We have something similar. GM made a 4.2 liter 6 cylinder put in the gmc atlas and trailblazer. They also make great power, the latest testing pushed passed 830 with a stock crank, and it did nultiple pull before popping a headgasket.
Im a huge fan of barra motors, met a dude at the woodward dream cruise in metro detroit who had a barra swapped mustang.. man that thing was a monster!!!
Looks like a great engine. In the US, we get the crappy, weak, troublesome little 1500 ecotec Ford engine that cannot keep a head gasket long enough to make the payments.
Just go and build the B58... If there is one in it... If you don't have the b58 then go ahead... Otherwise build the stock engine... B58 hold massive power too
They should have brought that to the US...but of course the good shit stay outside the continent

@@MrThunderCunt ohhh..i had no idea...i do want to know more tho..i like things like that out of the ordinary

Import duty into the US would of made it more expensive than a locally made V8.
Would of been the go to stuff the Turbo version in F-150 trucks.
That's convenient, no thought of duty when it comes to Mexico or Canada. 😮

The Barra I call it a RB with cubes 😅 best ford motor made in oz I got a FG xr6 turbo ute she loves the powerskids
RB motors are some of the worst inline 6 motors ever built.
In Australia, the falcon was the most common taxi because the barra would routinely do over 1 million km without any issues. (I'm an Aussie btw)

I wonder how the blocks and heads would compare with the Barra vs the Chevy 4.2L i6.
There are you tube comparisons. Seems to be a toss up.
What transmission would you pair with a Barra? Me and a buddy wanna swap one in his old 91 f150 but don’t know if we should do auto or manual
So Damm cool
I’d kill for a barra
Two bolt mains ? Wow must be some big ass bolts
How much would it take to get 1000hp out of it
Just get some pistons and rods, oil pump gears and valve springs and she'll be good for north of 650hp.
Oh no, it was not overbuilt, I’m sure ford knew people would be upgrading these engines to the max
Bring to the US
Im pretty sure the red top came with a forged crank aswell like the lpg engines (green top)
No factory Barra had a forged crank.
Nice 👍
What models was this engine used in
Au falcon i think
BA, BF & FG Falcon, Territory SUV from Australia. 2002 - 2016
If your in US, it wasnt made here. For something similar that was made here, look into a GM 4200

Australian Domestic Market only.
I notice it doesn't have 4 bolt mains
That what we're getting for my daughter's mk5 supra. Just waiting on warranty to go out 😂

@that_escalated_quickly2720 not fan of torque curve and engine acoustics. And cost of architecture is too rich for our taste. 😅
My Ford 400 inline 6 will take it on and spank it
A 2-bolt main cap design is considered over built?! For what, a grocery getter?!
Nt4200 or the ameria-barra is a way better engine!
Copy from 2JZ
can handle more power than 2jz anyway
