A 3 hour open mic?! 😮
One of the best open mics John Campea has ever done at the end of the day with respect I like people giving there opinions on things especially movies People have become so toxic in todays world that if its not the popular opinion and someone has a different opinion they want disrespect and crucify you that's POS behavior in my opinion why can we all just agree to disagree without any of the hard feelings? We cant because its always gonna be the popular opinion that wins against subjectiveness.
Jesus Christ, I'm getting so sick of the the Chris Stuckmann situation... it's literally just people manufacturing drama. That's all it is. People got upset that his video wasn't what they wanted it to be, so they tried to recontextualize it into something else entirely so they could complain. That's why so many of the comments have next-to-nothing to do with the actual video. It's like going to McDonalds, ordering a Big-Mac... and then bitching at the staff because you didn't get a taco.
In a few weeks, nobody will care because the situation is just mind-numbing meaninglessness people are using to distract themselves from the real world.

Sad to see chris not reviewing movies. But he has been clear a while back that he cant review movies like he use to anymore.
You are right on man.
well said
One of the sad things is in the RUclips world is that anger gets clicks. Unfortunately outrage sells so I don’t think a lot of these RUclipsrs are generally angry over Chris Stuckman‘s video. I think a lot of that outrage is Fake outrage. That being said, John’s analogy of employer employee in relation to a filmmaking studio and the creatives who make the movie doesn’t completely work. The studios are the investors, meaning, they are investing their resources and believing in the filmmakers vision. Or else why not simply direct and write your own film with your own money ? I think there needs to be a give-and-take, but the studio should definitely not have the right to dictate all the terms of a film being made.
One example of studio interference improving a movie was recommending Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice over Sammy Davis Jr.
Thank you John for your peter reference!
Stockman did blame the studios interference with the director of Madam Web while the director came out and said she had all the creative control in the world. Also his first movie already had a screening and it got bad reviews; like his past shorts that were trash.I don’t think Chris knows anything about dealing with studios. I’ve worked with studios as. A filmmaker that may want to change the title or artwork but not the story. He has no idea . No studio is going to pick him up. There are many other videos talking about how a bad person he is before he tried to make a film.
"I don't know that I'll ever understand making videos to give your opinion about someone else's opinion." said John Campea. The same guy who has done several videos doing just that. For example, all the times he's opined about Martin Scorsese's or Francis Ford Coppola's anti comic book movie opinions. Not that I think that's wrong. I just don't see a difference between that and people giving their opinion on Stuckmann's opinion in the Madame Web video. Not to mention Campea proceeds in this video to give his opinion on Stuckmann's opinion.
🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂😂😂mannnnn youtubers are comedy sometimes

This is another case of something having so much outrage, outrage, outrage, and then I watch the video in question and I'm like that wasn't too bad. These people need to find something better to do with their time. I've been clickbaited by Outrage Culture once again.
Great video
haha "is chris stuckmans name in this video?" i think most do it for same reason you do, its a covered topic, but there are a few who def just use to rage bait or white knight clickbait.. the biggest problem i have is the pretending to not be a critic when you just reviewed a move a few days agoit
i agree......4 beatles films.....why?? i dont care either
Nobody was pretending it was a MW review. They were deeply and correctly critiquing his nonsense take that reviews shouldn’t be critical and bad movies should be blamed on studios without any evidence.
Damn. Saw a long list of rage ish videos when I search Chris stockman controversy. As for people who kept saying Chris is not cool anymore because he doesn’t criticize bad films. He addressed it before where he decided to not review the bad ones. So i just expect that if he’s not reviewing a movie. That means he’s not positive about that movie and I just go to Jeremy Jahns to see his perspective.
the biritsh artiste impressionation, was top notch
Interesting, I have never heard that story framed as 'Doubting Peter'. 90% of the time I hear that story focused on the faith of Peter to walk out on the water (Peter even actually asked if they could walk - Jesus just told them not to be afraid, and only said to walk out after Peter asked). I have heard the perspective of how if we let our focus drift we may stumble, but even then Christ will rrach out to us and help us.
I mean the Chris thing was probably a preemptive strike knowing he was about to create a movie and was probably saying:”oh let me get ahead of this so it won’t come back and bite me”
All in all it’s his decision he can do what he wants and we can watch other reviewers….PROBLEM SOLVE

I love you John BUT there is so so so so many people that have been a RUclipsr then went to filmmaking. The most successful probably being David F. Sandberg Or Mike Diva. Mike Diva had tons and tons and tons of viral videos on RUclips and now is the director of all the skits on Saturday Night Live.

