With the release of the Captain America: The First Avenger in July 2011, audiences got their first cinematic taste of the superhero in red, white and blue. Steve Rogers was introduced in the comics in 1941, first appearing in Captain America Comics #1. He became an American super soldier designed to fight the Axis of power during World War II. His character immediately became a beacon a champion for the people. Simultaneously, Cap’s shield became one of the most iconic symbols in all the Marvel universe. The shield is Cap’s primary weapon and defense. It can be found attached to his back or his arm as he runs into battle.
The most well-known of his shields is a disc shaped object. It has a white five-pointed star design in the center within blue, red, and white concentric circles. Rogers uses this disc against his enemies by throwing it at them. He can also perform truly mind bogglingly impossible tricks and feats of physics with it during battle. It is considered virtually indestructible.
What is really know about Cap’s shield? It turns out that Marvel has been burying many secrets over the years about his disc. For example, the disc is not as impervious to scuff. It has gone further than that. The shield has been broken and reformed. There have also been times when Cap used other variations of the disc, like one made of light. There are numerous alternatives in the past, present and future. It is not made of pure vibranium like fans have been led to believe. This is just the start of it. As a US Army veteran, Captain American is my favorite. On my mother's side of the family, we have had a soldier in every war since WW2 ( my uncle was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked, and later, sadly, his oldest son, was a Green Beret that was the only one of us that was KIA). And we have/had most recently, father and son Ranger snipers, the son is still down range. Cap is our favorite.

Ever heard of the Behr brand from Home Depot? You have to travel to the original HD location, go right at the last minute of their operating hours, ask for "Sum Dum Goy" it is there and only there shall he recede instantly deep into the store's floor as you both enter a secret underground layer comprised with some of the top space-age materials and weaponry of the past and illaudable future. He won't ask you a color, a hue, or a density. He will simply present you with a 1 gallon copper-toned paint can that reads "ROJO, AZUL, BLANCO" and it with THIS and ONLY THIS that you shall be able to spot touch the shield that Cap wields in the MCU from it's horrid scratches, dents, and dings. I'm not sure if it's real or if I imagined it, but I remember reading an issue of captain america where Steve was training with a Zippo lighter. He had enough skill to flick the lighter open without tipping it over, striking it, snuffing the flame and closing it back up again. And it never budged. Crazy control.

Plot twist the shield *IS* breakable, but it’s just the paint job that makes it so strong.
4:10 - Incorrect. Tony did not make a second shield for Steve after being unfrozen. It's the same shield Howard made, it was in the plane with him. This is confirmed in Endgame when the shield is returned to him and Tony responds to Steve's worries by reminding him, "He made it for you."

I'm pretty sure it's the same shield. Remember on civil war after the fight Tony told cap " my father made that shield, it doesn't belong to you " so cap left it. Then Tony returns it to cap in end game

Cap's vibranium shield is supposed to absorb vibration so it's not supposed to bounce back to you when you throw it.
By the way Steve polishes his shield.... that's why it is always in good condition. And in the comics idk who made the shield but in the MCU, Howard Stark made it. I think it can only be broken or damaged by another weapon made of vibranium and probably some other space stuff.....

The reason cap can throw it and it returns is not because he trains or whatever. The serum makes him “see faster” which really means he can predict angles at which to throw it
The “color scheme” is supposed to by titanium dioxide paint. That’s why it shows damage at one then new the next. Remember in the beginning of Winter Soldier it was blue & silver in color, more like a stealth version.

The section that others can use it at 8:40 includes several names who have held the shield, but doesn't include the name Spiderman, which is shown to hold in a clip IN THIS VIDEO at 1:10.
The "cracks" and other damage to the shield really just seems like damage to the paint, not to the metal itself.
Actually if Magneto's powers are magnetic, it means that Caps shield isn't Ferritic, meaning it contains no iron. Perhaps when they made the adamantium that is in Wolverine they mixed it with hemoglobin(the iron that is part of red blood cells) in order for it to bond to his skeleton. Cap's shield could be just para-magnetic, which means little affected by magnetic fields, diamagnetic means repulsed by magnetic fields, nonmagnetic means not affected by magnets at all. It's still metal, just not a ferritic metal. Think Titanium.

Your analysis is scientifically accurate, but the initial assumption was wrong. Magneto's name is a bit of a misnomer. He has control over metals in general, not just ferromagnetic fields. Tony Stark had to resort to making a suit of carbon nanotubes to fight him. Even more tellingly, Magneto is one of the few able to move Mjölnir, and it's sure not because he's worthy. So needless to say, him being unable to control Cap's shield is really fucking weird.

Few people know that, but Vibranium isn't the strongest metal in the Marvel universe. It's used because it had very "flexible" uses. From nano-tech (like Black Panther's suit), to blunt weapons (like Cap's shield), sharp weapons (Black Panther's Claws), it's an energy source, we learn that it can also act as a kinetic energy absorbent too (BP suit again)! But what it is NOT is the strongest Metal in the Marvel Universe. That place is taken by Adamantium. One can make it melt, but one's it has been shaped it becomes indestructible by anything else except for heated Adamantium (as we've seen in the Wolverine's movie) and strong enough magic of course (The reality stone can make and remake reality almost without limit. Adamantium is only a metal. Wanda's Chaos magic is also powerful enough to modify reality so she would have no trouble disintegrating every particle in Logan's body). Wolverine could shred Cap's shield in a one on one, with his adamantium claws. One downside to adamantium is that it becomes poisonous if you are exposed to it for too long. In the movie Logan, Wolverine's ability to heal himself was diminished by the anti-mutation agents sneaked into corn syrup and other mundane everyday food, which ultimately led to Logan dying of Andamantium poisoning.

A lot of these "facts" are wrong. For one, Cap, in the cinematic universe, uses the same shield in present day that he used in WWII. When he beats iron Man at the end of Civil War, Tony cries out to Steve to give up his shield. He said his father made it and he didn't deserve to carry it

It's probably just the paint work getting messed up and not the shield itself getting damaged. Like with Blank Panthers scratches for example. Stuff like that could be fixed.

Right, and the "damage" markings on it are from bullet and explosive residue, not actual damage to the shield. Clean it and repaint it, and it will look as good as new. It has had several slightly different paint jobs over the years, but contrary to what this video claims it is always the same shield, of which there is only one in the MCU.

I think only the Black Panther's claws have actually damaged the shield (same material). All other MCU battle damage is just the paint job on the metal. Notice how it's darkened during the ship infiltration in Cap 2. It's just a paint change, not a new shield.

The shield is not 100% vibranium and there are few comic where Magneto has controlled Cap shield.
another thing.... capt's shield makes no sense.... it made of vibrabium which absorbs and dispel kinetic energy so it shouldn't be able to bounce off walls cuz it dispels the force of the throw
