He’s paid and trained to do that in his sleep. There’s no room for error once that load is on and he’s reversing into a site. It’s just a simple “get another driver, this one is crap”
i appreciate that colin i have been pulling this trailer around for a few years in vegas . I learned pretty quick how to get it around in the city or i would be hung up every where lol
Its wild how big this looks in a city setting. In an open pit mine this would be a small loader, its all about perspective. Volvo make great machines though, I've always loved operating their excavators.
@@jacobs6865 well im rocking a wa1200 and it had like 10 midlife services and its still doing great. so i wouldnt call it shit... 2010+ volvos are bad. worse than komatsu and much worse than cats.
I’ve ran G/H series 988s with 50-60000 hours on them that are still doing 12h shifts digging in granite/loading/feeding plant….. this machine will never last that long or be as reliable. We’ve tried Komatsu, Volvo, Deere, Leibherr, Doosan….. nothing comes close to CAT for longevity or reliability. I’ve seen C series 988/980 loaders still doing full shifts. No Volvo will ever do that.
Never stand in the line of danger. The guy guiding him on the trailer should have been further back, not under the bucket. You've been doing something for so long, complacency tends to set in. And that's when injuries are death occurs. Just a reminder! Great video.

When are we going to be able to get our hands on one of these front loaders in Farming Simulator 4. You don't see to many trucks with twin steering 5. Can't just press R3 to put on the straps 6. That thing is still huge

Super ensemble, très beau Western Star j'adore et un très bon conducteur en plus pour les manœuvres c'est pas évident avec un tel ensemble, chouette vidéo en tous cas....
It’s amazing how we transport equipment here in the states all stretched out with do much spacing between axles and then you look overseas and they would have all the same amount of axles all under the load in a bunch. Or is this out bridge formula?
Uk also uses wheeler type trailers(one axle is 8 tires) like we use in the west, allowing for better weight distribution and lower length, but not all areas recognize them
American truck makers doesn't hate chrome, do they. That trailer was a bit oversized too? We have way smaller trailer for that kinda load here in Sweden.
For the 6/7 figure price tag on the l350... you'd think they'd make a custom cab set up so the door handle isn't 6 inches off the floor... Still... looking forward to our sites delivery date...
3:12 design fail. They must use some version of cab that they use on smaller loaders. A style of door that you'd open coming up the ladder. They should redesign and put door latch half way up side of door instead of bottom corner like smaller models. Would be easier for hand to grasp, less chance nose diving/ slipping head first into deck. The passenger side has a center mounted ladder, but you don't enter that side with all controls mounted there. There isn't a ladder on left side.
Bryce, i could'nt agree with you more on this in this day & age, should have the door latch handle waste height, was this something they over looked or saving money on design & manufacture of cab frame & door,.With the door open & Conexpo who noticed this i wonder.
Volvo use the same cab on all their loaders. The reason its at the bottom is probably beacause on the earlier 350:s you climbed up at the frame joint just like in the smaller models. I do agree that they should probably use another door with more ergonomic entry in the 350.
Can somebody please confirm whether there is any load imposed on the last pair of axles on the lowboy trailer- it doesn't seem logical that any weight actually gets transferred onto them? Thanks from the UK.
tl50camiva yes the bogies slide forwards or backwards depending on weight of gross or axel. I can only have so much weight per axel. Great question and thanks for asking and watching
Yeah I was wondering about that it doesn’t even look like the trailer is set up with outriggers. I’ve never floated a rubber tire machine that wide so I can’t speak from experience. Obviously Volvo hire this guy to float their brand new L250 so they must have faith in him lol. The sag in those tires makes my blood pressure rise looking at it.
On a stiff tire machine like that, outrigger boards arnt necessary, it just looks good, it isn’t til you get into the low ground pressure and soft tire equipment that you’ll see the deflection in the tire
@@themayorofdipshittery3646 where do you haul man? In western Canada we only have to do 50% of each tire or track, unless it’s a side boom then the counter weight side is 100% on and the boom side has like 25% or less😬
Same with the guy pulling chains out of the bottom of the lowboy when the driver was disconnecting the lowboy. I know they have a storage compartment but I bet where he was standing his feet were on black top. If that gooseneck got hung hung up it would of drug him rite under the lowboy even with the trailer brakes on.
