I think there was more to the assault that Korey suffered in the laundry room, as Ava used the same direction as she did in the attack on Rikers. This mirrored Korey being dragged away out of eyes view, then cutting to the aftermath of his attack.
Ava has said herself that she didn't show half of what Korey suffered. I commend her for telling us enough, whilst sensitively protecting Korey from the exposure of too much of his private trauma.
I pray for Korey and all the others that have been falsely imprisoned or given unjustly sentences. There are many Koreys who's story we have not heard.

I hope this series has exposed and brought the issue to the forefront enough to trigger debate, systematic changes, and uncorrupted investigations, into the way ethnic minority 'alleged' suspects are handled by the judicial system.

Respect your opinion,,, but in my defense I was just realizing Korey had a learning Disability ... honestly i just thought he was uneducated because he was skipping school.. And i'm speaking on me at 16...I know i would not have acted the same way Korey did in a Max facility, they see weakness in a place like that, you will get exposed... the toughest mf can get exposed and im no where near the toughest..Thinking highly of myself has nothing to do with. it.. I have been incarcerated for no where near as long as they were or in a max facility, and it was tough enough where i was at. .. @@ghill7324 RealHillz and I respect your response. I think because you watched this in a group setting that was about reactions, you missed key elements that showed that Korey had a disability. He had specific ticks and speaking patterns that gave a clear sense that there was some delay there. Even when asked questions, he turned his "good ear" to speakers.
I think we all believe we would behave particular way in instances that we are on the outside of, however a child, who already has a disadvantage and has no knowledge of the prison system would not know that he needs to present himself as strong. Even when watching you see him tell the guys, "You don't have to hurt me". In the courtroom he still had a sense of people doing right by him and the sentencing had him scream at the prosecutor, "You lied to me!!", which shows he didn't understand the full betrayal until that moment.
I hope you have had a chance to watch it in a setting wherein you could truly grasp all that went on.
I didn't mean to offend, I was just shocked at that response from you, as I peeped that you had a personal understanding of the process

He was ABUSED, CONFUSED AND BEATEN. Every single one of their stories hurt to watch but Korey’s resonates the most with everybody just because of what he endured during his time in prison especially at Ryker’s Island. I HATE what they went through but I’m so freaking happy they actually made it though and are here to tell their stories. I like you guys commentary but research before doing these vids is much needed. Kory skipped school due another peer putting a gun to his head. He got bullied due to him being partially death in one ear so that lead to him speaking the way he does. That is why he always skipped school. He was a child and never left that child like mind. That is the issue with most black youth they "act" too tough at a child's age. They are lead to believe that living their childhood makes them look soft which leads to most of them emotionally and spiritually distraught. Smh

Let's say Robert was real, in the 9/11 scene mentioned in the other comment, by then after all that time in solitary, was Roberts a figment of his imagination then? It did seem strange that Roberts told Korey he needed to see what happened that day on 9/11. If so, did it represent something? As if to say, yes you are going through some shit locked up, but look at what is happening outside right now, it's no better. The whole part with him in his solitary confinement was to show how he was "child like". It's been told that after a while, inmates could tell he was innocent because of the way he acted. Rapists act a certain way. As for the pig officer at Rikers, the chocolate candy signified sexual favors to the guard. I can't believe this is allowed. This is abuse of human rights. Even the worst of the worst deserve rights. Jails in the U.S. are some of the worst in the world. They need to rename our "justice" system and rename our "correctional system". This is not what it is. If anything, it is the opposite. Don't worry about crying on camera in front of your viewers. It just means you are a human and not a psychopath.

As some others said I think Korey had a learning disability and was deaf when he went in. I’ve seen some say that he might have ptsd after coming out which is understandable and heartbreaking. And the actress who played his sister is Isis King. She’s a very talented model, actress and transgender woman. She’s a woman :)

@@STGTV I was crying the whole time.! What happened too all of these boys is horrible, but Korey was wayy too young to get sent where he was sent.
And it's fucked up that the actual man who did it is the one who came forward. Its pretty scary to think that a serial rapist and murderer has more of a conscience then the people who are supposed too "protect" us. smh.

Dang, ya'll upload this at 6am (my time) lol. This episode had in me in my feelings...whew..Lord.
I feel like a lot of people forget that Korey had a slight intellectual disability, which explains why he spoke a certain way and was so innocent. Horrible. They threw him RIKERS ISLAND.

Korey sister was killed because she was transgender. She was a boy but is now a women. The reason why Korey was saying that nobody cares about him is that his sister(the person that cared) died. And yes the person playing his sister was a women😂

Kaylen Brandt No, The person who played Korey’s sister was a transgender woman named Isis King. She was on America’s Next Top Model.

Actually the person playing the role of Korey's sister is a transwoman named Isis. She used to be a boy. Isis is a model and was on Tyra Banks show America Next Top Model (I forget which season). So no, that's not a biological woman, but a transwoman...and beautiful at that.

It’s truly amazing how acting can enlighten and make us aware of people that we ignorantly or willingly neglect. I hope people learned the lesson that was intended to be learnt. CP5 is just a perfect example of how people that are wrongly convicted are given a blind eye. It sickens me to my very inner soul that some people’s first impression of young black men in particular and people of color is portrayed with crime, wrongdoing, etc etc etc, yet they fail to see the potential in those beautiful young lives. I, as an immigrant to this amazing country, had to fight all the stereotypes I’ve always heard and saw on tv before coming here, and I am a living example that ignorance can be cured with understanding and seeing things from different point of view. Keep your heads up and know with unity and love no one can ever beat us❤️✊🏽
P.S. I wasn’t tearing up man I was literally sobbing at some scenes!!!!!!!!
