Engagement (at work) has always meant (to me) simply "taking part" "joining in" "contributing" . It is true, of course, that some people are better at engaging than others. This could be because they are shy, not confident, introverted and not because they don't want to be engaged. Diversity, equality, inclusion. I don't hear the acronym "DEI" being used over here but I understand that white supremacists (Donald Trump?) don't like the idea. All reasonable people should be in favour. Grandchildren. Well, as a grandfather myself I understand that when children grow up and get married, their parents look forward to having grandchildren, but if they choose not to then the parents should accept the situation and respect the decisions of their children.
