- 1947 the British divided their Indus Empire into two countries, India and Pakistan. And then both countries became really good friends and everything was okay forever. No, what actually happened was over 70 years of wars and conflicts that have killed half a million Indians and Pakistanis. And Kashmir has been in the middle of it all!
For this reason, the FCDO advises you NOT to come here. Is Kashmir really the turbulent, dangerous, war zone the media makes it to be? Or is it somewhere we can visit, explore, and most importantly, learn from.

Nobody talked about the real situation because they will be locked by the government the next day. The security is for the people, to control them not to protect them.

Kashmir haa suffered a lot for more than 40 years, kashmiris have faced a lot of pain and bloodshed during these 4 decades specifically in 90s, kashmir is a hot topic for political parties to take their leverage from, it is always common people who has to suffer.

and had a fantastic time.People are so very friendly and warm and we felt very safe.People survive mainly on tourism
and were very happy and welcoming. What a Beauty ..It truly is a slice of Paradise on Earth...
most of our kashmir economy is based on our Fruits, Tourism/hospitality and kashmir arts and crafts 🍁❤✌️
Tourism provides 4-5 % in terms of direct GDP contribution of kashmir and 7-8% Indirect GDP of kashmir. Please don't say kashmir mainly depends on tourism.

13:10 The Govt of India is providing HIGHLY SUBSIDIZED food to Ration Card holders probably less than usd10$ for the month. Plus FREE FOOD to BPL (below poverty line) families. To prevent corruption and to have a transparent system, Ration Card and BPL card has to be made by each family which entitles them for these benefits. Nearly 90% population are helped. Making these cards is simple process but to the uninitiated it will appear troublesome.
Regarding jobs and tourism, it is indeed amazing to hear that no jobs due to less tourism, whereas Kashmir is bursting at the seams with tourists and in 2023 to date over 18 million tourists have arrived, the highest in 3 decades! You have to be where the tourists are.
And hindu tax payers are paying for the Muslims who in return had kicked out the original resident hindu pandits

I feel so so proud to be a Kashmiri really ...Even the shop keepers speak English confidently and now I get to know how unlucky people we are even though we have so much of knowledge we are suffering to get a job😂..But yeah I must say the accent of that man OMA ....I watched so many videos of these foreign people struggling to conversation with people of other states in India and Pakistan but in Kashmir it seems very easy ❤

Because Indians love to bargain, and want value for their money, so if you have an entire market of the same products in the same location, both the buyers and sellers benift.
Eg; in any city or town in India, there will be a hardware market or automotive spare parts or electrical parts market.
It's the reverse of competition, the genuine buyer's come to you, and somebody/ everybody gets business.

Kashmir belongs to the original Kashmiri people of Kashmir, which means Kashmiri Pandits (Hindus). After 1990, only 1% of Hindus are left in the Kashmir valley. I am also a Kashmiri Pandit who had to leave my beloved home in the 90s due to terrorism & Genocide. At that time, my father's elder brother sold our house in 93 Bcz because they thought Kashmir would merge with Pakistan, so they decided to sell their home. Kashmir is 90% safe after the abolition of Article 370. Still, 10% is unsafe for Hindus of Kashmir. After the 3rd term of Modi govt formation, they started attacks on J&K. Specifically in Jammu province.

It is the same with new car dealerships in the US. You will have a Ford dealer, then a Chevrolet dealer nearby, then there is a Toyota dealership around the corner.
