feel bad because, y'know, they're my friends! But when my books come back all mangled... it legitimately makes me want to cry. A big example is the spines being broken... I don't go out of my way not to break them, I just never have, and I'm not entirely sure how you do it either! I actually went to my friend in tears (she lent me a book) because pages started falling out! She laughed because it was incredibly old and already doing that, but... if I feel that way about someone else's property, why don't they feel the same about mine!?! Anyway, new subscriber! Lol!
Love this!! It's so close to home I had to laugh so much or I'd be crying! I'm trying to stop lending because I'm fed up buying replacements for abductees or getting something unrecognisable back. One friend was forgiven though as she bought me a replacement when she dropped my book in the bath. She knew me too well :-)
Oh my god I feel the same! but I own only 8 books or so.. I bought Divergent the other day, but I was in a middle of another book, so I gave it to my best friend to read, and it got back with signs on the cover and just argggg...
I totally agree! I have gotten books back that looked like they took a swim and then fell off a cliff. Now I don't lend unless they are close family because they know how psycho ummm careful I am about my books or if I know they are just as careful. I also hand them a bookmark with the book so no excuse for bended corners.
"Wow you have a lot of books." "Yeah, it's kinda my thing." This is me all the time, and it's also similar when saying how many books I read each year :P
I let a couple of friends read my TFIOS book (which was an exclusive editor's edition that my parents got me, so it had one of those really pretty silver covers) before I read it, and when I got it back, THE COVER WAS RIPPED AND PEELING. I took off the the cover because I'm afraid that it would be damaged even more. Plus, I didn't get it back for almost two months. And that's why I don't lend out books.
Thank you for making this video! I feel your pain... I refuse to loan books anymore because every single time I have, people just DO NOT give them back. Not just books either; it applies to CDs, movies or anything I let people borrow. it's so annoying because it seems to have become some kind of unspoken rule that when people borrow something, they're implying that have no intention of giving it back.
i do like lending out books, but i normally only tend to with people that i know will finish it quickly.. i lent city of glass to my friend about six months ago and she said it got badly water damaged (as in totally unreadable) and that she would buy another one. yup still not got that one back
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND. I have the same problem! I lent out my copy of The Journey by Kathryn Lasky about a year ago. I keep asking for it. I STILL DON'T HAVE IT AND IT'S FRUSTRATING AND I MISS IT!
OMG! This is my new favorite video!! I lent my 1st four Harry Potter books to an older cousin when I was 13ish and I never got them back when they meant the world to me! So this created quite a lending book trauma for me...So now I buy 90% of my books in English when I'm actually French so that I won't have to lend them to people...or so I thought, because now they're like "Omg you read in English! Can I try one of these?"
I know exactly how you feel!! I used to lend out my books but I don't anymore. I lent out one or two books to a friend (who I'm not friends with anymore) and it took her something like 6 months to give me the book back. She wasn't even going to give me the books back I don't think. I had to beg her for them back, and they were ripped and in bad condition too... So I just don't lend out my books anymore. Unless it's to a family member that I know I see often, they usually give me the books back as soon as they're done with them. I don't lend them out anymore because I have a thing where I like my books looking brand new, not beat up looking.
I love your book collection!!! I've read like all 8 of the 10 books you held in the video :) But, I understand your pain I'm going threw it right now. :(
I'm that naive idiot that lends people books, encourages them to keep it until they have read it, and _never_ see it again. I think it's a pretty good sign that if someone is too lazy/cheap to even go to the library that they are not all that invested in reading. Excellent video! Sadly, it is an excruciating reality.
lol...so true...and i got my insurgent exactly one year later because my friend went abroad with the book! GODS! it was terrible.....i was basicaly dying in my sleep everyday wondering where my poor, poor insurgent book is
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets paranoid when I have book "out." I keep track of them in Goodreads, but yeah. People bend spines :( I only lend to people who I know appreciate books like I do and who would be horrified to return a book in less than perfect condition.
I'm the same way! I don't know how to tell people no. Also I hate when my books come back smelling like someone else's house. I know that is probably really weird!
