    Am so inclined to get either the Q52 or the QX52 as my first headless.. great video though the tone was kinda thin and lacked girth. I would love to hear these guitars through a fractal or kemper. Best description of the Quest series so far! I dont know if I would ever gig with one, however I love the headless for their portability. Thank you!

      I tried the qx and i was plesantly surprise by the quality of the instrument. The nexk feels amazing and and the is light and extremely comfortable. It is quite small and it deff doesn't have the presence of a conventional guitar but it is a extremely playable guitar and for the price its a steal!!

    Dagan looks like he is playing Guitar Hero with that thing or a 3/4 size kids guitar.
    It looks tiny on him.
    I do like that Ibanez is dipping it's toes in the water for the headless concept.
    I do want to know more about the bridge though.
    Aside from Strandberg and some hardware from Hipshot - many headless bridges are really poorly designed.

    • @naftade
      @naftade 2 года назад +1

      Ha! I also got one. I have to say though, I didn't really bought it for the tones but rather for the near perfect ergonomics and practicability.
      That of course is not too say that the tones were bad (they are not), they just weren't the decisive factor for me.

      They never stopped being popular it's just not too many of us had $2000 to drop on a headless steinberger back in the 80s. And those steinberger's are in the $5000 to $10,000 range today. I just bought one of these Ibanez q52s and I'm blown away by the comfort and sound of this thing .

    So is a headless guitars easier to play compared to a guitar with a head???

    • @Owtyg23
      @Owtyg23 3 года назад +5

      Not directly but there are advantages. The main help for playability is that you can lower the action more than a normal guitar, most the real benefits are in the use and ease of travel

    • @tjmusic3565
      @tjmusic3565 3 года назад +2

      @@Owtyg23 Allright thank yiu!

    • @Owtyg23
      @Owtyg23 3 года назад +2

      @Mark Seymour Because the strings never have to bend off and they go in a straight line you can lower the action with less points of contact so you get little buzzing on lower action

    • @Owtyg23
      @Owtyg23 3 года назад +1

      @Mark Seymour it's to do with the bridge. Think about it this way, if you have a headstock guitar the string height will change at different points of the guitar. With a straight line from headless bridge to end of neck it doesn't change so can go lower

    • @vangoghsseveredear
      @vangoghsseveredear 3 года назад +2

      There is a difference, but its hard to explain without feeling it yourself. Bends seem easier somehow, tuning stability is much better, portability is obviously better, they tend to be much lighter with zero neck dive, etc.

      Some hercules guitar wall hangers have rubber inserts over the foam called narrow neck inserts that way they can accommodate guitars with narrower necks or super small head stocks like the Ibanez Q

    I really want one of these guitars but I hate the weird no stock headstock. I personally call it the nub stock. It's like Ibanez wanted to do headless but they also wanted some kind of visual recognition that tells people this is still an Ibanez so they invented something new? It's not headless in my opinion It's just a extra extra small headstock. The Nubstock.
