Come home safe and thanks for your service! OTT was out of Salt Lake but is now in CA. If you want to fly in for a school we have bikes you can rent from local companies for the day, delivered to the track for you. I may go to Miller to do a school with Apex Track days this year, but that needs to be worked out. Keep watching as 2 Clicks Out will be double the production of last Fall. Hope that keeps you entertained :) Be well and safe, and spread the word. Dave Moss, Host
@tristesote1 you'll need the shock preload all the way to max and close the rebound screw, and the fork preload at max with low speed compression at 4 clicks out, Your big problem will be weight transfer forwards and backwards (brake/acceleration) so don't hit the brakes too hard. Dave Moss Host
The R6 has no low down grunt like a 750 or 1000, so you have to clutch it as a stock bike to loft the front wheel. Most change gearing to practice stunting which makes the skill a lot easier to do. Dave Moss Host
The only way to lower a bike without links is to set the sag at 40mm or more front and rear. That way when you sit on the bike it collapses. Lowering the front forks can help but that flaws the geometry of the bike. Dave Moss Host
the wobble could be coming from the shock being discharged (losing all the nitrogen). Get another stock one off eBay - it will be much cheaper than repairing the one you have. Get the shock serviced with fresh oil and then install the settings. Dave Moss Host
Should I raise my front end of my 08 r6 (flush fork caps to triple) to compensate for the 190/60 211 gpa that I'm running? Thanks. Appreciate all the help you bring to the community.
Alvin - go from stock with 2 lines showing to 1 line showing on the outer fork - that should be enough. Flush may make the bike too tall in front - never a good thing! 2mm of change on this bike is a big deal :)
no we don't but I can give you the settings. How old is the fork and shock oil? How much has been changed on the bike from OEM. What brand and size tires are you using?
Hi Dave, I have a 2003 r6, I want to change the forks seal can you help me please. 1. What are the things I need (tools). 2. Do you have a video on how to change the seals. 3. Where do I purchased the stuff. Thank you Vic
My 2007 R6 just got new fork seals from a very reputable shop. However now the rebound settings are 32 clicks out from hardest setting. It feels good, a little softer and more I feel the rebound. I wasn't sure if the feel was better because of the new seals, or from the rebound adjustment at 32. Should I change rebound to 18 clicks as you did here?
Hey man, I've got a question / small request...I had a couple jokers working on my bike(2008 yamaha r6) and they dumped it off the lift damaging the Front fork preload adjuster cap bolt. I purchased a new part and I've tried to install it but, I cant seem to figure it out. Could you do a video on how to replace that part ? or give me a few instructions to better guide me.
hello, I have a 2000 r6 in my owner manual it states I have to a special tool that was just for this year of a bike to take off and on fork. if I can't find this tool is there anything else I could use as an alternative.
What if both my clicks are different? Say that the left is 17 and the right is 19. Which side do I start off with so I can get the other side to match?
I'm purchasing a 2008 soon that was originally female ridden, therefor has been adjusted for her height and weight. I know nothing about adjust the suspension as this is only my second bike, i was hoping you can help. If anything, just getting it back to stock would be nice. I am 6' and about 185 pounds. Any help would be appreciated.
On my 2010 R6 the manual states that there are 20 clicks on the forks slow speed compression damping while in reality the forks have 28 clicks... does this seem right ?
is there a way i can adjust my suspension 2 help with my wheelies. i have a 2011 r6 with 3500miles on it. all stock. i was told i can adjust my forks and swingarm 2 where it helps my front lift up kuz it seems i can only get it up by power wheelin it n first. thats it. clutch kinda. (or is it kuz im just a dumb ass and cant get it. hahahaha)

Yes, that can happen from time to time with settings information on range. Might just be a simple error in translation to English?
the lower triple clamp is bent, so buy a new one or have the existing part fixed. You may also need to check that the forks are straight.

06-07 is 41mm for the inverted fork, not sure of the 05, check the yamaha motor website
You adjust preload first, then low speed compression
if the settings especially for rebound are incorrect, yes.
no we don't but I can give you the settings. How old is the fork and shock oil? How much has been changed on the bike from OEM. What brand and size tires are you using?

Any of these adjustments be considered lowering the bike? Can you tell us how to lower the bike if any without links?

I am 250 lbs and 6'4, what recommendations do you have for my 07 R6
Thanks
Do you know what the default rider weight is for factory setup specifications? I'm curious if the default position is suitable for myself and my R6.
how many click is the top fork .... and the underneath ?
Great vid!
Thanks dave!
So if you over tighten the fork rebound adjuster, would you notice right away if you broke a component, or not? i'm very paranoid.
The idea is to know the stock suspension settings from the factory.
