    I completely agree I am still using the V31 And I was really hoping to upgrade to the new hunting bow this year but Without going into their stabilizer system I feel like it's almost pointless and there's no way in hell I'm spending $700 on stabilizers

    • @ryanmacke150
      @ryanmacke150 Год назад +2

      The bridge lock stabilizer is them fixing a problem that was never a problem. I’m not even sure what the point of it is.

    • @basebilljr07
      @basebilljr07 Год назад +1

      @Ryan Macke I honestly like the design it's nice not having to take your stabilizers off every time you put it in your case you can just slide it in. But the price of the stabilizers is just ridiculous. I have almost $250 into my front and backbar shrewd vantage stabilizers and another 150 for the shrewd back bar mount now and I thought that was crazy expensive.

    This Bow will kill mathews. Nobody wants a bow with rubber in the limbs. Money talks alot for mathews these days. very sad. Instead of invsting into a new cam system, like you said, they improve money income through stupid systems.

    Elite and bowtech have the ultimate adjustability. Rather have that than 8 limbs. If Mathews cam out with mods that have 1 inch adjustments and lo adjustments that would have been awesome.

    Excellent review. You touched on all my concerns about the Phase 4. 💯 agree that the $700 stabilizer system is going to hurt Matthews. I’m getting a new bow this season and on the fence on a few. I would love to hear what you have to say about the new Elite Omnia.

    • @benshingledecker5742
      @benshingledecker5742 Год назад

      I don’t see how it can hurt Mathews. It’s not like they are forcing you to use those specific stabilizers. They still have all the normal mounting spots for your other stabilizers. It just gives you the option to shoot them if you have the money. (I still think the new stabilizers are way overpriced)

    I appreciate your honesty! I think everyone does and am glad to see a RUclips video finally say what all of us are thinking instead of just “great stuff from Mathew’s. Truly revolutionary” your thoughts are exactly ours. We were hoping for some truly different technology. Didn’t quiet deliver, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good bow. Most of the industry makes the same bow over and over again and changes an inch here an inch there on the riser and puts a different name on it. Nice bow. Nice stabilizers. $700 nice? I don’t think so. I’m sure people will buy the bow. Stabilizers not so sure on.

    A cam (Prime) requires an engineering development. A hole in the riser...I don't think so. And the same goes for PSE and Hoyt. The good thing is I probably will find a V3x 33 at a good price now.

    I swapped from an 80 lb PSE XF33 to the Phase 4 33... Night and day difference in feel and aim and engineering, while only sacrificing 5 lbs of draw weight. XF33 at 80 lbs and 31" shot 540 grain arrows 296... the 75 lb at 31" Phase 4 shot 545 grain arrows at 287... its a no brainer. I chuckle every shot at how quiet and gentle this bow shoots. I bought a V3X 33 last year (and just finally finished building it out) and I love it... Shot the Phase 4 33 at my local shop (here in the PNW) and while it was quieter for sure I don't think it's enough to even begin to think of buying one and swapping over all my parts. I'm using the HHA RYZ with the dovetail in the Bridge-Lok system, I've got the detachable Low-Pro quiver and I'm running Shrewd 8* down and their rear bar mounts. To _ME_ Bridge-Lok and the Low-Pro quivers are the most advantageous things Mathews has done in a while. I hunt the PNW mainly in Coastal OR and all over Idaho and some in WA State, I could see building a V3X 29 or even a Phase 4 29 next year just for it's compact size in some of the terrain I find myself in but for the price I don't think I;d ever run their Bridge-Lok stabs.

    I think Mathews makes a great bow. However, I do not like the direction of the company. They have essentially released the Vertix 5 with proprietary accessories at a cost of 3 times or more.
    Hello PSE….. new Mach 34 for me.

  • @patrickjoy9551
    @patrickjoy9551 Год назад

    I have a V3X fully loaded and shot it against the P4. There was ZERO difference in vibe or sound. Even the tech's at the shop could not hear a difference. Its not an upgrade from any V series bow unless you want to utilize the bridge lock systems with the sights and stabs. With that said it would be a huge upgrade from an older Mathews or different brand. For me it was a disappointment because like you I was looking for a new cam system. For me they addressed things no one has complaints about. The SW draw cycle not my favorite. The grip, one of the worst. The weight, it could use a diet. The SW draw cycle is the same. The grip same ole crap. The weight, well they change it. Its heavier than the V3X. For me it is a swing and a miss.

  • @bartonmd
    @bartonmd Год назад

    I agree about the industry plateau! I've still got my Evoke 31 and 35 (SE) and haven't seen the need to upgrade to anything else. Even the Omen, I shot it and it's only like 5-6fps faster than my Evoke 31 with my 525gr arrow, both at the same weight and letoff, and the e/S2 cams have like zero valley and try to rip the arrow away from you when you back off the wall, so no thanks!

  • @michaelrosa5410
    @michaelrosa5410 Год назад

    Mathews should use a different cam for the longer axle bows and get away from that terrible designed cam they made to increase string angle for longer draw guys on their 28 inch axle bows. On a 33 or 34 axle, there's no need to increase string angle, so just make a smoother cam that is still fast or faster.

    I appreciate all your videos, especially the tuning ones. I currently shoot a v3x 33 and won’t be buying a Phase 4. The new stabilizers are cool but cost 3 times what they should. It’s $10 worth of aluminum and some rubber. A Mach 34 or the new Elite carbon will be in my near future.

    I would have to believe that Mathews has done extensive testing in regards to the rubber dampening utilizing extremes temperature changes.

      I would believe that just having the mathews brand is going to have enough knuckleheads buying them

      Yes, Mathews has one of the most extensive R&D processes of all the manufacturers, and they are well aware how cold the mountains and woods can be during hunting. Like I said I’m sure it’s not going to be an issue, but that’s been everyone’s question/hang up. Personally I’m more curious as to how they’ll hold up after a few thousand shots. Most people don’t shoot that much in a year, but there are those people out there shooting 500-1000 arrows a week.

    I'm wondering what you think is gonna happen to the rubber? What would weather matter? My truck tires don't seem to mind hot cold snow rain rocks mud trees

    • @InsideOutPrecision
      @InsideOutPrecision  Год назад +2

      Your truck tires are also steel belted and over an inch thick. This is a 1/8” piece of rubber. Just look at other rubber dampener accessories on bows, they all break down over time. Lots of people are just concerned that it’s something that has potential to change the tune of the bow in extreme weather conditions

    • @jeffsaxton2847
      @jeffsaxton2847 Год назад

      @@InsideOutPrecision yeah I can see that may be an issue but you'd hope they would have a replacement option in case of that. You can get replacement dampers for risers so you'd think you could get replacement limb dampers. Plus people don't keep bows long enough for them to break down

      @@InsideOutPrecision btw I watch a fair amount of your videos and think you give good content. You and Chris Bee are in my subs because I like the side of archery talk that has to do with fine detail and becoming obsessively accurate when shooting bow

    Elite is way above mathews now. The bows are better quality in every way and the price is right. Mathews has crossed the line with this stabilizer crap

      @@InsideOutPrecision Awesome! Maybe I'm an elite fan boy now, but I think that they're about to be the new giant slayers. Don't get me wrong mathews, hoyt, bowtech, pse are all super great bows, but elite is getting serious

      @@mikeguy9668 yeah they’ve always made great equipment, but dealers HATED dealing with the Total Outdoor Group ( owners of Elite, CBE, Scott, Winners Choice and like 3 other companies I can’t remember). Customer service was horrible and orders were screwed up more often than not. They did an overhaul in staffing last year so hopefully they figured it out, because they could be great.