@@Charlie_lives 14:20, 14:40
Dan trachtenberg was in that situation like Chris did but as a podcaster instead of RUclipsr. Still remember when only Alex and Jeff talk about the movie while Dan just ask questions.
If I may add a counter point…While I agree with your analogy John, about it always being the studios film, they are free to make those changes, and that sometimes those are necessary to make a better film, What Chris is pointing out is the series of superhero films Sony has put out and their interference on a movie and how it may be affecting the quality. After 4 films that are mediocre at best, I feel that you have to point towards the studio with decisions they are making.
While all the filmmakers in Sony’s past 4 films are capable of making a decent film, there are reasons that Sony chooses them over others, so they can control them to make the film they want
As for the writers of the last two(Madam Web and Morbious), yeah there is no defending them …
But you’re right John, it’s Sony’s house and they will make the movie they want to make. But with hiring people to control or might not be up for the job, it’s going to be a mediocre product. So in the end, I still feel it starts and ends with the studio.
It has been done before Goddard did it , One of the greatest Filmmakers OF ALL TIME
Jonh the internet is open forum. That mean discussion. Calling people lonely is petty as fuck. No I not know or care about what he say.
Yeah I think that was a reach for him
It’s simple. Make your own indie film and it’s yours and not the studios
To your first point of contention with Chris about studio interference. I think your comparison to someone designing your house holds water if a studio hires someone to make a movie and after they take that movie and use it for their own personal viewing and then put it in the closet. But when the studio is responsible to release it to the masses and has to appeal to potentially millions of people, then studio should respect the creatives to put the best product that people will like and relate to. Not appease a couple of old rich execs that they personally like it.
I think people were annoyed with chris video regarding madam web was because it was kind of 'click bait' people went to see a review which he titled 'i have to talk about this' so people assumed it was going to be a review of the movie and was expecting more detail on how bad the film was, instead they were shown a video about his experience with his indie movie was awful process or something like that. So people were just annoyed with him. I don't think there was nothing wrong with his video, he should have used a different thumb nail image and maybe a different title.
Chris stuckmmqn stop being a movie critic for a few years now. Idk how this is news just now.
It’s not. His stupid video is news
To be fair, if the studios wanted the pepsi sign to drop on the villain, i don't think there is any way possible to make it work without being corny or cheesy. Some limitations from studios ruin the movie, so in a way Chris was right, but your point abou the renovator analogy is also fair.
Yes but so many directors tell stories of studios being a pain in the ass while still being able to make a good movie or at least an ordinary one
Not buying it. I saw the video. I don't see your point and the recent data points do not support your narrative. Stuckmann is still a movie critic. He put up two new RUclips videos 5 days and 3 days after his Madame Web video labelled "Dune: Part Two - Movie Review" and "Grave of the Fireflies - Movie Review". Basically he will only review movies he likes. OK. Good for him. But then he refuses to review probably the worst movie of the year and then tries to blame studio heads for the trash. It is obvious he felt pain for the newbie director/writer and shifting blame. Maybe he saw himself in those shoes. Quite chivalrous but the board was not buying it. The director/writer made a terrible movie after being given millions and Spiderman link for a built-in audience. That person failed miserably. Taste, skill, ability to direct and control what gets put on film all appear to put off the general audience - people with eyes. I say hooray for all the critics for criticizing some who still does movie reviews for trying to convince us artist should be given a pass for suck. Just because something is so bad and so many people hate it, doesn't mean we should give them a pass. If anything, so future trash is not made by people who aren't ready.
watched first 30 mins. john, why r u so apologetic? before making a point, u spend a lot of time apologizing and it feels like u r fearing that people ll bash u. dont do it that much. and also, a film is not the producers bedroom. its not only for him to enjoy. a film is made for the people. creative persons behind camera have their vision and they want this vision to materialize for the world to see. so ur example is not very relatable.
Chris Stuckmann has no balls I can't take him seriously. No he was not honest, he's afraid to get black balled by the studios, he's a sell out.
Wow John campea is a special kind of stupid if he thinks that honesty is only assessed by what a person says and does not extend to what they chose not to say.
