I have a character called Thomas Genericman, his whole gimmick being he's kinda just an ordinary guy, so hearing Mark describe an ordinary dude, only to reveal his name is Thomas, made me unreasonably giddy
Ignarius is such a dad with his booming voice, saying super obvious things, I can imagine Emberissa and Obsidius cringing inside haha Jasper & the Gang rise up!
Most d&d live plays are so fun for the rp, but the fighting is soooo bland. I'm amazed how Mark always finds some way to spice things up! Fantasy capture the flag, alternate goals... I'm taking notes! Always so much fun!
I mean no disrespect to other guests that've been on HR, but Jasper has been my favorite so far! He had such a fun energy, and really seemed to gel with everyone. Hoping Atlas can pop back in from time to time. Really fun episode overall from everyone! :D
A most amazing fight between Gruff and Atlas with a thoroughly satisfying finish. The meeting with the representative from the Order of the Loyal Hounds also threatened to bring on the Leaky Eye Syndrome. 🥲
I was listening with my headphones at the end of gruff and atlas fight, I could hear the emotion in Marks voice so rewound it and you can see Mark got emotional at that point❤ AS DID I MARK, AS DID I!
Given the rose to Ophelia moment and the dance, I am absolutely here for Gruff to be the Wyne or Cassandra character from Dragon Age that harmlessly or mildly flirting with the party.
If it matters for the tournament outcome / Mark's notes , noticed some Glory points potentially got missed: Atlas should get a point of Glory for critting Thomas with the flag Atlas (Imo) deserves a Glory point for surviving essentially the entire enemy team's attacks in an amazing last stand, enabling Xantheus to teleport him out for a capture assist Xantheus should get a point of Glory for knocking out Dame Elandra with his Thunderstep Xantheus maybe gets a Glory point for awesome teamwork with Atlas / teleporting 90 feet directly to the flag
I actually caught this episode live for the first time in years. Such a great time with an equally great guest. I'm so curious where the next arc is going to take us!
Great episode! I understand that Atlas' match in the Shieldsman Finale was meant to be basically unwinable, but his opponent should not have been allowed to use that type of attack. Mark has explicitly said multiple times that offensive magic was not allowed in that tournament. Not a critisism, just an observation, but maybe that would have made a difference in the results.
guys.... why do I ship Xantheus and Ophelia.... do I need help?! Gruff is the father figure, Daisy the youngest sibling, Rowan the loving yet dumb bro, but Xantheus and Ophelia... I don't know, I ship the twi. Also ship the other Jotnyr in the recent fight with Atlas and Rowan....
Flaming blade only comes back for fire genasi after a long rest, and Jasper also didn't make multiple concentration checks for it. It kind of felt like he just powergamed his way to victory when Gruffudd is actually a main part of this campaign :/
Yeah, you can also only make one spell attack a turn which is what flame blade has you do each time you attack. It doesnt let you deal 6d8 Fire Damage a turn just because you've got Extra Attack. He also used 2 bonus actions in a turn, one to summon flame blade back to his hand and another to use the back of his spear to attack which also shouldn't have been possible because he attacked with flame blade not his spear that turn. Gruff would have won easily had they followed the rules, but it still made for a good story. As a forever DM this hurt me.
I think it is sad that you feel that this is the case. I think on all counts it was merely forgetting some of the rules. This is understandable given the number of homebrew rules that were introduced as well. I also think that there is nothing wrong story or character wise with either of them winning.
@@lincolnsummers1235 It's like I was just supporting a team in sports. The team I supported lost, and-even if unintentionally-there was a very mild amount of rule-breaking / cheese on the opposing team. I don't really think that's sad, and I'm only giving the lightest amount of criticism. I think it's totally fair to feel the way I do

