This is my FAVORITE RCT game! It is the only RCT game I have ever played as a kid, I love it!!
Just a bought the complete edition on Steam and I'm excited to play this bad boy again for the first time in almost 20 years. That intro had me MAD nostalgic.

I thought so too! I made sure to include it. In the original edit of the video, I mentioned the song "slapping" super hard haha but I wasn't sure if others felt the same way about it. I'm glad I wasn't alone! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
The hersheys stuff is in the game because the Soaked Expansion Pack was made in collaboration with Hershey Park. You can recreate some of the rides from Hershey Park

@@Tytar would I be able to make some suggestions of games I’d love you to review, such as age of mythology, this horribly funny glitchy buggy new game called marauders (steam) and carXdrift racing (what’s known as the hardest driving game) 😂 would be quite entertaining to see
You can always make suggestions! Age of Mythology is one of my all-time favorites and haven't played it in over a decade...I still own the discs and I do own it on Steam. I don't know when I'll cover it, but I can assure you, I intend to cover it at some point on the channel 😎@@iAmJayHonest
A cool feature in RCT3 was that you could import rollercoasters (custom and pre-made) from RCT1 and 2 if you had those games installed.
Another feature I loved was that you could make your own groups of guests and have the game notify you when they would visit the park and the rides. If you placed a photo spots in your park, they would take family / group pictures and the photo would be saved on your PC.
It was fun to look over the guests once in a while to see the interactions between them, since they weren't as mindless as in the previous games / other strategy games of that time, going from attraction to attraction etc. but had some group behaviors and needs, a bit of life simulation built into their AI such as when a group goes on a ride but one decides not to and simply watching the ones on the ride and wave at them, parents scolding their children for misbehavior and lovers holding hands when wondering the park and kissing every now and then. This simulation behavior is why some don't like RCT3 as much as the first two games.
That is all VERY cool information!! See, I dont know enough about the series to know which games are liked and which arent. But I know 3 isnt as popular. Do you know why people dont like the AI aspect youre mentioning? It seems to me like an upgrade, but perhaps Im not understanding what makes the older games so popular.
@@Tytar The guests in RCT3 like to wonder about your park more without actually going on rides, deciding to just look around and stopping for group chats or other interactions, so you might lose money because of it. They also walk pretty slow, so if you spread out rides in a huge park, it will take ages before they reach rides in the far end of the park. In the first two games, guests will always be heading towards a ride, taking breaks only when their hunger/ thirst, bladder etc. stats need refilling and if their mood is high, their walking speed will be fast, so huge parks with many rides will be populated in no time. There were no such things as family / groups, so no time wasted on group interactions or mindless wondering. *Very* rarely, you will see guests taking a break from rides to just look at one and take pictures (or paint if you used a cheat).
In Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo, spiritual successor to RCT3 made by the same devs, addressed this issue by keeping the group aspect from 3, toning down the group interactions but also having them move toward rides, especially new ones a bit more so that rides don't stay empty. Guests are always on the move in those games, similar to guests in RCT1 and 2.

Ive heard that about RCT World..I wonder why that one ended so bad? Ive done planet zoo once on the channel so far. Check it out if you ever get some free time. 😃 But the plan right now is to look at Planet Coaster after the RCT series 😃

I grew up with RCT 1 & 2, i had all the expansion packs expect for the last one Time Twister. I payed rct3 for a year or so when it first came out. Fun for the 3d aspect and the autocomplete feature.But i only get nostalgia on the original ones. I still play using Openrct2 =)

MY CHILDHOOD LITERALLY MY FAV GAME
Growing up, RT3 was always my favorite, but I'll admit; I am not ACTUALLY good at tycoon games. Especially (as you noticed) getting into the nitty gritty with the prices of everything, hahaha. Building the coasters was always my favorite part, though I can't say I great at that either...Glad this is gonna be a series though! :D

RCT3 was the only one I had the luxury of playing, but my understanding is the RCT community sticks with 2. Not sure why, we'll see during the series playthrough! Building and riding the coasters was all I ever did when I used to play this game. They did such a great job on the 3D coasters and being able to ride them was amazing. I'm glad my colorblind choices weren't so bad. :)

@@MikeWeiner Thank you Mike! I've been on RUclips for a long time. (Not on this channel, of course. This is the only channel I've actually attempted to scale up.) One of my biggest gripes with creators is the fact that they don't take the time to respond to every single comment (or engage with it in some way), and I intend to do that for as long as I can until I'm simply too large to handle it any more! I'm not perfect at it, but I try very hard to be. It's very important to me for the community side of things, but also, having been a fan of creators both small and large, it never made feel great as a viewer when I would take the time to type something out and they never even acknowledge what I said. It always gave me the impression that they felt they were bigger than or greater than their viewers. I never want anyone here to feel that way. Also, if a viewer is taking time to leave a comment, that's a high level of commitment! They are using their valuable time to share their thoughts with the content I'm creating. In my opinion, that is to be respected at the highest level. But more importantly, I think communicating with everyone here is a great way for me to stay involved and better understand my community and what type of content they're enjoying and looking for. Thank you for acknowledging this! I don't think anyone has before! But not that I expect you to acknowledge it either. Thank you regardless. :)
Honestly I think RCT3 is really misunderstood. The whole opening menu looked so awful compared to RCT1 and RCT2 that is was definitely not the greatest impression. The blocky building style coupled with the more flow landscape tools made it also a bit clunky to build stuff.
But, honestly, for it's time it was a really really good game. It had tons and tons of different roller coasters, tons of thrill rides all with different theming, and building a park was both fun and easy to pick up. I played it so much when I was a teenager in high school, and I still dabble into it once every now and then
I love your comment. It honestly is such a perfect way to sum up this game. Because when you actually play it, it's REALLY solid. RCT 1 and 2 were very similar in layouts and 3 was a departure from that, but its core gameplay was an improvement on a fundamental level, maybe not so much in RCT1/2 in its gameplay style though.
Yes and the flying coaster in rct3 has lower stats than it doesn't in rct2!

