I look forward to the results. At this point the pulp looks too thick. There does not seem to be a flow of liquid to help the fibers in the pulp tangle with the existing comic book page fibers as you would see in a more traditional leaf casting. But I have also seen your results on other books, so it works. Thank you for reminding us that the formation aid makes the pulp slippery when wet.

Thanks Michael, it was because of the Formation Aid that slowed down the liquid drainage portion to a minimum and kept the pipetting tight and compact. You wouldn’t see that if I didn’t use it. Otherwise, it was at its 1.1% fiber concentration. I could’ve made it more dilute but with no machine it would be more time consuming to do numerous pipettings and then it would be also wetter. Worked well at the end, stay tuned my friend.

Very interesting Peter! Looking forward to how it looks when dry. Did you ever test how easily the dried pulp with formation aid is removed after fully after drying?

Good morning Jerry, yes, I have, and it is slightly better H bonding when Formation aid is used. You can certainly reverse the final results also. The furnish is also easier to dispense when you use it, although you’ll have to be careful not to use a rolling pin or it’ll disperse easily. So more delicate and it takes a few attempts to get the feel for it. Thanks for stopping by, Jerry!
