This particular DC-10-30F was the 442nd DC-10 to be built and was delivered new to FedEx in 1988. In 2011 she was sold to TAB Cargo of Bolivia. She's now the only active DC-10 in their fleet and is used to operate Cargo flights between Santa Cruz, Bolivia to Miami, USA. She's now flying back to Santa Cruz, Bolivia. After this DC10 aircraft, only four more DC-10s were built comprising two DC-10-30F for FedEx , one passenger DC-10-30 for Bangladesh Biman Airlines of Bangladesh and the final and 446th DC-10-30, also a passenger aircraft, was delivered new to Nigeria Airways in early 1989.
Those DC-10's were obnoxiously loud! I remember being at DUS Airport as a kid when the tarmac was full of Condor DC10's, LTU TriStars and even some B727's were around...those were the days! I miss that acoustic apocalypse.
Wonderful takeoff roll, wondering if V1 and Vr would ever occur! The curvature of the earth certainly helped the '10 off the runway! Had wondered if the Loadmaster had used inaccurate weight figures from his manifest! Whew. Love it.
The good old DC-10 what an aircraft more power than it need it ! I-flow many of flights on Continental from the mainland to Honolulu such a great aircraft widebody and plenty of room and the cocktail lounge was in the front okay she was one of the queen of the Skies
Great times when airplaines sound like airplaines !

Love it! Old girl was heavy! Just listen to how much thrust they kept in just to move her from holding short to holding in position!
Fed-Ex has retired all of their DC-10's leaving TAB Airlines as the last commercial operator.
Overheard in the employee parking lot at the end of the runway: DUCK!
an oldie but a goodie
beautiful !!! this plane is from my country Bolivia, it still flights today, year 2018 !!!
I miss working for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. Every day down in Long Beach, seeing those bad boys take off.

great sound from those ge cf6-50 engines old school
Awesome sound.I so miss these three-holers.Great time flying on it back those days.
I think the last time I’ve ever seen one of these in the air was in the early 2000’s. The engine on the tail told you exactly what it was.
I’m proud to have flown on a DC10
I love the DC-10... first wide body I ever flew...

The high pitching whining idle sounds of these early CF-6 are just so enjoyable, and their full power roar the same.
I flew many times in that one as a passenger and even took off on that runway. It was Aeromexico’s XA-DUH, Castillo de Chapultepec
the best engines sound!!!!
Wow, no warm-up even.