For example, if I summarize the Ukraine war as an event in which the Ukrainian Army killed thousands of people and engaged in a combat which resulted in tens of thousands of civilian deaths all of that would technically be true but if I neglected to mention Russia's rule, it would be completely misleading and ultimately dishonest.
RUclipsrs like Campea and Stuckman try to obfuscate and and constrain the value of the virtue and the scope of the duty of honesty, which is one of the reasons why their integrity in the mind of the public is in a constant state of equipoise
Movies and related forms of entertainment are no fun largely due to toxic so called fans.

BREAKING NEWS: People are stupid!
I wonder how many people who are angry at Stuckman's lack of a Madame Web review, are angry about all the many, many other movies he also didn't review this past year. I read someone saying that as a critic, it's his duty to review the movie. No it isn't. He's not a police officer turning a blind eye to a mugging, or a doctor refusing to treat a patient because of their skin colour. He's just a dude on the internet talking about a movie. Maybe he just didn't want to join the pile-on. Besides, everyone already knows the movie is a steaming pile. One more review won't change that. And frankly, there's no reason for folks to be angry at a lone You-tuber, saying something that you don't like. Something you do actually like, is just three clicks away. Calm the eff down, and watch that instead.
thats soooo not the point yall get on here and just be talkin😂😂😂
even he talked about the studios doing shit they not supposed to. the creatives on this film are objectively talentless hacks, their resume shows it. i personally dont understand how these people get hired in the first place...
You’re completely right but why is Sony hiring them? Are they all idiots? The writes made morbius which bombed, their only ok movie was power rangers in 2017 and even that wasn’t that good. Why can’t they just hire writers with a decent cv.

It’s stupid that anyone cares that much about what the guys thumbnail was. It wasn’t deceptive.
@@WhiteHorseBlackHat it was deceptive, he knew something about Madame Web would get clicks bc it’s a large topic of conversation now. It’s not the end of the world, clickbait is something many RUclipsrs do, but thats what happened.
Noble Chris is a hollow robot reviewer that cares only for his little film, and says nothing, bro already surrendered himself too
At no point did he say it was a review. It’s clear in the TITLE.
I’ve always wondered directors like Quentin Tarantino how do they use the correct words to tell the studio to back off when they had nothing at the very beginning no power no money no fame, but they are doing something that other directors are failing at when it comes to winning over the arguments, I want to know what are they doing? That’s different.! 🧐
He beat the studio during his first movie when he had nothing. 🤯
Timing played a big part with QT. The 90’s were a rare time for indie filmmakers to make it on to the scene. I also think Tarantino is more blunt than most first time directors want to be.
@@LostUtopiaFilms good point
Tarantino is a brand on his own. You go to watch the Tarantino film. His previous successes is what he can leverage on that front. Same as Nolan.
@@matt_indy The earlier ones, maybe, but $100M is still $100M.
Having listened to a lot of this and watched Stuckman’s video, I think like all things it falls into the middle ground. I agree the impetus is on the creatives to work within the constraints of studios. I’d argue it’s what made the MCU so good for nearly a decade. Marvel Studios developed an incredible plan that didn’t just make money but had a continuous and well thought out narrative. Yeah creatives may have lacked complete agency but damn they should be proud of what came from that time. But I can also imagine what Chris describes, a studio that is attempting to service the product more than the audience. Overly edited and audience tested into the ground to such a point that the soul of the film died long before it was premiered. Both probably happen but it’s nearly impossible to tell from the outside looking in if it was a bad idea or a bad studio. But let’s be real, Gods of Egypt and Morbius writers working with Sony, we all knew this film was going to be bad.
Yes while movie studios may want to change a few scenes or use different characters… ultimately the director still have a chance to make or break a movie.
Sony are doing this to themselves, who the hell rehires the writers who wrote their last movie which bombed. I’m not going to go to the same dentist if they mess up a root canal or rehire a decorator who does a rubbish job. Give the spiderman rights back to marvel I say.

Chris Stuckmann put out a video detailing why the current studio system doesn't work, breaking down the process of why the films like this happen, and giving solutions to solve the problem and people are outraged about it? Pretty much everything he said is reasonable.
He openly criticized Sony and other studios for caring more about IP recognition and instant profits than letting the filmmakers make a story, and he is right. It’s more often the studio’s fault than the individual filmmaker.
