I so understand what you mean when you go to a restaurant and you can tell the chef or the cooks put love and pride in their food! It makes me feel all warm inside and makes me smile to eat really tasty yummy food! Anyway, we go to Santa Monica often in the summertime so when we go there, I'm gonna have to remember this spot.

Filipino fun fact: the lemon has a purpose. It is meant to be sprinkled to the pancit. Since calamansi is not widely available in the U.S. they use lemon as a substitute. In the Philippines, commonly pancit like bihon, canton, palabok, etc., is sprinkled with calamansi. Filipino squeeze the calamansi (or lemon) on a spiral motion at the top of the pancit and then mixing it up, to add another taste to the dish and put it on a higher level.
Calamansi is also sprinkled on sizzling sisig.
But don't use that calamansi juice that is sweetened. 😁

Yes, I agree, I feel like that’s “Suka” which translate to vinegar with some spices. In some restaurants they sell it in bottles or you’ll get it in somes Asians/Filipino Stores.

5:54 it's called sweet chili sauce. if u want to make it urself, just use tomato/banana ketchup + a little water + sugar + chili flakes- mix them all and put it in a pan and use medium heat. keep stirring until it feels like the consistency is slightly thicker. then ur done 👍🏻

I'm surprised of how "tortang talong" looks like in this video, but it sure is delicious. normally in the philippines its more like a dark color when cooked. because its just egg and eggplant being combined. all the food is delicious ^^
They sell ube butter, ensamada butter and pandan butter, so delicious on warm pandesal or toast ❤❤❤❤❤

Pinakurat that's what I want as Vinigar Dipping sauce. There's a lot of what we called dipping suace here in the Philippines so it may vary in different places here.