You sir have a very good point... Last few months were the first time that I lend out books, but I am actually NOT afraid to ask for them back and I tell them, 'damage the book and I will damage your face.' Ok, I only saw that to my closer friends but the my other friends that I'm nicer to, I just beg beg and beg them to take care of them and they tell me not to worry hahah
Time happens to me all the time I finally said enough is enough after one of my friends let her nephews get a hold of one of my books and when I got it back two months later it was ripped clean into (I had to tape it back together) and they drew all over the pages. My sister-in-law borrowed my hardback copy of MockyingJay two years ago and I still haven't seen it I finally broke down and bought another copy last week.
Excellent video. I stopped lending out my books in my junior year of high school. A friend asked to borrow a book and I lent it to her. The only reason I got it back (8 months later) was because I asked for it back. Then when I got it back, she'd only read half of it, the cover which had one small crease in the corner when I loaned it to her came back with scratches, more creases and a big bend in the corner. Pages were dog-eared and the spine was horrid. After that, never again.
Oh, yeah, been there. I've lost too many books and so now I only lend books to my mom and brother and sister-in-law. They know how I am about my books and they're respectful of it!
Oh, Gosh :)) that was awesome. And I am feeling so much better now that I realised I am not the only selfish reader. I react the exact same way as you do:))
Oh my God, never in the history of RUclips have I ever related to a video more. I have a friend who borrows 8-9 books at a time, and since we rarely meet, he keeps them for like a YEAR, sometimes longer. In fact, he sometimes loses them too. It is painful. Also, your TFIOS book broke my heart :'( I am so sorry that that happened to you, especially after it was signed :/
I completely agree! I lent my copy of the hunger games to 3 people and it came back as good as new, then I lent it to my brother and I found it 2 months later stuffed in the bottom of his bag...he hadn't even read it :(
This couldn't be more true. I hate lending out my books because they're always ruined or stollen but I just can't say no because I want someone to experience the book too. Ugh, the struggle is real
I am the exact same way! The only person that can borrow my books. Except I give her a rundown of book borrowing etiquette. My sister borrowed Eclipse and Breaking Dawn from me before my niece was born. My niece is gonna be 3 in January and I have yet to see those books.
Ha, ha! "GO HOME!" This was really funny at some parts but so so true! I also don't feel like lending books (especially to...strangers or not close friends) because of how they return them (really late or torn into pieces). I once had a book borrowed (one that I really loved) and the binding started to fall apart after I recieved it back! I was quite mad although I did not say it to that person. We need to learn to say "no" more often! C: PS: A friend of mine lent a whole series to someone and after a while they stopped talking due to some reasons and she lost her book series in this way. I think that we should lend books only to people that we trust.
Signed first edition of book lent out and the returned copy was not...friend lost it and thought to replace as if no one would notice that it was not the same book....
That's exactly why I don't lend out books anymore! I even tell new friends in advance so they know. I'm just very careful and picky with my books and I just can't imagine anyone else being the same. It just won't look as good anymore if someone else has read it as well
I loan out my books a lot, but just to people I know will take care of them. Once in high school I lent out some of my manga to someone I was a bit iffy about and he returned three of them with the backs completely water logged with not even so much as an apology. I cut him off right away and made him pay me for the books so I could buy new ones. But with my best friends I let them go grab books from my room in New York (I'm currently living in Northern Ireland) when ever they want. I left a notebook out so they just write down what they borrow and when they took it out and returned it so when I come to visit I can check on my books. They've all been very good to my things and I never have to worry.
Hahahah! Omigosh, this is me! And all of my friends. We all have books. We all go to each others houses, and when we see that one of us has a book that we don't own we beg to borrow it. The problem is--we're all book owners. So we hate giving our books out as we view them as our babies too! How do we fix this problem? I don't know. Drinks? Drinks and a book exchange? Either way, this too has happened to me and my friends! Thanks for sharing!
In june i lended Mrs Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children to my friend and she didnt finish it until the end of september every time ive been to her house she couldnt give it back because she needed it for an "english project"and every time she came to mine she forgot it and it is a new trimester now so i better get it back in perfect condition (her dog can be pretty vicious) otherwise imma flip out
i finally got it back and it wasn't terrible but it did have water stains on on the top corner of the pages and they were like fluffy and bent but that was the only thing wrong with it so it is sort of okay because since it isn't on the spine i can't see it when it is in my bookshelf
I've missed your quirky, sketch videos! Love this! I don't really talk to people (not often, anyways) about books, so I haven't had this experience. But yeah, lending out your stuff or letting others use your stuff is very difficult when you don't know how they'll treat them. LOL --> Les "Miserable"
I had a really great book I found at a Yard Sale and couldn't really believe I found. It was an Advanced Reader copy of Fairest by Gail Carson Levine. I lent it to someone who then lent it to someone else and I haven't seen it in 2...no...3 years...I'm serious, and it's one of my favorite books...