If you have watched Aerois. The fight against Atelicus was so fucking cool.
Gruff &Atlas was a first Rocky movie type of vibe. They both had what it took to go the distance🤗
Daisy: who is more annoying right now?
Rowan: Xantheus
😂 I'm dying!
Crazy how much having a guest on changes the energy, great call for the tournament, it was very hype!
got laid off yesterday, glad i decided to wait to watch this episode a few days. this is the mood booster i need
Hope it all works out for you mate! Better days ahead for sure!
@@JumanJosh thanks man. I appreciate it
Shit that sucks! I am sure you'll find something better soon🤞!
Love how Mark is always trying new things with the mechanics of D&D. I'm adding this CTF style mode to my list of things to steal for my own campaign.
Loved this episode. And Jasper! Look forward to him and Atlas returning :D can't wait for the fan art. . .!!
Good to know grandparents handing out Wurthers crosses national boundaries and oceans

Would love to see Jasper back (recurring guest or permanent new member -- one can dream!), he was great!! :-)
Jasper was really good. Would love to see him come back
that was such a fun episode. you could really tell that everyone was having a blast. I hope we get to see Atlas again he was a great guest.

Hoping we get to see Jasper again someday! :)

Been waiting for this one! ❤❤❤ Let's go Gruff and Atlas!

Jasper was great.
I was totally expecting it to be revealed that Atlas Altar Phoenix is actually the Flame of Helios reincarnated.
So sad the Thomas had a wheel, but no Ben. Almost a classic Tom and Ben
I like the idea that they both sent each other a Google form to fill out.
!!!!! Love this campaign.

FOR THE EMPRESS!!!! FOR THE ALGORITHM!!!!!
*your DND streamer’s favourite DND streamer*🎉
Did anyone else imagine the Unreal Tournament announcer during the team capture the flag battle? "Rampage!" "Killing Spree!" "Godlike!"
Missed the live because of work. Excited for this one!👍
I wish I could master game pacing with my group to achieve as much as this group does in their 3 hour block each week.
Mark's classic leaky eye syndrome almost flared up @ 53:40 but he got it under control. Once he starts, my condition flares up too 🥲
wonder if the special oneshot is gonna be the new stormlight archive ttrpg
The Kickstarter for it also starts next week so it would certainly make sense.
Jasper is a damn delight. What awesome RP and voice acting!
ANTI SPOILER BARRIER
Honest work right here
Good work, birb!
Knightly behaviour right here
Hero birb
I salute you, birdy
I know they where joking about atlas being in the team name, but I think something like The Atlas of Glory is a awesome team name
Whoo, high roller time! Oh am i late? Vod team again!
Double radius entangle is pretty huge
if i had a nickle for every time Mark played a big strong lady...
Love me some Jasper/Atlas! 🔥
Jasper's amazing.
can "Farmer In Armour" plz be tshirt!?🤣😎👍
Jasper absolutely stole the show, he’s such an awesome guest!
"Do you wanna be my dad too?"
Nooo I missed the secret vod squad today ughhh

i would assume that was a javellin of lightning.
Half Dragon. Breath Weapon. Technically not spellcasting. ;)
@@SherlockHulmesDMThe rule was in universe so it would definitely apply
Shoutout to Rummage ASMR
Not sure if ive missed something but i thought you couldnt cast apells while raging - ophelia cast chill touch whilst raging in the conquest?
They homebrewed that out
for the wheel

How much do I need to donate for y’all to hire Jasper full time please I need him he really fills the void Matt left 😭😂
didnt both tom and rhi do that?

☕
How could the lady giant use lightning? That's against the rules should have been disqualified
Two forgotten concentration rolls 🤪
Daisy barely talked this episode
When you're raging, you can't cast spells... INCLUDING hellish rebuke! There is a reason people don't multiclass spellcasters and barbs.
Unless the DM (me) says you can, because he knows the character isn't OP and trusts the Player not to abuse it. Rule no 1. DM has the final word.

Great episode. The Thunder Step move was waaaay too meta though.
I think the word you're looking for is strategic...