I just bought the complete edition on Steam. I played this game so much when it came out! I'm super excited because I never played the expansions and saw some really awesome creations with them way back in the day.
That's awesome!! I had never played the expansions either if I remember right. This game is/was a lot of fun :)
Just went back to it recently, its aged like wine, mabye not as well as the 2d games naturally, but even graphically it has a great art style and ton of charm
It really does! The game is mostly disliked by the RCT community but personally I enjoy this entry quite a lot.
@Tytar really? What about it warrants such strong dislike? I mean it has its annoying quirks, it irritates me that it doesn't have the option to play sandbox mode with an economy but other than a few things it gives you most of what you could ask for for the type of game it was at the time
@@dylanmcwilliam Well, from what I have seen, it is less about disliking it and more about comparing it to RCT2, which people say is the pinnacle of the series
@Tytar see I've not played the 2d games, but I imagine it's almost like comparing the sims 2 and 3, technically in derms of gameplay depth, sims 2 is king, however, the sims 3 does so many things amazingly in its own right that you can't really say it isn't a decent followup
RCT3 may not be the best game in the series, but the older games don't let me put 100 Gecs on a loudspeaker

I would agree!! It's not something I did enough of during this playthrough. I think the sandbox mentality I had while playing this mode made me not care about money nearly enough!

Yes, I would say so. It's a great casual park builder. I would not expect to play this game all the time. But it is great to hop in for a few hours every month or so.

@@Tytar although what made the first person ride better in Sim Coaster than RCT was the fact that you could put the first person camera on a path and walk around the park with the arrow keys

@@Tytar Yes I had Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum version which includes the Wild and Soaked expansions. I really didn't care too much about the water rides. But building a Zoo inside my park was always fun. The Lions could also escape if the fences were damaged and you don't repair it.

It's mine too. I'm not sure why I forgot about it for so long. It's one of the few games I've covered on the channel I've wanted to revisit AFTER the camera was off and just play it for fun! The coaster building and riding them is great!

Honestly RCT1 was really good! Might be my favorite of the 3!
One of my favorite feature of RCT 3, is that you can still have mischievous fun with the guests. Planet Coaster is a bit too serious, or maybe it's just the PC fans take things too serious.
I do whish that a great sim publisher (Paradox) could buy the rights to RCT and make RCT great again.
I think that's a great point you make! the rct games it seems to have more whimsy to them. The planet games seem to be more of a simulator style.

A lot of people would recommend you play RCT2, but I honestly had a great time with 3! Just depends on what you like. RCT2 is better for the more serious Tycoon enthusiast. RCT3 is better for casual park building with tycoon elements.

@@Cousinbiddy1 It doesn't really have that many glitches or crashes. Honestly, I run into more quirks with rct2 than 3. But the second game does have more content. They both have their charms. I personally prefer the third though.

I say get the game RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum, because that version has everything in it, from regular, to Soaked, to Wild. And seeing a lot of firework videos make me want to play this game again so I can make my own firework display
I could never figure out the fireworks display!! I really wanted to! Perhaps I should look into those videos because that does seem pretty intriguing
@@Tytar the game should have a tutorial on it. It's pretty easy to learn, very time-consuming of displaying it, but at the end it's all worth it

I looked everywhere and can't find anything!
I'm not sure of the technical way to do it, but I usually just push 'prt scn' button on my keyboard! Not all keyboards have it!

Unfortunately all I can do is take pictures from my blurry phone and post what I can which sucks!

After acquiring 1 and 2, I had to have 3. I could only play it for a little bit as 1, the cartoony effect of it was a change for me but being able to ride rides was great. This was also the time of not being able to go in and out of ground but the entire ride could be burried. Lastly and most discouraging was my computer couldnt keep up with the graphics as more guest would populate. So I went back to rct2 ever since. Now there is openrct2 and that is a whole new world of play on the same amazing game.
I hear similar stories to yours in some of the comments I read on this video! I definitely think I'm biased because this game was the 1st in the series I played. And if you end up watching the rest of the series I did on the channel, you'll see I'm ok with 2, but loved 1. Which caused me to realize RCT2 was better than I thought it was, I just judged it because of the way I approached the game. RCT2 is a great one!
