I got mine last September. I own some pretty good rigs; Drake R8, Collins R390, etc, but the FTDX10 puts them to shame on many levels. I was initially concerned about not having variable AM bandwidth, but ECSS is so good it doesn't matter. Best radio money I ever spent.
Never know who we may hear ,I had qso with air planes ,ships ,cars, clubs balloons, mobile car people on beaches parks and mountain peaks ,it's neat there is a radio out there everywere
That's a good idea putting your other receivers on the V antenna with a switch. I have my 8600, R8, Sat 800, and RSPdx all on my Alpha Delta DX-Ultra inverted V Dipole using a 4 position coax switch. No noticable loss.
So if you were looking for a receiver like the Icom IC-R8600 that you would have to buy new vs a Yaesu FTdx10 that a friend bought new a few months ago and does not want it and I can get for about $500 off how much better is the Icom IC-R8600 if only using as a receiver?

I purchased one on-sale recently after reading all the positive comments about it!

Very nice rig
Very good review. Thanks.
I have the same speaker.
Trying to convince the ministry of Finance that this would be a great acquisition. So far no go.
It’s easier to get forgiveness than permission
It looks great!
Do you mean end-fed inverted V?

12 is not bad. 6 each side.
Have you used it on am ham?
29 is pretty good right now.
That scope field is messy looking
Good show. Is the 101mp overkill for the non contester?
The "MP" in FT-DX101MP stands for "more power". It is capable of 200W.
More room around the VFO also. If you can afford it go for it.
Great for DXers also. Too bad it doesn't link up with the DX clusters to show DX on the band with all their calls and frequencies.