I am the same way with lending books which is why if I borrow books from people I try not to bend part of the book or dogear the pages (unless I see that the pages have already been dogeared by the owner) and I try to read the book quickly and not get any food on it. However sometimes I forget that the book I'm reading isn't mine. For example I am currently reading a book that I borrowed from my sister, during this video I turned to her and asked "Wait... is it okay if I dogear the pages?" Turns out it's not okay, she slapped a bookmark down in front of me and then gave me step by step instructions on how to use it.
yes, that's the problem I'm struggling with too. Right now I have 5 books away and even when I always lend books to people I can trust they will not completely destroy them and there will be no problem to get them back, I still worry. A couple of days ago I had this situation where my friend was giving me back The perks of being a wallflower, saying she loved it. A friend of hers who was with her asked "oh my gosh, is it yours? I wanted to read it since forever! Can I borrow it? I read really fast, like tomorrow you're gonna have it back".. and I was like "um.. yeah.. sure". The problem is, I barely know her and don't know how I'm gonna enforce her to return me my book, because I don't see her around. But on the other hand, I like lending books to my friends, it's like spreading the love, sharing the joy with them. Sometimes I'm like "you have to read this, it's freaking awesome, here, have it" and I make them read, even when they're not convinced at first.
I'm the same, except after I never got a book back from some elementary kid, but I don't like mine getting torn up. so I only let people let them read it at school-while I'm there unless I REALLY trust them. Even then . . . I don't trust them. Oh and I remembered someone had lent me a book (cause it wasn't a libriary and I made a trade by giving him a sheet of music) I never gave it to someone else or let them even touch it (one took it from me, but gave it back cause they wanted to look at it for a minute) but it was a manga which by the way unless they have a super good cover always the cover sticks up (why I hate paperback, besides that the covers also get ripped off) and I literally pressed the book down when I was done before giving it back cause I hate it when someone messes mine up even that far so I didn't do it to someone else, yea . . .
I loaned out my copies of Twilight and New Moon FIVE YEARS AGO AND NEVER GOT THEM BACK. I bought new copies. And I have a new rule--I will loan out ONE book per person at a time and the dust jacket stays with me. If the book is returned damaged, YOU ARE BANNED FROM THE LIBRARY OF KAT FOR LIFE. BTW, you are totally nailing these daily vlogs so far! Keep it up! :)
It's so frustrating! I've had to ban many people.
And thank you! :)
For me it was Eclipse and Breaking Dawn... also five years ago... never saw them again either :( Now I have an e-reader :P
Holy crap. I lent my cousin New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.. and when I tried to ask for them back.. she said she didn't remember even borrowing them -_- So.. I had to re-buy them. Thank God for Strand. I grabbed them for like $2 each. Maybe it's something with the Twilight series lmaoo

Same though
Katytastic I know right! PEOPLE THINK THEY DONT HAVE TO RETURN BOOKS RIGHT.

+Pjo Phangirl Where did you read this? He had norwegian heritage and was named after a norwegian guy called Roald Amundsen :)

OMG YOU ARE SMART.

THIS IS THE MOST RELATABLE VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN!
That intro... Priceless! Cannot stop laughing. 😄
Longer than two weeks and I get really antsy about having them back, but then on the same hand I borrow books from people and then get distracted by my own books and never end up reading them D: Although if I know I'm not going to read it for a long time I always give it back and say 'I have a lot of other things to read, but when I have time and if it's okay I'll borrow it again.'
Wow. This is a really long comment. Sorry about that!
Tl;dr - I am with you 100% for everything you said in this video.
When I loan a book to someone and that person asks if they can give it their friend for a while I just lie and say that I have someone else waiting on the book. LYING IS THE ONLY WAY OUT
Literally my favourite video on booktube ... don't ask how many times I've rewatched this
Every time someone borrows me a book, I immediately feel an intense pressure to return it as soon as possible and to check all the possible imperfections it may have just to make sure that they weren't there because of me, yeah, it's really stressful to have a borrowed book but also I think it's something really nice to do with your friends (to borrow each others books) Great vid, you have a new subscriber!