But I guess making a thoughtful vid about the state of the film industry and pointing out actual issues is going against the grain.

Great instalment of Open Mic…..thanks for giving us all your time John.
David Lynch has said numerous times that he would rather not make a film than make a film where he didn't have final cut. And I agree. Final cut is something every filmmaker should strive for, or you're left with the theatrical cuts of Blade Runner and whatever it was Alien 3 turned out to be. Please ask David Fincher his thoughts on the amazing studio interference from Fox on that one!
"WHERE THE F* IS JESUS?" had me cracking up.
There is studio interference and studio interference. Joss Weadon didn't get half as much of oversight as alot of new directors for Marvel movies does. The passt couple of directors haven't even been hired, they've been cast. And it shows with the end product.
The comparison of studios and directors/writers to homeowners and interior designers is a perfect analogy! I've never had the studio process of making movies explained better to me.
I have to admit. It’s a good analogy.
I don't think the kind of studio interference he's talking about is quite the same as the interference that results in films like Madame Web and Spider-Man 3
I’d also use the analogy of cooking. Example, I bought you all the ingredients to make cookies. Then you ask how about we switch the chocolate chips and have macadamias instead? No. I wanted chocolate chip cookies.
@@keithoneil9894 Well in your example the studio would be the one who wanted chocolate chip cookies since they are the one who bought the ingredients.
@@majorlazor5058 Yes. In my example, maybe I could've worded it a little better, is the studio wants chocolate chip cookies and I hired a baker to make them, and they say "Hey, let's switch it to macadamia cookies, cause that's what I want." No, I hired them to make chocolate chip cookies.
the only problem with the house painting colour analogy is that, when you're getting your house painted, you are catering to only your needs. But a film isn't for only the producers and studios. It is for a widespread audience. I think the creatives are probably slightly better equipped at gauging that than suit wearing executives.
Perhaps decorating a restaurant would be a better analogy since. The owner with the help of a decorator would decide a style that can make the restaurant pop!
Stuckmann has always struck me as a genuinely nice guy. Now that he has completed a movie, I understand his wanting to be positive and not criticize others' work. Virtually every movie pundit or critic I follow who makes it as a writer or director comes away saying that it's hard to criticize after you have made one
honestly he shouldn’t label his videos as reviews then cause if he doesn’t wanna talk about bad films then he isn’t a real critic anymore. he does want to celebrate films then yea go for it just dont talk about a bad film/the studios.
The Chris Stuckmann criticism came from someone clipping out like 90 seconds or so of that video and saying "lol this sucks" or something
It is STRIKINGLY obvious people watched that, did not watch the rest of the video, and just assumed it was a Madame Web review
37:09 yes, he did say this re: “not trying to be a film critic anymore.” And yet, he is STILL reviewing films in the most cautious way possible; that sounds like a film critic to me.
Since his transition of becoming a filmmaker, he only highlights the “positives” of the films he talks about, or “reviews”. He doesn’t talk about the negatives. Heck, he praised the film “I.S.S.”, but neglected to talk about the dog-sh!t ending (something that Jeremy Jahns did not shy away from saying you’re better off walking out of the theater right before the final act, and drawing your own conclusion of the film instead). He praised Argylle (probably because he was rubbing elbows with the director in his 1:1 interview), which Jermey Jahns said it was pretty much garbage as well. The list goes on and on.
Chris can do whatever he wants. It’s a free country. If he wants to play it safe and not bash films due to the possibility of being hired by studios someday, more power to him. I can see why he goes about it that way.
But I don’t think it’s fair to call out folks who don’t agree with Chris’ current methods of still trying to “review” movies, when a lot of his “reviews” are skewed and biased if it works in his favor and ultimate career goals. It’s very misleading for him to do, especially when he conveniently neglects to mention any drawbacks the film may have, thus misleading viewers to believe a film is a lot better than it actually is.
That’s why Jeremy Jahns has become the undeniable movie critic / review champ, because he will call a movie good when it’s good, and a movie bad when it’s bad… or even terrible. He’s unfiltered, and that’s how film critics / “reviewers” should be.
Very well said
Holy moly 3 hours! This is like Lawrence of Arabia of RUclips. 😅John you are amazing. Also, I agree with what you said about Chris. He has been a treasure for us RUclips film community for the last 10 years or so, and I am fully supporting his evolution from a humble RUclips critic to a filmmaker.
