Keep in mind these IDs are based on "Air Tests" and should only be taken as a best guess. As you find these actual items underground feel free and share your numbers in the comments. Thanks for watching!
If I saw this right I think the Musket ball and the other lead just dotted under the line. This is good stuff right here. Air test brings you to the playing field so you know know those numbers are/more likely to be what it says it is. Thanks For sharing .
Great vid Scott! I'm probably the biggest RUclips skeptic as far as machines! I'm one of the most avid water hunters on coast of Florida! Have flooded more Minelab machines then most and Will Not Use AYTHING BUT A MINELAB!! Dont need a screen I go by tone! Ordered a new 900. I sure hope I'm not sending it back for repair as often as I did with previous units???? I guess we will see as if anyone will flood it, it will be ME! 🤣 LOL! 👍👍👍
Awesome test! this was the first one i was gonna do just to get an idea what to keep an eye out for! You beat me to it!😊 great job scott! Man the 2d is shweeet!
It’s funny that you said 1810 capped bust half because I found literally the same year this last year with my etrac lol I just got the manticore yesterday and am excited to get out with it. I wish I could send you the pic but our RUclips channel Woodland Metal Detecting has the video of me getting it in a farm field. Happy hunting!!
thank you. Thank You. THANK YOU for the Manticore vids. I’ve been looking for some background on it’s settings, and how it performs. I think I have found everything in one place! It looks like Minelab has improved its target ID. I found the Equinox to be all over the place (and horrible with EMI). On the CTX, a 12-44 could be a copper penny, clad dime, or silver dime. 12-47 could be a clad or silver quarter. A couple questions on the Manticore target IDs: 1:48 wheat cent was 72-73 (a wheat penny is 90% copper). 2:04 memorial cent was 76-77. Was this a 97.5% zinc penny? 2:36 clad dime 77-78 2:48 silver Rosie 82-84 3:07 Merc 82-83 3:20 Barber 73-75 Wha? The Barber has the same weight and composition as a Merc and Rosie, yet the target ID is completely different! Any idea why?
Ok looking for idea's. Today I dug up an old pair of glasses or at least the eye piece part of them. No lens or arms. Air test shows a solid 10 on the Manticore with a tight round ball on the high conductive line, & a solid 10 on my Nox 600.
Thank you for testing some common non-ferrous targets on the manticore……I would love to see the vdi’s of a zinc penny (1982-present) and a standard Indian penny (non-fatty)….I know from years of digging early wheat (teens-20’s) and Indian cents that they typically have a slightly lower vdi than the later wheat cents (40’s-50’s).
@@MentalMetal Thank you. If I get the opportunity to test the 900 and my Manticore in a ground test for VDI numbers this summer I’ll give you my findings if you would like them.
Never go on numbers if it beeps, and it's not 100% iron tone dig it ,I had someone told me they would not have dug the same number as my gold coin numbers ,ppl won't learn
Use the tools that you have. Sometimes it may be necessary to look at the numbers especially with the 2D map. It could save you some valuable digging time.
@MentalMetal I would rather dig it ,I had a dodgy signal and number all over the place ,I even started digging and stopping thinking it was a deep horse shoe but a voice in my head said "if in doubt dig it out " and boom you know what if found that gave me a £110,000 pay out ,if it beeps dig it
Why are coins all over the place. Am I the only one seeing this? Seen similar results on Tennessee sharpshooter video. Than you watch calabash videos they are up averaging big time. With coins following all over the VDI scale like this can slaw and other non ferrous junk trash targets are going to be a enemy. But on the same page more gold targets.
I can't speak for the other guys but I clearly stated in my video to take my air tests with a grain of salt (any air tests for that matter) the goal was to try and get us into the ball park of what we might expect to see in the field. I think this video helps a bit. For the record here, all of the coin signals in this video never fell into my junk range of a piece of foil that was hitting 32-33 or a beaver tail hitting 31-32. Only a pull tab was hitting 24-25 that crossed the nickel signals. They do the same thing on the Deus 2. You can't get away from most pull tabs.

Lots of great information. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
great to see the target IDs in conjunction with the 2d display, lots of info coming in
Yep lots ;-)
Thank you for that video, it was very informative and will help me set up my Manticore when I get it.
Awesome that is the idea. Good luck with yours.
Trimakasih kawan sudah berbagi pengetahuan 🙏👍❤️

Thats the idea, just get you in the ball park.

Ray I hope the issues are fixed or it could be very bad for them.
Awesome test!, Thanks for such a informative video!, i,m sure alot of detectors are waiting for this awesome detector
Thanks for watching!

Its a cool machine Andy you are going to enjoy it.
Nice video, suppose to receive my manticore tomorrow. Least I have a good idea, Thanx
Good luck!
Are you able to post a picture of the numbers? I thought you would show it on your video

Looking for ideas about what? Sorry, Its not really clear what you are asking for.
@@MentalMetal idea's what it is?
Nice steady reviews. Far better than some. My pleasure to sub you. all the best from Cornwall. UK.👍
Thanks and welcome!
I love your tones. Did u set those up or those factory?
I set up my own based on how I like to hear targets.

I know I probably had a zinc penny sitting around and didn't think to include it. I just went with the pile of stuff I had laying around.
Have you ever compared the VDI numbers of the Equinox 900 to the VDI numbers of the Manticore and how similar they are to each other? Thank you.
yes they are very similar but not 100% the same.

Excelente muy buen video
Thanks!
Kind of weird how the wheat penny read lower than the memorial. What year memorial was it if you remember. What does a zincoln read?
Do tell....what is a " Cape" Bust Half Dollar? Is she wearing a cape like Batman? Lol, rare for sure!

@Mental Metal right....but its a "capped" (cap) not caped.
I think i was suffering from a mini stroke, thank you Dr. Webster :-)
Could be....you were actually giggling when you said "caped"......I do know my US coins....unfortunately, that's about it though.....
Good 👍
Thanks

Fair point I totally get it.
Beach mode air test please
I saved all of my beach targets from the summer and I'll put something together.
Has anybody done a gold coin to see how they come up?
Thanks for your help:)
If I had one I would have surely ran it under the coil
It WOULD be nice if you First showed your target in front of camera then you could proceed.... Gary
I do the best I can, sorry for your disappointment. I'm always trying to get better at this.

Six months and they will bring a new one out saying that the new machine is better than the Manticore
Have you posted the exact same comments 3 or more times? As I keep seeing it pop up
