can`t agree more. even i`m native korean, and i understood whole meanings and nuances of the lyrics ( once i believed i did ), on this channel, i can see and learn great perspectives i`d never thought about it, which is as so deep and diverse
this is great way for us, human beings, people see each other, know each other and making something awesome among us, behalf of different perspectives`s faces.. Praise diversity of us Homo Sapiens, hell yeah!

Akdong Musician never ever disappoints, really. And I have never been so excited about any other artist as much as I get excited with Bigbang, 2NE1, Epik High, Urban Zakapa, Bbolbbalgan4 or IU. These two are so goddamn talented and I am happy these musicians appreciate them because it's easy to overlook this amazing duo due to many mainstream idol groups.
And the fact that Suhyun can sing those high notes LIVE blows my mind. What a gift.

In korea there is a popular concept of '승화seung hwa' being used to describe artistic fineness. It means like 'Transcending sad things' or 'embracing and mellting it'. We use that word when artists or athletes spinning their sad experiences do great work and give us joy. Ironical mood tear and smile togather.

I'll miss chanhyuk I'll seriously do, he's such a genius producer every yg artist wished they were like him, he understands the music and the rhythm for the sound of his group sometimes even better than teddy, I'll miss this underrated producer in music industry, and please guys keep an eye on his sister suhyun she's coming as a soloist with a song her brother produced for her before leaving for army ㅠ
Thing is every artist in YG have a different music vibe that they go for when producing their own songs. He isn't underrated in Korea and that's what matters. No need to downplay the rest of yg artists cause everyone is amazing.

another thing that supports the debt collectors theory is that their family used to be quite poor so they had to move to mongolia for around 5 years. also they actually had to live in a basement, families live in basements of actual houses for low rent bc they cant afford their own house which goes back to what chanhyuk sings in the first verse about their family living in the basement of a villa. i just wanted to put that out there
희짱 HEERIN Hmm now that you said it yeah it does make a lot of sense. Chanhyuk is such a brilliant lyricist and he puts his heart into their music. I love their storytelling appeal.
right. in some point of view, the dinosaur was creditors and AKMU was pressed by them even middle of the night in their childhood. so there is lyrics like this "the dinosaur appeared in my dream when I was child" and it could means that it wasnt a dream. it could real. and that point of view, lyrics like this "it broked out on window, roared out my family" seems look like the creditors yelled to their parents.
Akmu makes me suffer from how good they are
In late 90s and early 2000 many korean lost thier jobs and decided suicides because the government was broken and had to follow IMF It meant social welfare system didnt work at all. So far kids who were grownup at that time wasnt that appered as a source on pop culture. AKMU is that generation and I think they used their own story and its generations story. What a storyteller.
I tear up whenever I hear this song. The lyric-less chorus to me sounds like a cry of despair and a desire for hope rolled into one.

I love Akmu so much! Dinosaur was on replay constantly when it first came out. I can always rely on Akmu to release music that I absolutely love! I'm gonna miss them while Chanhyuk is in the army.

I love that you read the lyrics to them. When they reacted to One of These Nights, I wanted them to know it was dedicated to the Sewol ferry victims. The purpose behind the songs or mv do change the perspective of the songs. There is a lot of happy songs with sad lyrics, so it's awesome for them to get to know that contrast.

This is my first time watching on this channel and I really liked the review! Most reactors to kpop songs mainly focus on how cool/bop the songs and how aesthetically pleasing the mvs are but this one actually reviews how the music was born from observing the progression of chords to tackling every element there is in the music. Maybe you can do a reaction with "old" songs, like SuJu "Sorry Sorry", Wonder Girls "Nobody", 2PM "Hearbeat" , FT Island "I wish" etc.? It would be nice for the fans of the second generation :)! I LOVE the LOVE you guys have for AKMU. I think AKMU is so special in KPOP. There's a purity about them and their music that I just want to CHERISH. Their stories, their music it feels like discovering NARNIA. It's not just CUTE, its INNOCENT and SUBTLE. The story behind it, makes me in awe of Chan Hyuk's ability to tell stories through his music. It really is a sort of genius. It feels like those old 80s-90s films like Never Ending Story? or Labyrinth... like a fairytale gone rogue? It has that thin veneer of child-likeness but you can clearly see that its a sheet mask over something much MUCH worse. "Ironic Sweetness" is the best description of this song. Gawd, I need to stop now. Great Reaction. Great appreciation.

blacKpinKpop the truth is, Yunyi already/kinda reacted to this song... Dinosaur was her least favorite from AKMU but she liked My Darling.. It just wasn't her cup of tea .. Though she wasn't a fan of EDM as a whole.

This twist of having an upbeat melody to very deep lyrics is really typical for AKMU. I feel like that makes the message of their songs get to you even more. I remember when I first listened to their song "Is it Ramen" and thought it was such a catchy and fun song until I read the lyrics to it. This type of music gives me this bittersweet ironic feeling of having a smile on your face whilst experiencing something sad and trying to cope with the pain it brings with it.