And this is John coming off a recent throat infection! 😅
No one's watching his "film" Chris used to be good but sold out
@@aaronfrantz25 lol dude, having ambition and following your dreams is NOT selling out. Let someone work hard to achieve a goal without being a hater.
@alexp601 his film making ambition is not what makes him a sell out..... telling us the last Jedi and rise of Skywalker were good films when it was clearly him going easy on disney because he is hoping for a phone call is definitely selling out..
he started off as an honest movie critic.. and now he is a someone who says whatever he thinks studio executives want to hear for that filmmaking ambition.
John and harloff told us the last jedi was great too..
They are all in the same game.
This is why John is rambling right now.. he wants to call out Chris without calling out Chris.. because he is running a similar con game.
The director of madame webb was also a writer on the film and a co producer... This is not an issue of the studio Sinking a film. The director was clearly given carte blanche..
He tried to create the over bearing studio narrative....
because he wanted to run cover for the hack writers and a hack director who made this film a dumpster fire.
If you can't see that you're being obtuse on purpose...
@@gstqcomics2017 well you seem to know a lot more about Chris than I do.
I don’t remember Harloff and Campea saying The Last Jedi was great (apart from recency bias buzz after first seeing it). At least now they both freely mention it wasn’t a great film.
On a similar note, I still wonder why so many early reviews for The Flash were so extremely positive, and then it came out and everyone realised it was very flawed and mixed. I get it’s all about making money and being in peoples pockets, but I’d like to think Stuckman Harloff and Campea have a bit more integrity than that (for the most part).
I get the feeling John isn’t going to discuss Jeremy Jahns’ recent controversial review.
Chris has great insight on movies. I’ve enjoyed his positive and negative reviews. And it’s fine if he no longer wants to do negative reviews. If that’s the case, then don’t talk about bad movies. His video on Madam Web just comes off as passive aggressively giving a negative review without actually saying it. It was a very frustrating experience watching that. It’s like, come on, man, just say it already.
And honestly, I think that's what most people aren't understanding about why people are upset. Sure, it's not that serious to where it needs to be a big deal. And maybe you didn't need Chris to just come right out and say that he didn't like Madame Web to know that he didn't. But it all just came across as a giant smoke screen just for him to avoid acknowledging what he hated, and even liked about it. Not that he didn't make some great points, but the constant infantilization of creatives is what put me off. Not because somebody has to scream their head off in a rant, but because positive and negative feedback should be encouraged towards them and the studios.
"Not a reviewer anymore", puts out a review of dune 2 three hours ago. Can't have it both ways.
He’s not a movie CRITIC. He only talks about movies he wants to praise.
I'm sure Stuckman will be OK John. He already has a mom, 😅. I think if fans can be judged for not loving a movie by film studio friendly RUclipsrs, then those same RUclipsrs can be judged by fans. His statement also insinuates that those who WILL actually critique large studio films are not of the same moral standing as he. Critique is not inherently negative, btw. What's good for the goose, right?
I watched Chris’ video on Madame Webb last week and it was probably the most diplomatic review for a bad film I’ve ever seen. Yeah he could’ve gone that route and bashed it but he clearly set the expectation that he wasn’t going to do that. To see people losing their minds over it is ridiculous.
Chris wants to be a film maker so he can’t bash current films anymore or they won’t let him into their little group. clear as day to see
simple!!!
but that's a lame ass argument. Because when his film comes out he will be scrutinized arguably worse than if he had just continued as normal. He's basically dug himself a massive hole.
You movie nerds are cringe. Let the man be.
@@mrpc3 no!!!
@@mrpc3Are you his mom? In his new lane, he better have thick skin.
Once you side with the filmmakers over the audience- you've lost me. There's a part of me that thinks Stuckman is trying to lessen the potential hate for his upcoming movie. Stuckman started his Madame Web video shilling for the b.s. company Better Help - f*** that!
I saw the video and I liked it. Never saw a single negative thing about it.
And now thanks to John I went to see the responses to Chris´s video and IM LOSING MY MYND. What the hell is wrong people. So God damn pathetic to go on a rant about what someone else thinks or not. Jesus.
🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
@@antoineLebranewhat'd Stuckmann say to get you so pressed to feel the need to respond to so many comments that objectively point out how all the rage bait channels didn't actually watch the entire video😂
Sorry Johnny boy, but you’re wrong about studio interference not being a problem. If I commission Rembrandt or Picasso to create a painting for me, I may be buying the end product, but I have no right to tell them how to paint it or micromanage every detail. I’m ostensibly hiring these artists for their particular style, it is no longer their style when I tell them how to paint. With your logic, there would be no innovation or creativity that exists. But that explains why you think shitty comic book movies are the best thing since sliced bread.
I disagree with 99.999% of what John has said throughout the years via his content. However, I do 100% agree with him as far as being against the hate that Chris Stuckman has received and the reasons for the hate on Chris’s Madame Web editorial video.
It’s pretty astonishing how pretty much everyone who has commented on Chris’s video are not comprehending that he is not a movie critic anymore. He has said this countless times now. He also literally said in the video itself that it wasn’t a review of the movie so why would he be criticizing it? He was criticizing the studios and that’s it.
But he reviewed a movie just 2 days ago...
I wouldn't say that he's not a critic anymore. But what I will say is that you can tell that all the people who're are outraged don't really watch him like that. I clearly remember him making a video years ago about how he was no longer gonna trash movies like he did before. Especially now that he's a director and knows what goes into producing films.
@@RandomBlackGamerthat comment from him stuck with me too!
He specifically states how uncomfortable he feels with it now.
@@DarKAnGeL885 If you watch the whole open mic, you should know by now the reason why he still does, and Christ already said before that he wants to review most of the movies he liked or loved and will like or love.
@@DarKAnGeL885 It's hilarious because I watch him for his reviews, and when I was recommended that video I skipped it, since I knew it wasn't a review and I wasn't interested in the topic in question. It was pretty clear that it wasn't a review to me. I didn't even know there was drama about this....I might end up giving it a view
John, you should also know the context and the source of the his viewers’ frustration. This is not the first but a trend of Chris not willing to give negative reviews on any movies since he started to make his own horror film. The quality of his other movie reviews has also declined and quite dull compared to the early years. His most recent film review of Argyle, he went soft on reviewing that movie, which is universally panned bad by other critics. At the end, he gave a plug to say he interviewed the director Matthew Vaughn. That was a fact. People are shocked by his lack of self awareness and conflict of interests.
Chris wants to be a part of the club so he doesn’t want to step on the toes of other creatives. And as a result he’s become completely pretentious, won’t seriously review movies, but still wants to be able to make money off of the large YT audience he’s built off of being a legitimate critic. That’s the problem.
thank youuuuuuuuu these are the comments i look for someone who can have an objective view chris stuckman has been boring for a while now😂😂
@@garfieldGGand i hate that hes built such a following that nothing he does is ever wrong
I don't think Chris has any illusions that studios have interfered for decades. But the flow of information that exists today simply didn't exist until the internet came around and matured to the extent that studios have been able to use it to their advantage from a trends/algorithm standpoint. Once social media became a big thing, it has worsened. It's why so many movies (not all, I know!) feel the same. It starts to feel like a copy of a copy of a copy. Except we are now 20 copies in from the original form and the copies are starting to look pretty bad.
Studio interference isn't always bad. It's a Ying and yang..
Lucas, Shyamalan, Fincher, and Scorsese (lately) are examples of creative that need a little more studio intervention.
The prequels had too many Yes man around Lucas.
Scorsese needs to get back to 2hr-ish films and cut the bloat
Fincher's Mank needed tightening and The Killer could have used some touching up and pacing work
Shyamalan under a studio or constraint gives us Signs, 6th Sense, Unbreakable, and Split. Blank checks give us Old, Lady In The Water, The Happening
2:26:43 we need more bible stories from John,
its hard to get people on board, and you tell them in a non boring fun way and make it cool lol
And I think the bible is in sore need of some cool these days. Like, its lord of the rings, its game of thrones, its a superhero story all these things that are popular today but people don't see it that way.
Yeah that’s the thing with rage baiters, there is always enough fish on the line to keep em baiting..
They don’t even need to provide context now, just thumbnails with red arrows or dumb photoshops with tears everywhere.
Within the video they always tend to rant in circles of hypocrisy and bitterness..
Lol i found your page through your Star wars 8 review. Funniest shit i ever saw. This guy spends his life reviewing movies lol
Yes, studio interference has been around for ages… but not this kind. Bankers, Silicon Valley, Lawyers are now the heads of this studios.
