I am really amazed of u making a video, atalking while driving! I cannot do that! Please recommend a book for pharmacy tech skills. I will only do self study and hope to take the exam in about 2-3 months from March 2019. Thanks
So my hospital do not require CPR to work as Pharmacy coz we don’t really deal with patients. But now that in school they make us cpr certified. Really easy though. They showed us how to do then an instruction watch your technique and that’s it
Hey Julie I commented on your last video. I have decided to take out a 10k loan and I am starting pharmacy tech classes next week. I know I took a huge risk but the price isnt that bad its about the same price if I buy a brand new car and they place u to extern in a hospital. This video was helpful, I am hoping if I get a job in a hospital they will pay for my IV and compounding classes . I subscribed to u and btw I am vietnamese too haha!
Omgggg that is really risky and it cost a year in pharmacy school to get a PharmD. I do not wanna discourage you in anyway but I wouldn’t recommend to take that route. If you already did and no refund then it’s okay, but make sure you use them to every last penny you paid for. Make sure they get you your IV certificate too girl coz most hospitals wouldn’t hire people without IV certified anyway but even if they do I don’t think they would pay for it. Tbh, from what I know Hospital pharmacies do not profit much from selling the drugs like how retail is so they don’t give as much benefits as retail pharmacies do. I’m so glad you find my channel if you need any help please feel free to email me or DM on either one of my IG account I would love to answer any questions that you have.
@@GINGERJOI I left the school after 2 weeks. They accept illiterate trash people that was bothering me and the directors didnt do shit. Anyone else thinking of going for pharm tech beware of "trade schools".
Hi, your videos about pharmacy pharmacy technician are very helpful. Thank you. How do i get the iv certificate? And can you please upload the video about hospital pharmacy technician job interview?
Thank you! I will try to film the hospital pharmacy soon! And IV certificate can get thru accredited programs in your area. Make sure to read their reviews or ask around to see make sure you got a legit one!
Weird, I've been a hospital pharmacy technician in 2 states (sc & indiana) Never had an 800 dollar class for IV compounding. I was just trained and put in there. Lmao
Would working as a PT in hospital be difficult if you had no prior experience or training, such as working in a retail pharmacy? I am both licensed and certified.
I wouldnt say it’s hard, I didnt have any experience either and they just train you. Every new job requires at least 40hrs of training so you’ll be fine.
My school was a little different than other schools. They just wanted to be extra and stuffs they did in stations we had 11 stations in total with 10 different interviewers and 1 station with a “teamwork” kinda station to see how you handle situations when teamwork is required. Instead of asking basic questions like why you wanna become a pharmacists, who’s your role model ect... graduate schools tend to ask about scenarios like if an angry patient come in how would you deal with it? Or different culture beliefs and stuff how would you handle the situation. I will make a video about this in detail. But as for right now I’ve a video call “How to ace school Interview” up on my channel. Make sure to check it out ;)
Thank you! I have been applying to hospitals I am already certified but I want to be ready if I get lucky and get an interview with them. What kind of questions they ask?
They just asked me if I had any hospital experience and I said no... but I told them that I wanted to become a pharmacist so they understand that being able to work at the hospital is a great opportunity for me. They really just asked about my career path tbh. Make sure to show them how desperate you are and how much you’re willing to stay with them for a long time. They might ask your 5 years plan and make sure to include that you see yourself working for them.
Hi Julie, I’m gonna start the pharmacy tech in summer at community college. I read you comment about self study, but I don’t know exactly how to do it. Can you give detail about it like what book should I read first. I’m Vietnamese too but my English not good as you
For calculations you should get this book called " Pharmacy Calculation Workbook" ISBN : 978-0-7442-8420-1 for retail, compounding and hospital pharmacy setting. To learn top 200 or 300 drugs trade/generic name , just go to Quizlet.com and type in search : " top 300 drugs " quizlet.com/387829483/top-300-drug-final-trade-namegeneric-flash-cards/ For clinical its up to the professor at your community college to selecting a right book.
Sorry Im so late with reply due to school. I’ll have a vid uploading this Tuesday that would be really helpful! I would suggest to self study to save money and time

Gracie Lou I work in a hospital pharmacy and they usually pay a lot more. Depending on where you live, but I make close to $30,000 a year.

Hie there:). I wanted to ask if pharm tech will give you advantage when entering pharmacy school? Or if there’s a way to advance with pharm tech?