Lol . "I am not a library. And if I am, I'm not open for business."
Loved the video. I know exactly what you mean.
YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!! I'm happy I'm not the only one who feels like this!!!
So know what you mean. I either do NOT get them back, or they get returned with pages missing, creased cover, etc. It even happens when I lend my books to my sisters.
Finally someone understands me! Why haven't I heard of you before?! BTW love your Divergent posters!!
Also though, I never borrow books, I always lend them out,
THIS MAN SPEAKS TRUTH!!! I freaking love you for this! Thank You so much!!!!
Omg, the thing you said about lending out books, and it felt like giving away our baby, that is so me. I can not even lend my books out any more cause no one seems to understand the value of them. Thank you for making this video!
SAME. My mind will WORRY.
The beginning made me laugh so hard. I remember lending my aunt The Casual Vacancy and I haven't seen it in five months.
Lol!
I'm so glad I never had this problem, but I sympathize with you. I'm sorry for the pain your books had to go through.
Same thing happens to me!! I feel you!
"Wow you have a lot of books."
"Yeah, it's kinda my thing."
This is me all the time, and it's also similar when saying how many books I read each year :P
This video was great and super relatable! Loved it! :)
"Are these any good? No." I died laughing because it's completely true after the first three.
He said it. He put it to words.
the part pronouncing les miserables made my day, so many people always kept pronouncing it wrong in that way it is so true
All of us in the BookTube community feel your pain. Loved this video! I laughed so hard!
Thank you! :)
i do like lending out books, but i normally only tend to with people that i know will finish it quickly..
i lent city of glass to my friend about six months ago and she said it got badly water damaged (as in totally unreadable) and that she would buy another one. yup still not got that one back
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND.
I love this so true and I love the style of this video hope to see more like this in December
Totally true!!! I feel the same!
Just found your channel LOVE IT! And I thought I was the only one who felt that way toward books. WOW I guess it's normal
I totally agree with you!
I'm the same way! I don't know how to tell people no. Also I hate when my books come back smelling like someone else's house. I know that is probably really weird!
I agree with you! This video is so accurate!
"Are these any good?"
"No."
So perfect xD
so acurate! i can never loan books. once i loan my perks book. i got it back a year later and there was pen marks all on the book.
THIS IS SO ACCURATE. Love love love this vid.
YOU GET ME DUDE .YOU.GET.ME
TheBookTuber lol
Time happens to me all the time I finally said enough is enough after one of my friends let her nephews get a hold of one of my books and when I got it back two months later it was ripped clean into (I had to tape it back together) and they drew all over the pages.
My sister-in-law borrowed my hardback copy of MockyingJay two years ago and I still haven't seen it I finally broke down and bought another copy last week.
OH MY GOSH!!!!! This happens to me too! I don't even bring some of my books to school because people always ask me if they can borrow them.
Yeah my copy of divergent was given to one of my friends and it's been at one of their houses for two years -.-
Oh my God, never in the history of RUclips have I ever related to a video more.
Great video! I feel the same way. I lend out a book more than 6 months ago and now I have to ask it back EVERYDAY UGHHH
Definitely can relate. I rarely lend my books out anymore.
Lol, "do i need to give you a bookmark too!?" Haha!!!
I am the exact same way! The only person that can borrow my books. Except I give her a rundown of book borrowing etiquette. My sister borrowed Eclipse and Breaking Dawn from me before my niece was born. My niece is gonna be 3 in January and I have yet to see those books.
Ha, ha! "GO HOME!"
This was really funny at some parts but so so true!
PS: A friend of mine lent a whole series to someone and after a while they stopped talking due to some reasons and she lost her book series in this way. I think that we should lend books only to people that we trust.
Signed first edition of book lent out and the returned copy was not...friend lost it and thought to replace as if no one would notice that it was not the same book....
Totally agree with you.
THIS IS SO EFFING ACCURATE
Love this very funny but very true!
Oh and I remembered someone had lent me a book (cause it wasn't a libriary and I made a trade by giving him a sheet of music) I never gave it to someone else or let them even touch it (one took it from me, but gave it back cause they wanted to look at it for a minute) but it was a manga which by the way unless they have a super good cover always the cover sticks up (why I hate paperback, besides that the covers also get ripped off) and I literally pressed the book down when I was done before giving it back cause I hate it when someone messes mine up even that far so I didn't do it to someone else, yea . . .
