Amazing video
Glad you think so!
Love it all! Such majestic manta rays, close ups of hammer heads, whale shark, dolphins playful in the water - phenomenal the way you weave it all together with the music!
😍 This makes me want to go back!! Amazing! 😍
Outstanding video. One of my bucket list places to dive.
Only just caught up watching your video. Excellent. The images of going out on the Solmar V and the manta rays with the divers are just wonderful.
Stephen, absolutely gorgeous. The photography and film editing are terrific.
What an awesome trip! So want to go to Socorro!
You r back:):):) Thank u very much for this video, we r still having lockdown in Greece so every positive video or hope for future Traveling is for me like blessing:):):)
Thanks! Yes, there is hope for the future and the world getting better!
Beautiful footage. Would you mind sharing what month you went please?
Thanks. I was there the end of November over thanksgiving.
EXCELLENT video! How many dives did you have? And if I ask a comparison to Raja Ampat? :)
Thank you! If memory serves I got in about 25 dives. There really isn't a comparison between Socorro and Raja Ampat. As you can see in the video, there are no reefs with corals in Socorro. It is quite colorless, but the pelagics are abundant. Raja explodes with color and biodiversity. Both places are worthy of a visit though. :-)
@@StephenMartin001 *sigh* Hopefully soon. We binge watch your videos and dive from our couch till we can get back to it.
Nicely done…any issues with bringing drone into Mexico?
No, but I didn't have to go through additional screening. You may be forced to pay a "tax".
Beautiful as always Stephen! Your filming and editing are great as always. I have been following your videos since Anilao and love them all. Could you tell me if you are filming in 4K/30 or 1080/60 to get those silky smooth slow motion shots underwater? Thanks again!
Thanks Jack! I appreciate you watching! I shoot in 4k60. However, I output at 1080/30. This give some creative flexibility with zooming and timing. In addition to that, a steady hand and image stabilization in post helps too! :-)
@@StephenMartin001 Thanks for the update. I use the Oly EM1MKll which only goes up to 4K/30 so it does not give a real smooth slomo. I am wondering about shooting in 1080/60 to go to 10880/30 for the slomo? But I would rather shook in 4K but the slomo is not real smooth unless I run at maybe 75% speed. We shoot the MZ 7-14 and 12-40 or the 60mm mac. Do you have any suggestions?
@@skibarron Shooting at 4k30 you can get some zoom and (some slight) slowmo if you output at 1080/24. If you're interested in smooth slowmo shoot at 1080/60 and output 1080/30. You loose the zoom, but can slow down by 50%. Beyond that it's helpful to make sure your camera is just slightly negative in the water. That way you can move it smoothly--even with one hand--without causing much jitter. And good buoyancy control also helps a lot.
If your camera has internal image stabilization in video mode, try using it. And, apply image stabilization in your editor in post.
@@skibarron I forgot to mention, when using the 60mm, I use a tripod to keep things steady. While I sometimes think I can hold the camera steady, it never turns out that way.
@@StephenMartin001 Thanks for the insights on that. When I video, I do use the in camera image stabilization and it helps a lot. I did get a tripod, as you said, the 60mm was too jerky with out one. So next time in say a place like Bonaire, I will experiment with the tripod and video. So I went back to shooting stills with the flash. Thanks for getting back to me and I love your video! Jack
Hi, great video! I've heard of troubles entering mexico with cameras/drones. Did you have any issues? I'm planning on bringing my rx100/housing, gopro and drone. Thank you!
You might get taxed on your drone, the number of cameras you have (if more than 2) and underwater housing. I made it through without issue, but I didn't get additional screening. Be prepared with receipts.
@@StephenMartin001 Yes, that's what I've heard, seems like a hassle.
I'm wondering, I'm just an amateur and wanted some drone footage of San Benedicto island for my video intro. I'm looking for some 4k footage, the colour grading I can attempt to do myself. I can give you credit for the footage or maybe a small fee.
Let me know if you're interested and if so, what footage you have. Please email me: ccmystuff AT yahoo dot com. Thanks!
Wow how do I go?
