Making amazing Dowel jigs:No drill required!!

  • Hello friends
I made a high precision dowel jig without using any drill press
I used two-color wood for design, and it became a little complicated.
But the basic design is very simple.
I think the plan is unnecessary, but for my youtube activity, I sell.

@Heliya Badakhshan I think what he meant was if someone "stole" the video not the dowel itself.

As always a neat, practical solution to a commonly required tool. I admire your no-nonsense approach to all of your tool builds. We'd all like to walk into Lee Valley (or equivalent) and drop a ton of money on super-deluxe tools, but I think making them the way you do is more satisfying. Thank you for sharing your inspirations with us. I look forward to the next video, whether it be a tool build or a project.

This is a great design! I tried several attempts at making a dowelling jig last year with just a hand drill and finally gave up and bought an expensive factory made jig. If I had seen this video before I might have been able to make this instead.

Very nice workmanship. I also used to make similar jigs, but then found that 3D printing specialized jigs was much easier and accurate especially when using bushings as you do with this one. Worked extraordinarily well for a blanket ladder involving compound angles for each rung. Not to take away from your ideas, but perhaps an expansion for those more difficult projects.
