filipino culture is when koreans eat cringe american export (spaghetti) (and before anyone goes “um ackshually ith italiern🤓🤓🤓” tell me the last time italians occupied the philippines)
Filipino Spaghetti is on the sweet side since it is mostly or more so originally targeted on kids, especially Jollibee’s spaghetti. And well.. those kids grew up but even as adults we still enjoy that sweet style spaghetti even though we now consume the typical Italian Spaghetti versions.
Since it is Korean Ate Jessica, why not let korean kids taste it? We all know kids in general doesn't get influenced or pursuaded and kids are true to what they think. It will be a spicy no holds barred episode for Filipinos. The filipino spaghetti for me is like the equivalent of seaweed soup in the Philippines. You can't have your birthday without it because noodles/pansit/pasta in general is believed to be a symbol of long life in most filipino households.
My boss told me that way way back when he's still young (he's 50+ rn) a celebrant is well off or rich if the birthday party has a spaghetti, not until Jollibee came to picture and introduced the Jolly spaghetti wherein you can eat it anytime and of course at an affordable price. Since then Pinoy spaghetti is widely commercialized and can be eaten anytime of the day even without a celebration ☺️
There are different ways to cook spaghetti here in philippines, depends on the household. When I cook I add liver spread and bell pepper. And if you want to partner it to a spicy filipino food, I recommend Dynamite. It's a spring roll made from jalapeño pepper, ham, cheese , I add tofu instead of meat.
Pinoy style spaghetti is unique. It is further elevated with the savory tandem it has with fried chicken. I have eaten Italian tomato pasta, Japanese Napolitan Spaghetti but Pinoy Sweet Spaghetti will always have my heart♥
