The Pact was one of the first Jodi Picoult books I read, I was hooked after that. You should def get to it soon, I didn't find it depressing, just a page-turner!

you know, if you are having that much trouble with city of bones I would recomend you go read clockwork angel and the whole infernal devices first. Dont get me wrong, I love TMI, but TID is just good from the start while TMI gets 2 books to get really good

i had such a hard time getting through City of Bones. The plot is pretty interesting but the writing is just terrible in my opinion. I couldn't get through it without editing it myself (especially because I was taking a creative writing course at the time). Can't bring myself to finish that series, or pick up the second one. Fun video!

Read the mortal instruments. City of bones is kind of slow but city of ashes is good and city of glass is perfect. The series is soo good read it.