I think when you try to label Kevin F as a studio interference, I think you are a little off. He’s a producer on these films. Now if Bob Iger was giving notes, that’s studio interference.
I’m not saying interference is wrong it’s their money.
But things have changed.
Kevin Feige is the producer and became the president of production for marvel studios in 2007. Technically he is part of the studio and in a way his input to the creatives for their movies are "studio interference".
I wonder if people behind the scene want to trash the *Spider-Man* brand to the point that *Sony* wants to sell the rights back to Marvel. Other than the Spider-Man movies, Sony current crop of Spider-Man universe movies have been crap and seems deliberately done.
Folks who were mad at that video from Chris Stuckmann either don’t follow his RUclips channel at all or simply haven’t followed it in years cus otherwise they’d know that he doesn’t consider himself a traditional film critic anymore, doesn’t review films that he would give lower than a B - and on top of that doesn’t do letter grades anymore except if there’s a film he thinks deserves an A+ in which case he’ll do it plus he’s a filmmaker now with a film of his own (SHELBY OAKS) that is currently in post-production and doesn’t wanna burn bridges in the industry. Not once did he say that folks can’t dislike MADAME WEB. The only place that exists is in idiots own head. Really not that hard to understand this take of his. I met Chris (and Jeremy Jahns) at Comic-Con back in 2015 and true story Campea walked by me in the hallway and I didn’t say anything to him only cus he had someplace to be so I didn’t wanna bug him but I did meet Jon Schnepp (RIP) and he was cool. I’m reminded back when SAW 7 was announced they had brought on SAW 5 Director David Hackl to helm the film while Kevin Greutert (who had directed SAW 6) was originally gonna direct PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 but Lionsgate forced him back and David was booted off the film which of course meant Kevin wouldn’t be able to direct PA2 anymore. So knowing that info back when it happened and the film was panned I don’t fault Kevin for the film and that doesn’t mean you can’t dislike the film but I would hope folks understand that he had no intentions at that time to direct another SAW film so when a studio forces you back to direct something that when your heart isn’t in it that’s just bad business right there. So excuse Chris Stuckmann for wanting to discuss these issues regarding studios instead of being some stupid grifting incel or anti-woke idiot who will shout at the top of their lungs and hope every film flops just so he can laugh his ass off about it. Folks on social media love to discuss more and more of what films they hate rather than what films they love. I remember when issues were reported about Sony’s MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL and I remember hearing about issues behind the scenes with the 2019 HELLBOY reboot with David Harbour. There’s plenty of videos online of folks ripping MADAME WEB so go watch those. Also the lady who posted on Twitter to her nearly 15k followers 41 seconds of Stuckmann’s 16 minute video, go look at her RUclips channel where she has a video trashing the BARBIE movie for an hour and 28 minutes and she has the nerve to call Chris “annoying”?! Who wants to listen to someone bash a film for that long?! In any case Chris did nothing wrong and more that some folks on social media are just being assholes.
Thank you for this 3 hours!
ppl were mad and confused cause it was clickbait it was made to seem like a review then it wasnt so i get why ppl are a little like wtf but yea settle down lol
Campea is the man
To be fair any and all people's opinions are subjective.
Lol I know exactly the RUclipsr John mentioned about having so much less viewers than Chris … he was indeed very passionate about how much angry he was w Chris being passive about his reviews
These 3 hours were really a blast John. Been working while playing it on a second screen and really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for the laughs and thoughts and simply 'hanging around with you' feeling!
This just in, people on the internet have opinions about other people giving their opinions online! But is John that oblivious about performative outrage YT channels? Those guys are grifters who don't deserve the extra oxygen.
Took John 20+ mins to finally get to the fucking point.
Obviously, none of us knows but I think Madame Web has Avi Arad's fingerprints all over it, right down to showing characters that exist only so that they can make toys.
Arad actually wasn't a producer on Madame Web.
@@jmiller2728 I know but I suspect he's still got a lot of influence since he's been the "Marvel guy" for Sony for so long.
Yeah I think people are totally missing the point of Chris’ video smh
Why is the movie getting labored over at all when there's actually good movies to yadda yadda about..
The whole thing is stupid. It's HIS CHANNEL. Chris has the right to run his channel how he wants to.
